I would say it is still some what aggressive. But like night and day difference from 2010. They still do push forward but it feels realistic. If you get them hurt, they will back off and recoup. If they think they have you in trouble are winning the striking battle they will control the center of the octagon.

Overall like I said not perfect but much much improved!

I am interested to fight Machida also. I hope he is back pedaling a good bit, but he does still fight coming forward in real life so it should be a good balance.

One thing I want people to realize it we can't get hung up on "styles" to a large degree. We want guys to fight like themselves but MMA is a blur the lines type of sport also. While Thiago Alves is a fierce striker with brutal kicks and knees. He also is dominate on the ground and has great take down defense. So seeing Alves take it to the ground and deliver brutal ground and pound while might not fit the model of how you view Thiago fighting. It does fall in line with real life realism to a degree. No differently than how Maia has been working on his hands and has shown sparks of decent striking in his last few fights. For instance against Weidman he attempted to keep it standing and striking which if this happened in the game people would be screaming from the heavens he does not fight like his self. So just keep things like that in mind, we want the A.I. to have a certain "style" for that fighters strengths but also adapt to the fight.

I understand what you mean Phobia, the ai adaptation would be great. Like Maia against Weidman, he stood and striked because he kept getting takedown. it would just be nice to see if each fighter has a go to arsenal. GSP with his takedowns control the ground, Machida, with his very careful counterstriking, Rampage with Power Boxing, etc etc.

just something over a period of time, if I didn't know who these guys were, i would still be able to conclude: "ok this guy is an aggresive striker, this guy is a BJJ specialist. " Something like that.....

hopefully it delivers, won't get my hands on the game for 2 weeks, still away for work, so I'll be looking for more gameplay impressions, especially from you.

If you finish a guy with an 84 overall, he will remain a 84 overall.

If you take that Career mode fighter and make a copy of him, the copy will not be an 84. He will be a 75 (the default rating).

If you download a fighter from fighter share, his ratings will not come over and he will be a 75.

Ohhh ok, so 75 is default got it now! As long as you don't copy and just retire your fighter then your finished rating you can use online.

It is a short coming for sure, but I rather this for fairness online than the disaster that 09 & 10 had with CAFs.

So only option would be to career mode guys you want in. Another words just run through a career with CAF Fedor. While not perfect by any means, I see the reason for it. Only fair way to have fighter share in with full ability to edit ratings anyway you want is not allow those fighters used online. Only in game guys & Career mode fighters.

My little brother-in-law knows nothing about MMA and I am teaching him. When we were playing the full game, I hit rematch for the Condit vs Hughes fight and handed him the controller. He was cursing up a storm "He is constantly trying to take me down............Aggggggg I can't get this **** off me." So as a simple response to your desires, he knew right away "this guy Matt Hughes who ever he is likes to take it to the ground"! Loved every second of it hahaha

Yeah that sucks. I had about 30 CAF's in UFC 10 and only went through career mode once. I have a list of about 20-25 CAF's that I really wanted this year, but they're going to have to be damn good in order for me to pay for them.

Yep, the only issue is going to be with the higher rated guys like a prime Fedor or Sakuraba. If I want to create someone like a Jake Ellenberger or Johny Hendricks. Condit is rated 88 and I think those guys are in the 84-87 range. Doing career mode to get them in that range is only about 2-3 hrs per fighter.

If you dont want to wait that long, just pay the 3 bucks. It sucks that it has to be that way but THQ is more concerned about preventing super CAFs than helping people create realistic CAF's offline.

That's a real bummer about the CAF ratings not transferring over. I'm not really all that great at making them, but I was hoping to stock up on the good ones through fighter share. Paying $3 bucks a pop is kind of garbage, but I'll likely do that instead of running through career mode every time I want to boost their stats. I guess having an option is better than nothing.

Great impressions, Phobia. I haven't been this excited to play a game in quite a while. I haven't got my hands on the retail version yet, but I've put in countless fights with the demo. I don't know if anything has been tweaked from that, but I'm noticing on Advanced they go for a lot more clinches and takedown attempts than on Experienced. It keeps me on my toes and it's likely going to be the difficulty I play on. I still lose a lot more than I win on that setting, and I suck horribly on the ground, but I'm at least competitive in most fights.

Has anyone with the game played in Career Mode? I'm kind of curious how ratings work when you use a real UFC fighter. Do they start with their regular stats or are they dumbed down?

Pappy I noticed the CPU aggressive must be tweaked in full retail OR that just the demo fighters are meant to push the action more. I know Silva & Jones are both excellent strikers. Plus Rampage and Wandy are both known to hunt for the KO, so it was either tweaked or those guys naturally fight more aggressive.

I have tried all the difficulty levels and one of the most impressive things I found is Ultimate is not cheap. I never felt as if the CPU was cheating me or it had a unfair advantage.

I read that you start from scratch if you do a career with a roster fighter. So you could make a Chuck Liddell super BJJ fighter if you really wanted

The boost does not come with the season pass. Its separate DLC.
