They arent doing great but they have Showtime and Viacom bankrolling them so they should be fine for a little while. The plan with this Tournament is to get Fedor a couple of wins and set up an eventual Fedor/Overeem PPV or CBS fight.

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
Thing is I would have really liked to see Fedor get the chance to avenge his loss before he fought Alistair.
Fedor was in control in that match.. I'm still upset that he fell into that trap.Comment

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
Thats SF's fault. Should have booked Fedor/Overeem when they had the chance. SF doesnt want Overeem to go another full yr without defending the belt and Werdum is the only reasonable challenger.Comment

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
Well since they went this route with the tourney, which I am in favor of, I would have liked to see it set up like:
Fedor v Silva
AA v Werdum
The winners of those face each other
Alistair v Sergei
Barnett v Rogers
Making it possible for Fedor/Alistair to meet in the final
That would have been ideal to me.Comment

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
I like the idea bt why, oh why, did Strikeforce set it up so that the winner of Fedor/Silva fights the winner of Overeem/Werdum and the winner of Arlovski/Kharitonov fights the winner of Barnett/Rogers? Wouldn't it make more sense to want to build up to a possible final fight of Fedor vs. Overeem or Werdum instead of having the winner of Overeem/Werdum fight Fedor in the 2nd round assuming Fedor gets by Silva?PSN: ScoopBrady

Now that they have said that the belt is on the line from the beginning this makes more sense.PSN: ScoopBrady

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
Yea. Now it makes it like Overeem vs. Werdum for the title with Fedor/Silva being the #1 contender fight. Then the other side of the bracket is to set up the next contender after that. I really don't have much interest in seeing any of Rogers, Barnett, Kharitanov, or Glass Joe fighting for the title.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
well it's still a HW tourney, which is awesome. If it actually rolls off as planned, it's great for SF and MMA. I just hope that given how M1 was likely in on this being put together, there won't be any BS when Fedor has to face either Overeem or Werdum.Comment

Re: Strikeforce 2/12/11 HW Tournament Round 1 (part 1)
So how does Werdum approach this fight against Overeem? I really don't see Werdum getting this to the ground and there is no way he stands with Overeem for three rounds..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment

Same way he fought Fedor. Try and bait Overeem into jumping into his guard.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Yeah, no way Overeem jumps into his guard. And even if he does, in a cage he'll probably just press Werdum against it and beat the **** out of him..::..::::::::.:.:.:.:....:::.:.::::..:.:::....:::: ...:..::."When you're an assassin, you don't have a conscience"-Gilbert ArenasComment
