Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
That guy seems pretty cool but there's no way WWE lets him do some of those moves. The top rope and apron brainbuster and well as that Tombstone Slam just look way to dangerous.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I guess I just feel WWE could really capitalize if he keeps the mask and make him one of the top kids attractions...but I've been reading it sounds like he won't be keeping the mask unless he signs over the gimmick. Plus I saw with WWE being a public company if they would really want a Canadian playing a luchador, as some might take it as mocking.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Lots of good stuff:
- WWE officials recently re-evaluated the status of both Mark Henry and Christian. They hope Henry can return soon but nothing is 100% yet. Christian is still scheduled to be back by the end of January.
- There is talk of bringing back the RAW Roulette gimmick for the January 28th RAW from Las Vegas.
- Wade Barrett says his new nickname is The Prince. Here are a few tweets from last night with a quote from Niccolo Machiavelli's The Prince:
"As Intercontinental Champion, I am effectively 'The Prince' of @WWE. Beware the Machiavellian wiles of 'The Prince'."
"Wade Barrett: #ThePrince and heir to the @WWE throne."
"“If an injury has to be done to a man, it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared.” #ThePrince"
- WWE officials have been in contact with several celebrities about appearing at WrestleMania 29.
- WWE will tape three more episodes of NXT TV tonight from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be making a special appearance. It's possible that Big E Langston will drop the NXT Title at tonight's tapings since he is now on WWE's main roster.
- Randy Orton vs. Antonio Cesaro will take place on next week's WWE Main Event.
- Because they have done the DX reunion so many times, WWE officials have discussed doing an Evolution reunion, possibly at the RAW 20th Anniversary show next week. With Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton already in the building, the main issue would be getting Batista to come back for one night.
- Regarding The Rock winning the WWE Title from CM Punk, there is a lot of talk that the title change won't happen at the Royal Rumble. Instead, Rock would win the title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in the Chamber main event.
- WWE officials will be looking at several potential new talents in developmental next month.
- Several people were under the impression that Ricky Steamboat's angle with Santino Marella and Wade Barrett on RAW was being done to introduce his son Richie Steamboat to the main roster. However, a source reported on Tuesday that they are talking about changing Richie's name before bringing him to the main roster. Richie may be finishing up his time in NXT soon.
- As noted, the top four matches for WrestleMania 29 are booked and not likely to be changes. This isn't confirmed but those four matches may be The Rock vs. John Cena, Triple H vs. Brock Lesnar, Sheamus vs. Randy Orton and CM Punk vs. The Undertaker.
It's said that the rest of the card is still up in the air.
- As noted, Eve Torres vs. Kaitlyn in a Lumberjills Match for the WWE Divas Title will likely be added to Royal Rumble. This would play off the finish on Monday's RAW and make sure all the Divas get a Rumble payoff. With Big Show vs. Alberto Del Rio in a rematch for the World Heavyweight Title being planned for Rumble, it's possible that match may happen with some kind of stipulation also.
- With WWE making the switch to Alberto Del Rio as their top Latin babyface, there is talk that they have given up on Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in that role. The planned match between Rey and Cara for WrestleMania 29 may be off.
- As noted before, WWE has signed El Generico to a developmental deal. One of the main reasons they wanted him is because he speaks a number of different languages. The feeling is that will come in handy as an asset for international markets. Generico has canceled some indy events and will likely be headed to developmental soon. There's a feeling among some within WWE that he will no longer wrestler under a mask but that's not confirmed.
Generico's signing is said to be part of a bigger plan as WWE has a number of indy stars on their radar that they want to lock into deals. Word is that this is a Triple H move and more signings are coming.
Two of those potential signings are Adam Cole and Sami Callihan. Both of them have tryouts with WWE scheduled between now and the end of January.
The success of guys like Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins in mainly CM Punk and Daniel Bryan has caused a different feeling within WWE when it comes to talent coming up through the indies, and also talent that doesn't have the look, size and physique that used to be the first thing WWE looked for.
- Contrary to reports that independent wrestler El Generico has signed with WWE, PWInsider.com is now reporting that Generico has not yet signed with the company - and is currently undergoing WWE's vigorous physical examinations before he's offered a contract.
In the past, there have been several issues that led to WWE signings being delayed (Kassius Ohno & Daniel Bryan) and negotiations breaking down (Nigel McGuiness) pending the results of medical examinations.
- Alberto Del Rio won the World Heavyweight Title from Big Show this week because they want to shoot Del Rio up as the new Latin babyface Superstar since Rey Mysterio isn't around and Sin Cara has been categorized as a disappointment. Cara was actually ready to work this week and was not used.
The idea is that they will push Del Rio harder than Mysterio and Cara with the hopes of making a genuine Mexican draw out of him. This was actually the original idea when WWE signed Del Rio a few years ago.
The Last Man Standing stipulation was added to the match on SmackDown so Del Rio could survive tons of punishment before coming back to win the title.
There is talk that Del Rio's title win was originally planned for Monday's RAW but he wasn't there due to personal reasons so they moved it to Tuesday at the SmackDown tapings.Last edited by philliesfan136; 01-10-2013, 04:50 PM.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
May be lots of good stuff, but one very bad thing. The Rock shouldn't be winning the title at all. Not in January, not in February, not ever again, unless he plans on making appearances near-weekly and being around beyond Wrestlemania.Comment

Pure speculation, obviously, but what if Dolph cashed in on him either at Mania or the next night on Raw. How huge would that be.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
There's a list of his scheduled appearances between now and Mania. He's making a ton of appearances between now and Mania. Why would him being champ be a bad thing? I don't think anyone expects a long run from him. He wins it (either at RR or EC) and then drops it at Mania, in all likelihood. The only thing they can't, can't, can't let happen is him relinquishing the title. Someone has to beat him for it. Like it or not, though, whether he's part time or not, he's by far the biggest star in the company. Letting him hold the title isn't a bad thing, and someone beating him for the title would be a big deal.

And I said beyond Wrestlemania. To me, it is a complete waste if he shows up for 2-3 months and then drops the belt and we don't seem him for another year. Does absolutely nothing at all except damage the good thing Punk has going. I don't mind the Rock being involved, but that is a disgrace to be handed a title shot in July after not showing up since Wrestlemania, win the belt without ever becoming #1 contender, and then dropping it to Cena probably. And then we'll have to sit through 450+ days of Cena just so McMahon's Golden Boy can have the longest modern reign.Comment
