BUT, i'd love to see it

but Dana would never do it because most of the strikeforce guys would beat most of the UFC guys

UFC & Dana are all about promotion, marketing, and revenue, which is completely understandable

I can recall a year or 2 ago, when there was talk of arranging a Lesnar-Fedor fight, even Dana endorsed it
but you know, Fedor would KILL brock,...this coming from a GiNormous BrockLesnar fan, but he doesnt have the experience & mma-accumen Fedor and many others do

anyway, yes, it'd be really cool if there were cross-promo fight cards or just one BIG MMA LEAGUE with levels ranging from Novice to Elite

LOL...Where the hell do you get your info? First, Here are Strikeforce's top 3 fighters right now.....Diaz, Melendez and Fedor/Overeem. Diaz went 6-4 in the UFC, Melendez's biggest win is over overrated Shinya Aoki and Fedor's last loss was to a guy that went 2-2 in the UFC.

Where do you get that most SF guys would beat UFC guys? Are you serious?

Second, I have no idea where you heard Dana endorsed a Lesnar/Fedor copromoted fight. That never happened. If Dana was in favor of any kind of copromotion, we would have seen Fedor in the UFC two yrs ago. Copromotion was the main reason Fedor chose SF over the UFC.

Finally, There is no reason why Dana should or would ever copromote with SF. The UFC is seen by MMA fans as the clear #1 promotion by far. 85-90% of the top fighters in the world fight in this league. No sane MMA fan considers SF even close to being on the UFC's level. Most casual fans dont even know what the hell SF is or can name even 5 SF fighters. Why would Dana ever agree to copromote with a league that isnt even seen as being on its level?

I say this as a SF fan who never misses an event. Its insane for someone to argue that top SF fighters would definitely beat top UFC fighters. Could some win? Sure. Would most win? No. There is a reason those fighters are in the #2 ranked promotion and not the #1.

I was going to head into NYC today to see the fighter meet and greets, but I passed on it because I figured it would be packed and the most I'd be able to do was meet a few of the fighters. It seems I was right after reading a few posts made by people who attended. Fedor left early and they said it was so unorganized that it was close to impossible to get to the fighters.
That should be cool, last few years SF came to Chicago........really wish I would have gone. Maybe they will come back around here to chi-town.

I'll be glued to showtime saturday night, yeah

As far as my UFC vs SF comparision/opinion, i mostly watch the heavyweights, and that is 'mostly' what i was thinking/referring to

I've had the opportunity to see mostly SF on TV the last few years compared to UFC

But I truly think Fedor, Vai Cavalo & Overeem would take out Cain Velasquez or Brock.

Junior dos Santos is the one I really have my eye on.
He could be the 'sleeping giant' of all the heavyweights.
His TKO over Fabricio plus his many other impressive wins makes me think he could make 'easy work' of Lesnar and maybe even Cain.

SF couldnt hold a match to UFC's LHW's, but I think Jacare is just as good as Anderson Silva in the MW division

so OVERALL, i retract & modify my opinion, i believe SF's HW's are better than UFC's

Antonio Silva will skyrocket in Sherdog if he can beat Fedor this weekend, and if he does, I put him in the top 5 because I think he is better than Overeem.

LOL...Much better. Still disagree with you but much better. I just dont get how anyone can say Overeem is a top 5 HW. His biggest victory at HW is over Brett Rogers. He is 3-6 against former and current UFC fighters with his only wins coming against Vitor (Who was fighting at HW), Buentello and Todd Duffee. I just dont see it. I know he is a dangerous striker and winning K-1 proved it but he has never shown that he can beat high level HWs.

My view of MMA is show dont tell. Show me you can beat top HWs. Overeem has won 9 in a row against cans like Goodridge, Buentello and James Thompson. That doest prove to me that he can beat top HWs. If he wins this tournament it would prove alot to me. Beat Werdum, Fedor and Barnett and I'll be ready to give him a place in the top 2.

I'll ignore the "Jacare is as good as Silva" line. Thats just ridiculous.

Re: Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Silva - Feb 12, 2011

Bottom line...I love MMA and can not wait to see this fight

I like both guys, but I'd love to see Silva upset Fedor, it'd be a huge win for him and he's come a long way
He only lost by decision against Fabricio (which i thought couldve went either way), and he did better against Arlovski than I thought he would
then he TKO'd Mak, which was huge

so its a 'crossroads-fight' for both guys IMO

If Fedor wins, he silences all of the doubters and gets a shot at Overeem, whom I think he can crush

If Silva wins, he is the real deal, and can probably beat Overeem.

This is more intresting than originally thought.

Werdum has beaten Fedor,Silva and Overeem but lost to Kharitonov.
Kharitonov fought Overeem twice and is 1-1 and was beaten by Fedor's brother.
Arlovski beat Werdum and lost to Fedor and Silva.
Rogers beat Arlovski but lost to Fedor and Overeem.
Barnett hasn't fought any of them but lost to Fedor's brother.

woo vodka and a fedor fight. Hopefully the whole tourney happens without some BS, cause I think Overeem wins the whole thing.

Sucks that all the quarterfinal fights aren't on this card though. Kind of odd.
