But the question is how does he get that one shot? At range Jones has a tremendous reach advantage,in close Shogun gets taken down. Jones would have to be goated into a slugfest. Since there hasn't really been any hate or trash talk I don't see that happening.

While it's true Jones hasn't faced a striker as good as Shogun,Shogun hasn't faced a wrestler as good as Jones, nor such an unpredictable fighter. Dude could go out there throwing Street Fighter hurricane kicks.

People making it seem like it's impossible to beat Jones

I predict this fight to go down like the BJ Penn vs Frankie Edgar fight. It will be a passing of the torch. Might go down as fight of the year.

It's not. It's just very difficult. But logically speaking what can Shogun do exactly? He has the hand speed but the range kinda cancels that. He has the power and leg kicks but the wrestling cancels that. He's only had 1 submisson win so where that MIGHT negate the wrestling...

I'd say Shogun's best chance is to catch him during one of his crazy strike attempts.

It's so funny because it's not far-fetched at all.

Jones has had a big day already.

Jones, Jackson and Winklejohn pursued him on foot. Jones, the youngest of the group at 23, caught up to the robber and tripped him to the ground. Jackson told Yahoo!'s Kevin Iole that Jones "foot swept" the suspect.

With the robber on the ground, Jackson began yelling to his fighter to stay away. Once the trainers caught up to downed robber, Jackson jumped on him and applied an armbar. Winklejohn went for the other arm to make sure he didn't have a weapon. In the scuffle, the robber was bloodied. The trainers said some blood got on their pants. Shortly after, the police arrived to arrest the suspect.

I love that once he hit the ground Greg Jackson immediately put the guy in an armbar.

Thats crazy. If I had a title shot tonight, I'd probably let the robber go. Cant risk an injury.

Jones is my second favorite fighter so I cant root against him but the overhype is getting ridiculous. One, Jones have never faced a striker on the level of Shogun. His biggest wins are against Bader, Vera, Bonner and Hamill. None of those guys are elite strikers.

Two, we havent seen Bones go three rounds since Bonner and never against elite competition. We've seen Rua do against Machida. Finally, we have no idea how the nerves and a short camp are going to affect Jones.

I think he has a good chance of winning but I could easily see Rua win.

Rua hasn't fought in almost a year......And he is coming off of knee surgery again, so I am wondering if he has any ring rust. Should be a hell of a fight, I expect no feeling out process and they go blazing at each other right from the beginning.

Great Shields/GSP promo. Does the job of selling Shields to the UFC fans who never saw him in Strikeforce. 6 weeks away. Cant wait to go to Toronto.
