That's what McGregor sees and wants.
And as much as UFC/MMA fans might hate it, this is precisely what will happen eventually.
McGregor has already started this process. He forced UFC to allow him to fight at 170 and get a rematch at that weight.
That in itself tells you how much pull he has. Eventually, the Mike Tyson of MMA is going to come along and the whole system is going to come down.
You need fighters to make that happen and the UFC has 95% of the fighters. Conor can only press it but so far because if he ever leaves....who would he fight.

I'm a huge MMA fan. I order 8-10 PPVs a year. I dont miss a card whether its Bellator, WSOF or UFC. If Conor McGregor went to Bellator and fought on a PPV against Will Brooks or Eduardo Dantas or any other top Bellator fighter.....im probably not buying the fight. I dont think most of you are either.

I love watching Conor fight but the reason people have paid for his last 3 fights has been because of the competition too. People wanted to see if Conor could be a wrestler (Mendes). Then the best FW ever (Aldo). A WW who is 2 classes above Conor (Diaz).

If he leaves the UFC, there is no one legitimate to face Conor. You cant be "bigger than the game" if you need the UFC to give you opponents to draw.

Even though I can't see how a fight with Nate (who I love) is 200 main event worthy if not against Conor or for a belt.
      Couldnt agree more.

Regarding the main event, if Jones walks through OSP this weekend. Its Jones/Cormier. Nate wont be the main event unless he fought someone like GSP.

Conor claims he's back on the card. If that's true, Game, Set, Match. Conor 1 UFC 0. I have a feeling a couple ninjas about to get paid.

Honestly, sounds like Conor's just talking **** trying to force the UFC's hand, apparently he did the same thing on a Mexico card with Diego Sanchez a while back

Yea probably. I meant to say in my previous post, if this is true then the inmates can now start to run the asylum. And you have people like Rousey, Conor, JBJ, etc all not doing any press obligations and just training for their fights.

                    Re: UFC 200

Meh.... I'm perfectly fine with Conor being back on with the card.

When your the face of an organization it's a lot different than being some average guy in the middle. Plus, it not like half of the roster could afford to make a play like Conor can. When you're making millions per fight it's on thing, but when you're making 30k per fight and basically have to fight to pay your mortgage it's another. I mean, those mid-level guys could try to pull a stunt like that, but most people aren't buying a PPV if they're on the card or not so it's not a big deal to the UFC to replace them.

It's definitely not the fairest thing in the world, but life's not fair and the top level people get treated preferential treatment in all walks of life. Do you really thing that the Cavs would have let Matthew Dellavedova or Sasha Kaun off a few games in the middle of the season to go to Miami? Yet LeBron got to.... because he is that team and is one (if not the) top players in the NBA.

All and all the UFC is out some money due to not shooting the commercial, but at this point you can't turn back the time and they're that money regardless. They're either going to have to have a re-shoot with Conor or with someone else might as well recoup that money by throwing your big fish out there.

I'm not.......I don't care how much money he generates. You gotta draw a line somewhere. They can't keep letting this guy have his way. If Brock Lesnar of all people could fufill the media obligations, then I don't see why McGregor can't. Especially when he's the one who pushed for the damned rematch.

Conor is bull****ting and trying to pressure the UFC.

The UFC's official response according to ESPN is "The tweet is not accurate."

LOL, McGregor pokes the bear again. I wouldn't be surprised if he's announced as being back on the card by mid-week. Take a page out of the WWE playbook in ignoring stipulations.

Conor needs to be on UFC 200 card.

I just have a feeling DC might not be ready in time to fight Jon jones.

Me personally I rather see DC vs Jones as the main for UFC 200.

                              I'm a big DC fan...

Dana shot down the McGregor rumor. Guess it's time to move on. Jones vs. DC would be great. A GSP addition would be awesome as well.
