Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
And I can't forget about the moronic fans in attendance who booed Silva as if it was his fault that his previous two opponents were scared to death of fighting him. One quick KO of their fan favorite and Silva is once again cheered. Such frontrunners, enough to make you sick. My guess is Dana schedules Griffin-Bonnar 3 to guarantee one of those guys gets a win.Comment

I was actually ok with the card in the end. The first four fights weren't great overall, but they weren't terrible. The two main events were good, though, and especially memorable. And the Snuffleupagus fight is entertaining so far.Comment

The last fight aired wasn't bad either. Great ground work displayed in that one.Comment

Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
The whole thing with Griffin was bizarre to say the least. What I'm thinking is one of those earlier punches by Silva pretty much knocked him totally out of it, and that jab was just the icing on the cake. It would explain how bad he looked near the end of the fight.Comment

I love watching Leg Kick Griffin get his *** beat and Anderson did it in a very entertaining way. He looked like Roy Jones Jr(back when he was actually beating people).Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

On Silva v. Griffin:
I'm reading Griffin's book on how to be tough and what it is to be a "fighter," not a martial artist.
Then he does this?
I'm just confused as hell. He ran from the ring. He gave up, then ran from the ring. I can't wait to see the press confererence tomorrow. I can't believe it.
What happened to Forest? I'm about to put down his book for good.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? No one can seem to kill the right one.Comment

That jab was the third time Forrest had been knocked on his *** in like 3 minutes of fighting. He just got beat up and broken.Comment

Yeah I don't know why people are saying he threw the fight, he was clearly getting killed.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

He said he'd never be broken. And that's the definition of being borken. He gave up and literally ran away from the ring.
I'm a Forest fan.
I'm just baffled.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? No one can seem to kill the right one.Comment

Re: UFC 101: Declaration - August 8th in Philadelphia
Well, sure, but it's like getting caught in a submission. There's some people who think you're a tougher guy if you don't tap. But if that's how you prove your toughness, you're an idiot.
In MMA, we're ok with people tapping to submissions to avoid the obvious punishment that would result otherwise. I don't see what Forrest did as much different. He had been dropped three times in the span of about a minute and a half (after the initial 90 seconds or so when Silva realized Forrest wasn't a threat).
I don't think we should kill Forrest because he gave up. He got in the octagon against a guy likely to give him a beating, he indeed got a tremendous beating, and after the third time he got dropped he just couldn't take anymore. He's human. It's not like he shrunk at the first moment he felt Silva's power. It took him getting dropped three times in a minute and a half for him to be broken.Comment
