Fedor wins 9 times out of 10.

That was pretty much history & I feel bad for Fedors next opponent.

I guess I'm saying that how could the guy be so certain that Fedor would be the best heavyweight in the UFC when he just lost to Werdum?

Fedor is the greatest heavyweight of all time, but I don't think he's currently the #1 HW.

I am a Fedor fan, but admittedly, he has not looked all that good his last two fights.....especially his last one.

In a way it is sad to see yet another icon past his prime. 1st it was Royce, then Sakaraba, then Matt Hughes, then Randy Couture, then Chuck Lidell, now it is Fedor.

Agreed. I was happy for Werdum because he is a BJJ guy and a really humble and likable person, but at the same time I was very sad to see Fedor lose. It was almost like seeing Optimus Prime die in Transformers The (animated) Movie......excuse me, I need a moment....

Don't feel too sorry for Brock.

He could be fighting a trash can and he will make a ton of money. He didn't need Fedor for a massive pay day.

Fedor should just fight Alistair Overeem. That's what he was brought into Strikeforce for anyway, right? There's no need for ethics or sense when you had Rogers fighting Overeem last month after he just lost to Fedor.

Fedor's demands have flown out the window. IF he wants to be in the UFC, he's gonna have to settle for a ton less then what he could've gotten..

I'm glad there was a finish in the Thomson/Haley fight. If there was ever a case for 10-10 rounds that was it.

I thought Cyborg was gonna get Lesnar'd. I'm not familar with Finny's skills but it looked like that leg lock was there a lot more than the one time she tried it.

                  Great show from Cung Le.

Whatever chance I thought Werdum had, even then I wouldn't have thought it'd be that fast.

Absolutely proves the point I've been saying all along. Sure Fedor can win vs. average talent...but names like Werdum beating Fedor only make me smile because Werdum is #4-#5 best HW in the UFC IF EVEN that.....Fedor would get murdered by a guy like Brock, lets just be real.....

                      Exactly.

I'm not a Fedor fan, but the overall reaction of this thread to the outcome of this fight is ridiculous, IMO. Age had nothing to do with it. He got caught in a submission by an incredible submission artist. GSP (my favorite fighter) lost to Serra. Anderson lost to the cat that pulled off that incredible flying heel hook.

It's MMA. Even the best fighters lose.

Fedor got caught and the earth is still rotating on it's axis. It's quite remarkable. Hogfan: it was Ryo Chonan that caught Silva with the flying heelhook. That was insane!

SMFH. As much as I despised Fedor's decisions I am very shook up by him losing to Werdum.

Man, really seemed like Fedor fell for the bait and followed Werdum to the ground. I thought the first punch Fedor hit Werdum with was solid but the second (the one that dropped him) Werdum almost looked like he fell on purpose and didn't appear out of sorts at all. Fedor got overaggressive going for the finish and it cost him. Stuff like that happens in MMA. Definitely a huge shocker though.

I don't think this loss was a big deal, it was long overdue because like people have said he got outsmarted and got caught. Could of happened just as easily in his prime. It happens to the best fighters because of the the nature of the sport and Fedor was just incredibly lucky it never happened before. Does anybody have any doubt that Fedor will destroy this guy in a rematch because he knows the tricks he's gonna pull just like Mir did with Lesnar the 1st time who didn't fall for it the next time out and Mir got destroyed. This fight showed me nothing except Werdum got cute and it worked out. That cuteness won't help him when they fight again.

I think this loss does nothing to Fedor's reputation unless he loses the rematch and Fedor's last contractual fight will be the rematch. Fedor is only 33, he's got some years left.
