Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
- It was said to be a mess backstage at the WWE Battleground pay-per-view as the script was finalized the Friday before but now WWE creative isn't being told about the match finishes until about two hours before showtime, which is why the betting odds swings are taking place later than before. It's believed people in WWE call or text friends or family and have them bet for them, as opposed to people betting themselves from the arena.
- WWE will be turning Damien Sandow babyface soon. It was discussed earlier this year to have Sandow cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but lose. That idea appears to be off the table now and it looks like a World Heavyweight Title run is in his future.
Sandow was reportedly told not to do cartwheels and singing any more, in part because that's the gimmick for NXT's Aiden English now. Word is that Vince McMahon feels if someone on the main roster is doing the same gimmick as someone in NXT, it makes the main roster guy look like an amateur.
- It's been noted by several people within WWE that ever since Eric Pankowski left before SummerSlam, the booking has gone downhill. Pankowski, who was hired in February of 2012 as Senior Vice President of Creative and Development after a long career in Hollywood, was credited by many people for the great creative run that WWE had over the past year.
- For post-Hell In a Cell plans, it looks like the planned Big Show vs. Randy Orton feud will end up being a three-way program with Show vs. Orton vs. Daniel Bryan.
- The storyline where Triple H bought Big Show's house was lifted from CM Punk's DVD where he bought Joey Mercury's house when Mercury was having personal and financial problems.
- Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn "flipped their lids" when the power outage before the Battleground main event happened. It's said Vince is now paranoid that the same thing is going to happen at WrestleMania XXX because it happened during the Super Bowl in the same building that will host WrestleMania. Vince's concern is that not only are they running in the same building, but WrestleMania uses more power than the Super Bowl between lighting, pyro, production and everything else.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
- Tonight's WWE NXT tapings from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida will feature Christian and World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio.
For what it's worth, people within WWE believe that Hulk Hogan is staying with TNA. At the same time, there are people in WWE would like to have him for WrestleMania XXX but the question is do they want him bad enough to out-bid TNA.
It was noted by a WWE source that if they put either Randy Savage or The Ultimate Warrior in the Hall of Fame next year, Hogan could do their induction speech, plus some kind of angle with a mid-level heel on the actual pay-per-view.
With The Rock and Steve Austin very questionable for WrestleMania XXX, Hogan could be the person to deliver big numbers for WWE. Last year's WrestleMania numbers were disappointing and there's a feeling that The Rock appearing for the fourth straight year isn't going to pop the numbers this time around. Unless there is a major outside attraction, there's also a feeling that the only ting that will get WrestleMania back to its previous numbers is an announced retirement and final match for The Undertaker, something big with Hogan or something big with Austin.
- A fan mentioned on Twitter that Rob Van Dam is supposedly leaving WWE for a little while and then coming back. RVD replied:
"That pretty much sums it up."
Brian "Road Dogg" James has been gaining more influence within WWE as of late. Part of the reason why is because Michael "PS" Hayes was sent home several weeks back.
We noted at first that Hayes was given time off to deal with personal issues. Last night, word came out that Hayes may have been suspended indefinitely for offering alcoholic beverages to Rosa Mendes just days after she returned to work after a stint in rehab.
Hayes had been working with Triple H on booking live events, among other things. James is now filling in on that position and it was described as James being on the rise because Hayes gave him an opening. Besides doing TV events and live events, James is also working in the WWE offices quite a bit. Most of the wrestlers are happy with James' presence in creative meetings since he's been around the business so much longer than most of the decision makers, plus he talks the language of the wrestlers.
- We noted before that the only person WWE signed from their most recent training camp was 25 year old Dylan Miley, who is a bodybuilder type with a 37 inch vertical leap. While some people from the camp have been told in the past few days that they will be signed, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards had not heard anything from WWE as of October 8th. Both Edwards and Richards have people within WWE who want them signed. Sean Burke, Tony Delfonzo and Todd Hanson were also at the camp with Miley. They got e-mails on October 7th and were told to stay in touch but WWE was not going to sign them right now.
- As noted, Stephanie McMahon was upset at Dusty Rhodes for giving her a "face palm" in the middle of their in-ring segment on RAW two weeks ago. Stephanie was also upset because in that same segment, Dusty was veering off script and she was trying to steer him back.
- Many people assumed that WWE bringing back Shawn Michaels and John Cena for Hell In a Cell was their response to the negative reactions to the Battleground pay-per-view on Sunday. That isn't the case as Michaels has been scheduled to get involved in the Daniel Bryan storyline for several weeks and they were talking about Cena returning last week.
