IMO, Jones should fight either Thiago Silva or Bader next. If he wins that fight he should get the loser of Evans/Rampage or Couture. If he wins that fight then he should get his shot at the title.

Therefore, he's still about a year away from his shot assuming he wins both fights and is uninjured.

LOL are you actually trying to make the argument that Vera is top 10 and Griffin isnt? Griffin has recent wins over Rua, Jackson and Ortiz. Name a legit top 10 guy that Vera's beat. He loses every top fight he's fought: Couture, Jardine, Jones, Sylvia, Werdum.

Even Dana said Jones is a year away from getting a shot. Lets have him beat a couple of top 10 guys before we award him a title shot ok?
About Rua,...I'm not so sure because lets say Rua won a decision - Machida could say he should get a rematch just like Rua did. Maybe you're right and Machida would have to work back up, but he'd have a legit beef as far as complaining goes.

No I'm not saying Vera is top 10 really, but I'm saying Forrest doesn't deserve to be considered top 10 and if I were a betting man I'd be putting my money on vera if he fought forrest because in my opinion he's more skilled. Forrest has been KTFO by Silva, Jardine and Evans. Vera doesn't really get KO'd and the jones loss was a facial injury, his lights weren't out. Do you honestly think Griffin would beat Vera? Maybe that's a good fight for the UFC...

About Jones, I'm just saying he's in line because he keeps winning. As I said though, if he won his next 2 fights, there is no argument that he wouldn't deserve a shot for his 3rd future bout. I also wouldn't be shocked if he got one after his next win especially if it was against a real top dog. Lets say rampage wins and go does another movie, his shot would probably revert to jones lol.

Machida would make the same argument Rampage and every other former champion has made and it would have failed. Again the reason Rua got an immediate rematch was because everyone thought he was robbed. If Rua would have won....no one would have made that argument for Machida. Machida would have had to work his way back up like everyone else.

I think Griffin would win an easy decision over Vera. Vera hasnt shown he can beat top competition and hasnt shown KO power against top fighters.

If Rampage wins and wants to do another movie, Couture probably gets the next shot if he beats Frankin. Jones is still a year away.

Forrest was definitely not knocked the **** out - he was rocked and couldn't recover. Against Silva... Wow - who doesn't get jacked up eventually, unless they sit back and don't fight... Jardine was before Forrest really matured as a fighter... And Evans he was doing quite well against until he got caught in a bad position. He was never knocked out in any of those fights, and seemed very aware of himself after them. He got rocked and couldn't get out of a barrage, but he wasn't knocked the **** out.

He also beat Rampage and Rua - two top LHW fighters. Vera is definitely not on the level of Rampage or Rua, so I don't see why you're so adamant about Forrest being below Vera. Who the hell has Vera beat at LHW? Reese Andy, Michael Pratt, and that Polish guy whose name I'm not even going to attempt... Wow.

whatever man! Forrest got his *** kicked...he got beat down hardcore, he was absolutely blasted eyes blank style. Now I really want to see those two fight. BTW Forrest beat the most tired and crappy Rua that has ever fought, If he fought him again now, they should have a pine box ready.

Vera is a better striker and has better jiu jitsu and he has a chin. Forrest has a suspect chin, awkward striking mechanics - his only advantage that I see is that he's stronger.

I really want to see this fight now and I'm confident Vera would win. Forrest fighting rampage was like the fight of his life and some people still think he really lost. Vera's problem is that he doesn't live up to his potential...dude's a solid fighter.

Does anyone think this fight will be made? Who's next for forrest? I actually think that would be a great match-up...the only problem is Vera's orbital bones need to be fully healed and I don't know how long bones like that take to really be solid again (if ever).

Yeah, I can't imagine Vera being good to fight anytime in the near future with that injury. Him and Forrest makes perfect sense though.

Forrest is fighting Little Nog at 114. Plus he's coming off a win and the UFC doesnt like putting fighters coming off wins against people who have lost their last two fights.

I would rather do a lot of things, some that would cause me physical or mental pain, than to watch that bout.

Forrest shouldn't be reduced to fighting Vera just yet.

Forrest Griffin is going to have a good showing at 114, his style is suited to beat a guy like Lil Nog.
