Hes great with takedowns and wrestling, and a decent jab but besides that hes average. masterful MMA-ist? hardly. Anderson Silva and Bones Jones are well rounded fighters. They could be called masterful MMA-ist.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Or the Condit fight. Or the Fitch fight. He tries to finish fights. He didnt try tonight but he tries to finish fights.

Anderson Silva cant wrestle. Jon Jones's punches are average. Every fighter has weaknesses. Doesnt mean GSP isnt a masterful "mma-ist". Whatever that is.

He has the best overall ground game in the welterweight division (Maia could stake a claim to this now that he moved to WW as well). Nick Diaz who has "amazing" bjj couldn't do ANYTHING against him on the ground. His top control is second to none.

Whats next for Ellenberger? Maia for the #1 contender after Hendricks?

I tweeted that matchup to Dana just after Ellenberger's fight. I'm hoping that it happens.

Diaz's interview on the post fight show is amazing. In one sentence he asked for a rematch, said he should retire, blamed the loss on lack of sleep and Canada and said Gsp hits like a girl.

They should've let Diaz keep talking on Fuel.

Diaz definitely lost me after this fight. I didn't like his craziness and his illogical theories but I loved his showmanship when he stepped into the cage. There were just so many things that he did wrong tonight that I can't root for the guy anymore.

The cheap shots after the bell, saying GSP hits like a bitch, him not really giving props to GSP after GSP gave him props and retiring like a quitter because he lost. What a joke. Why the **** do you want to rematch GSP? He ran you over for 25 minutes.

I love GSP as a person and respect him as a fighter but as usual his fight didn't really entertain me. He dominated like he usually does but he's my least favorite champion in terms of entertainment value. He had takedowns and jabbed to death. I mean the guy is on another level but he isn't must watch t.v. to me anymore.

GSP's chin looked a tad questionable for a moment but then he just scored a takedown again, lol. I hope Hendricks can make the fight entertaining and keep it standing.

                          Diaz man...

The post press conference this guy is something else. Wants a rematch now, even said he'd fight Anderson Silva.

Made a billion excuses, pretty much made every excuse there was to be made...and then kept saying "I'm not going to make any excuses."

Diaz did even less "fighting" than GSP. Most of GSP's opponents go into a full defensive shell. But when he did have opportunities to attack in the 4th. He taunted instead of bringing the fight to GSP. For someone who incessantly whines about opponents not fighting, that is precicely what Diaz did vs GSP, not fight.

It's not as black and white as you put it though. As you said yourself, GSP's opponents go into full defense mode because they have no chance at defending GSP's takedowns. Makes it nearly impossible to freely stand up and strike.

When they did fight a bit on the feet, GSP just stuck with his usual jab jab jab jab routine. When they actually did have some exchanges, Diaz staggered GSP for a moment before GSP decided enough was enough and scored another takedown.

Again not taking anything away from GSP. I'm just saying that it's not like Diaz could really get into serious stand up exchanges due to GSP's takedowns. He had to be very cautious in that regard.

So what you're saying is GSP's game plan was damn near perfect?