- Ted DiBiase Jr. seems serious about putting pro wrestling behind him. DiBiase is open to doing single indy dates or autograph shows but has no interest in anything on the road for more than a few days because he doesn't want to be away from his family. He has taken several jobs that will keep him busy.
- Ric Flair is back to taking bookings. After SummerSlam, WWE wanted Flair to get help and he canceled existing bookings, citing a reoccurring problem and hospitalization with blood clots in his legs. Flair told friends he was staying in Florida with his daughter, resting up and not traveling.
- It's unlikely that Wade Barrett's new gimmick will be the Badnews Barrett character we see on The JBL & Cole Show. Apparently it would be a big surprise if something they did on the YouTube show ever made it to TV. Still, there are plans to re-package Barrett just because the roster is lacking singles heel stars.
- John Cena is advertised to face Del Rio at WWE live events following the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. He has also been announced for the November 4th Raw taping at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC.
- WWE issued the following statement to PWInsider regarding reports that Michael Hayes has been suspend from the company:
"Michael is taking a leave of absence for personal reasons."
- There is at least talk within WWE of doing a Cody Rhodes vs. Goldust feud at some point over the next six months. The talk is that if they go through with the program, Goldust would be the heel and it would be done in early 2014.
- A few people in WWE creative have been thinking of angles for Bill Goldberg and Ryback, in case something gets worked out for WrestleMania XXX. It's not a done deal but it is something being talked about. There is a chance of Goldberg vs. Ryback happening because both sides have not closed the door on a WWE return.
- Several people in WWE believe that former football player turned NXT star Mojo Rawley is the breakout star with the most potential right now.
- As noted before, Christian was scheduled to return from a concussion at this weekend's WWE live events in matches against Alberto Del Rio.
WWE has since pulled Christian from those events. Del Rio will now defend the World Heavyweight Title against The Great Khali.
Christian is still advertised for the upcoming tour of Mexico and tonight's WWE NXT tapings from Full Sail University.Last edited by philliesfan136; 10-10-2013, 03:49 PM.Comment

- Booker T worked as special referee in the main event of tonight's WWE live event in Abu Dhabi, the first of the tour. The match saw Daniel Bryan defeat Randy Orton cleanly.
- Brad Maddox wrestled at tonight's WWE live event in Abu Dhabi. He lost to Justin Gabriel.
- WWE NXT Champion Bo Dallas and Sami Zayn competed in a triple threat against WWE United States Champion Dean Ambrose at the live event in Abu Dhabi. Ambrose won the match with his title on the line.
- The Miz spoke with The Khaleej Times about one of his goals he has while working for World Wrestling Entertainment.
"I've held every single title besides one: the World Heavyweight Championship," The Miz said. "I'm a four-time Tag Team champion, two-time United States champion, two-time Intercontinental champion, one-time WWE champion, two-time Slammy Award-winner.
"Every opportunity I get, I'm taking, and when I get the opportunity to go for the World Heavyweight Championship, guess what? I'm taking it."Comment

He's not a bad heel perse, it just seems he's stopped developing as a performer, after he took a big jump with his cash-in and what not. His heel gimmick wasn't too original, but at least he was pretty decent in the ring. He's just not cut out to be a face, unless he learns, being in the same gimmick, rarely ever works as a face or a heel.NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I don't necessarily agree with this. I do agree that he is a better heel then a face, but I think the reason he has kind of fallen off the table is because his in ring work has possibly regressed. It's like he put in all this hard work to try to improve and get better, then once he got a taste of the top stopped putting in those hours and relies too heavily on being The Miz.
While he's never outshining his opponent in great matches, he didn't really have bad matches before, and he's slowly slipping into that category on occasion now. He needs his heel mojo back before he ends up being permanent mid-card material.Supporting Leeds United, Colorado Rockies, Detroit Lions and the Colorado Avalanche!

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
- There were several re-writes on last night's Raw taping.
- Shawn Michaels will reportedly be appearing on next week's RAW also.
- WWE previously planned to have just one Cell match at this year's Hell In a Cell pay-per-view but Vince McMahon made the decision on Monday afternoon to have the Ryback vs. CM Punk and Paul Heyman match inside the Cell also.
- As of Monday afternoon, Bray Wyatt will not be wrestling at the Hell In a Cell pay-per-view but that could change in a week if he heals quicker. Word was that he will be kept out of the ring for four weeks.
