If Dana doesn't care anymore, then why not just leave everything to do with Fedor alone and move on with life? Seems to me like Dana is acting like a jilted lover that can't get over being rejected and that he cares a lot more than you think.

I feel that Fedor is somewhat on the decline, but as I said earlier, this may light a fire under him that causes Fedor to come back stronger, or maybe not....only time will tell.

Why are you acting like this is new? Dana is hyper competitive. Dana does this to everyone who isnt on his team. Want to know why you dont see "Clinch Gear" in the UFC? Cause its owned by Henderson and Henderson is no longer with the UFC. Dana's job is to promote the UFC and make sure his company does well. His approach has always been to crush anyone he perceives as a threat. Whether its Affliction, Strikeforce, Henderson or Fedor.

Him and the Fertititas were practically on their knees begging him to fight in the UFC last year. Would have made Fedor by far the highest paid MMA fighter ever. Could have had some incredible fights. But Fedor and his mobbed up business partners had to demand co-promotion which they knew was a non starter with the UFC. After that he became a threat and Dana does what he always does.

Fedor is pretty much screwed. He has 1 SF left. He had one PPV fight option and that was against Overeem. They cant give him a title fight against Overeem coming off of a loss (SF did give Rogers one in the same situation but that was ridiculous). Even with this upset, Werdum/Fedor 2 isnt a PPV worthy event. So more likely than not the rematch happens on CBS in November and Fedor misses out on his PPV chances.

Even if he wins his next fight, he's lost his leverage. The UFC isnt about to pay him what they offered him a yr ago now that he lost to someone the UFC cut. SF/Showtime wont give him the same sweet deal he got last time because his aura of invincibility and alot of his casual appeal went away with this loss. Also SF losing money because they are paying him such a ridiculous amount (also have to share the gate and TV revenues w/M-1 global for his events) so they have no incentive to pay him a ton. Fedor could make money in Japan w/ Dream but does anyone want to see him fight Minowaman and Bob Sapp?

I think Fedor will get a title shot just based on his rep alone and no one is going to object. Doesn't really matter if he's coming off a loss. The word integrity doesn't come to mind with MMA matchmaking. They are barely above the WWE in that regard.

If Fedor beats Overeem then it just garners interest in a rematch with Werdum. If he loses against Overeem then it looks like he is fading and the loss last nite wasn't a fluke.

I hear you regarding his rep but SF was getting killed by the media for giving Rogers a title shot after a loss. I think it devalues the belt by giving Fedor a shot coming off a loss. Plus Werdum deserves it with a win over Fedor and over Antonio silva.

Yes, because the Fertitas have never had any connection to the "mob". I'm sure Dana didn't learn any tricks from them because they are so straight line, come on now man. Dana is not only just competitive, he is acting like a *bleep*. It doesn't surprise me that Dana does stuff like this (not anymore, at least) but it doesn't make it right or mean that I have to agree with it.

Furthermore, you act as if Fedor is wrong for not signing with the UFC. I would like to know how Fedor is wrong for wanting to do his own thing? I could see if he talked garbage about being the best ever and then refused to sign with the UFC where "The best Heavyweights" are. Fedor doesn't really seem to care about his legacy or about being the best ever, and I have never heard him say a word to the opposite. Fedor is a humble guy that fights for Russia, God and his family, not for status in MMA history.

How is Fedor wrong for the UFC approaching HIM with a deal (not the other way around from the info that I have) and Fedor refusing because the deal wouldn't fit in with HIS plans? I just don't get it. It's like getting mad at a guy for not buying stock in McDonald's because he wants to start his own restaurant chain. Sure, it MAY fail or he may not make as much money, but why knock the guy for wanting to do his own thing and be happy? Fedor is allowed to pursue his own business ventures that don't involve putting more money in a shady guys pocket like Dana White. And seeing how Dana White treats people that he doesn't like, I wouldn't want to work with him either if I had other options.

Dana White and the UFC aren't the be-all and end-all in life. People (in MMA) are allowed to have other dreams and aspirations that don't require Dana White's approval/involvement regardless of how "minuscule" their chances are at succeeding.

That's what happens when you spend 4 years avoiding solid competition. Now let's end this stupid crap and get Fedor fighting the best HW's in the world in the UFC. The man can obviously fight but when you fight a bunch of crap for 4 years it's easy to get a little overconfident. There's no way Fedor is done at 33 but he does need to up his opponents' skill level.

Fedor's the greatest heavyweight of all time, but he's not heads above everyone else anymore.

I honestly like Fedor, but got sooooooooooo f'n tired of all the Fedor nut huggers out there. Fedor's actually a humble and solid person, he's a fighter I like. I personally just like this loss so all the Fedor nut huggers have to chill the f out. All those people who act like Fedor is the father of their children just got very tiring to listen to and read in online forums.

I'd still love to see him fight the best in the UFC, even with the HW division being somewhat weak I still think that the UFC roster is deeper and stronger than Overreem/Werdum (SF has no one else that solid, UFC has Lesnar/Carwin/Cain/JDS/Nog/etc)

It will be very interesting how this loss affects M1 Global though...

M1 was using Fedor's undefeated record and legend to push companies around (exactly like the UFC does) and get their co-promotion deals to make tons of cash. I don't think they have the leverage now, where does it really make sense for Strikeforce to give as much cash to M1 as they used to? Fedor's still a great fighter, but it was that "never beaten" mystique that they were using to sell him...

Plus the Fedor PPV's didn't really sell that great anyways, so who knows....

wanted to throw something else out there. Wasn't Fedor's pride days trips to Japan which I would think are much easier than going to California to fight.

Fedor's got to be affected with the amount of travelling he does to get to his fights. Anyone know how early he comes out before his fights? Going to Japan must have been worlds easier for him/on him.

It goes both ways though, as UFC "nut huggers" have been a pain in the *** since before PRIDE went under. This is just another thing for trolls to go on about, and a reason why I try to stay out of MMA forums everywhere.

It's always going to come down to the same crap on either side whenever Fedor is mentioned.

How? Fedor just lost to Werdum in a minute.

Carwin absolutely mauled Frank Mir who is better than anyone Fedor has beaten in a very, very long time.

I actually like Fedor, but I don't see how he's still so vastly superior to the UFC heavies after last night.
