I'm curious as to what his background and childhood were like.

Knowing the area better than I want to, I'll venture a guess and say probably not very pleasant.

Not making excuses for him, but this may be more of a psychological thing instead of him being a complete idiot

Oh, I'm sure it is. The crime rate there is obscenely high, there's a lot of poverty, its been ranked as the third least literate city in America and is also the largest city ever to file for bankruptcy.

I can almost guarantee that if he had grown up elsewhere he wouldn't be as out there as he is.

He may actually need some pretty extreme help. He and his brother. I wonder if Dana has tried that.

I dont think Nate needs help at all. With the exception of him missing a photo shoot a few months back, the UFC has had no issues with Nate.

I'm speaking more from a personal perspective and not necessarily his usefulness to UFC.

I think he meant more along psychosocial lines. If they both still keep the same company and do the same stupid **** that brought their city down to where it was.

Its one thing to be proud of where you're from no matter what, its entirely different to try to keep the streets with you. The streets have never done anything good for anyone in the long run.

Nate being more professional doesn't mean there aren't issues that may need to be worked out. Especially if he thinks (not that I know what goes on in his head) that the things his brother has done/does/will do are alright.

My issue with that is I dont see him doing the "same stupid ****." No arrests. No reports of street fights. No criminal activity at all. The craziest thing I've heard of Nate doing was his involvement in the Strikeforce brawl. From all accounts all the Diazs do is go to the gym, smoke weed, run triathlons and then go to the gym again. What makes you think even Nick is "in the streets?" Cause he got pulled over in a car he was a passenger in? Cause he smokes weed?

I just think we are jumping to a ton of conclusions about the Diazs' makeup based on Nick's socially awkward behavior and a cop pulling his friend over.

GSP is out for at least 6 months. Injured achilles prior to the Diaz fight. It is on the same leg he had operated on.

Diaz. You couldn't even look halfway decent against an injured GSP. Smh.

Looks like Hendricks will be waiting

And I don't like the sounds of this for GSP and that knee

If it goes beyond 6 months, like if GSP have to have surgery again, we might end up with a Condit vs Diaz 2, with the winner of that fighting Hendricks for Interim Champion.

No way. They need to go ahead and schedule Ellenburger vs. Maia ASAP. That winner can fight Hendricks for the intern title if it comes to that.

That would work too. All comes down to who is healthy. I highly doubt Dana will want Hendricks sitting on the sidelines for 6 months or more waiting on GSP. Feel bad for GSP though, looks like injury probably be the thing that ends his reign. This also makes the super fight between him and Anderson Silva to never happen.

You start having leg injuries, the last thing you want to do is gain a lot of weight. And I highly doubt Anderson can drop down to 170 at his current age.
