Big Country seemed to be a little bothered that Rampage didn't know him.

Rampages team doesn't look too good.

Where? If they are good they are either already in the UFC or in Strikeforce or fighting overseas. All 3 of those offer more money than fighting on the Ultimate Fighter.

        Re: The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights

Haha, I about lost it when Abe was bleeding like a stuck pig, on his back, staring into a pool of his own blood, and all Rampage had to say was, "Submit him!"

This season will be hilarious, but I'm going to be mad at Rampage's coaching... his guys have no chance against Greg Jackson and at least 'Shad is giving his own advice. Rampage would just repeat whatever one of the smarter coaches would say then go right back to, "Get up.. you gotta do something.. do what you do... submit him!" I also love that he just picked all the biggest guys regardless of skill.
Team Rampage's other coaches: "So we're taking Kimbo?"
        Rampage: "Yup."
        Other Coaches:

Also, I love when he chose Kimbo... "Did I spell your name right?" hahahaha

The verbal sparring between Rampage and 'Shad is something else though LOL.... great idea by Dana.

The Tank Abbott line gets me everytime I hear it. I also agree that Rampage is the worst coach in the history of the Ultimate Fighter.

Yeah, Rampage is a cool dude, but horrible coach. I'd much rather be on Rashad's team, even if you don't win you'll learn so much that you might be able to hang on after the show.

Rampage is hilarious. His boy is lucky he didn't die in the octagon, that was a lot of blood. That was hard to watch.

Add to the fact that it was a boring fight where the guy on top had no ground and pound whatsoever, all he could do was take the guy down and barely do anything...

Looking at the cut after the fight was nasty though, that was damn long and wide, pretty huge!

That cut was so deep! I can't believe they let that fight go on after the 1st round.

I'm just waiting for Wes Sims to go ape-****. I give him until Episode 3.

All over the place - you can't seriously tell me there aren't better fighters out there who wouldn't kill for a chance at getting into the UFC.

yeah, that fight should of been stopped to let the DR. look at that cut. Can't believe they didn't do that!

Name them. I'm sure Joe Silva and the rest of the UFC team look in all the places we would and they thought these 16 were the best fits for the show. Also remember that this is a tv show. The 4 former NFL players are a hook to use to get people to watch. So is Kimbo. So is Wes Sims. So is Big Country. They get people who can fight AND who make for interesting people on TV.

Agreed, but I believe most of the cast is pretty weak and far from ready to compete in the HW division. Like you put it they are just interesting characters, but I think most of these men are terrible fighters and just in there for the wow factor.

How many people are actually ready to compete right after the ultimate fighter? Is Ryan Bader considered a top LHW? What about Efrain Escudero? I always looked at the UF as the minor leagues where even the winners will take a few years to become contenders.

Exactly...it's like all the guys at the regional promotions, they're not ready to be contenders right now. TUF is about finding talent, introducing it to people, and watching them grow.

Hell, look at Strikeforce, their HW division has Fedor and that's about it. Rogers is good, but not completely well rounded to be a top contender quite yet...That's a competing top company and how many of them are top tier?

well, the HW division is probably the weakest division in the UFC compared to the other weight divisions. Will have to see more guys on the show fight first, but the 2 guys last night will never be in the UFC IMO............ the guy that lost should quit. The guy who won needs to loose weight.
