There's also a 1hr primetime special on Oct 30th to hype up the fight.
The nature of MMA is just something people have to accept, whether it's injuries or card swaps.

If they can get Bendo/Guida and Hendo/Rua or Machida, that would be just as good or better than JDS/Cain.

To see how fast things are looking up in the sport is amazing to me. It's like we're experiencing the golden glory days of MMA. Hard to compare it to an era in another sport, but I feel like we're living in what will be esteemed history. Maybe like the 80's in the NBA? IDK.
Whats funny is my GF asked me last week "Why are you so obsessed with this sport?". I explained to her that its because its the only sport I can say I watched from its very beginning and watched it grow into an significant sport. Basketball, Baseball and Football were all established well before I was born. These are awesome times.

Dana said it during the press conference "It isn't official until I announce it" and he never officially announced Cain v. JDS for San Jose.

I'm just praying there are no injuries. This fight will be huge for the entire sport.

Even though I just started truly following the sport just after PRIDE folded, I still feel very lucky and fortuante to be able to have said I was a fan from that point on. I really do appreciate all of these cards. UFC/WEC/Strikeforce and the others that have folded recently.

Not that I'm complaining, but is this going to be the only televised fight on Fox?

Yes it will be. If it ends early they will show prelims most likely

I wish we were getting a full card or at least a couple of other fights televised but I'm not going to complain since now we're getting 2 free title fights in a little over a month.

I remember when I was in 8th grade (2001), my buddy and I would wall around to the video store and rent UFC tapes. I remember getting the game on PS1. I stopped watching it for a bit b/c the store stopped carrying the tapes and I had no clue how to keep up w/ it.

Then at random times I would catch pride events, I would never remember the time or channel.

It's just amazing to see this sport evolve the way it has. I talk to my middle school players and UFC is bigger than wrestling to them.

Here is the promo that aired yesterday during MLB:

The UFC is all grown up.

                            Henderson/Guida added to this card.

Hmm. They wouldn't just bury that on a Facebook prelim. Maybe they can still pull off something with Spike? FX probably has college football on at the time so I doubt they will be able to show an hour of prelims.

Unless Cain/Dos Santos ends round 1 we won't see that fight because there's a high chance that it goes 3 rounds.

FX isn't able to show UFC fights until the Spike TV contract runs out after this year.

The only option the UFC has is to stream it live on the internet and/or air a reply on Fox if there is enough time left on the broadcast.