- Zeb Colter hyped tonight's WWE tapings, writing on Twitter, "#WeThePeople....in #WWEKansasCity for #SmackDown. Who takes the ride on the BIG SWING TONIGHT courtesy @AntonioCesaro ? @WWE"
- WWE may have to pushed the planned bout between The Miz and Bray Wyatt for Hell in a Cell to the Survivor Series pay-per-view because Wyatt is not cleared to wrestle. Wyatt would torment and haunt The Miz as a way to build to the match until he is cleared to compete.
- - The dark main event after last night's RAW in St. Louis saw Daniel Bryan defeat Randy Orton with a running knee. Bryan cut a promo after the match but Orton laid him out with a RKO to end the show.
- Original plans for the WWE Tag Team Titles had Cody Rhodes and Goldust winning them at the Hell In a Cell pay-per-view but Vince McMahon made the decision on Monday afternoon to do the title change on RAW. The Usos vs. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns vs. Cody and Goldust is currently planned for Hell In a Cell.
- There are reports that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently finished up a stint in rehab, which is why he's back to taking bookings now. The story goes that Flair has been telling people he was resting up in Florida with his daughter but that's not the case as he was in rehab. Dave Meltzer of F4Wonline.com reports that WWE wanted Flair to go to rehab, he told his friends he didn't go but that doesn't mean he didn't.
- WWE is keeping their distance between Shawn Michaels and Triple H so that it's a bigger moment when they come face to face.
- WWE mentioning NXT star Xavier Woods in the Big Show storyline is because they're looking to bring him to the main roster soon. He's been recovering from a minor injury but WWE officials have been high on him for a while now. Woods tweeted after Michael Cole mentioned his Twitter petition to bring back Big Show on last night's RAW:
"Professor Xavier is a smart man & @MichaelCole knows that. Let's #BringBigShowBack Sign up!!!"
Before RAW, WWE had the petition linked on their website but after Cole mentioned it, the article was removed with the idea that Triple H had banned the petition from WWE.com. No word yet on when they plan on bringing Xavier to the main roster.
- Triple H vs. Big Show is being discussed for the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
- As noted earlier, WWE announced that Divas Champion AJ Lee has been medically cleared to wrestle following her concussion she suffered.
PWInsider is reporting that she probably wont be involved in an actual wrestling match until the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event, but that is always subject to change. The Bellas vs. AJ and Tamina has been discussed for the event.Last edited by philliesfan136; 10-17-2013, 07:53 PM.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
The company is apparently disappointed and puzzled that Brie Bella isn’t more over as a face...They can’t understand why there wasn't more sympathy for her when Tamina Snuka was beating her up this week.WWE Diva Brie Bella has been the recipient of a major push in recent months. Along with her sister, Nikki, she has been the focal point of E! reality show Total Divas. She's the current top challenger to A...
They can't?
Really? REALLY? [/miz]
Maybe...just maybe...it's because the diva's division is a complete mess and we have no clue who's heel and who's face. They switch on a weekly basis with no explanation. Plus people naturally like AJ regardless of her being heel or face. Also the Bellas probably still come off as bitches to most people from their theme alone.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
- Olympic wrestling coach James Johnson was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando this week.
- Richie Steamboat is still recovering from having back surgery last year. He's still under contract to WWE but it's unknown if he will be able to return to the ring.
- It's been noted how John Cena is Big E Langston's biggest supporter within WWE. With Cena back from injury already, look for Langston to be featured on WWE TV more. This goes with what was reported in our SmackDown spoilers this week.
- All new WWE contracts reportedly have a morality clause in them. Basically, if a talent has inappropriate photos or videos that can be found online or in print, they will not be signed. They have to sign a deal saying that no such material exists and if it happens to be found, not only will they not be hired but will be blacklisted from the company.
- WWE is currently working on a Rey Mysterio DVD to be released in 2014.
- After teasing a babyface return on last week's SmackDown, Damien Sandow was back to working as a heel on this week's episode of WWE Main Event as he defeated R-Truth.
- It was noted by someone in WWE how interesting it was that when officials wanted luchadors to face Los Matadores, instead of using Sin Cara they put Tyson Kidd under a mask with Ricardo Rodriguez as El Locals.
- The last time the WWE Title was defended in a TV match was the January 7th Ryback vs. CM Punk TLC match on RAW. Before that, the last title match was Punk vs. John Cena on the July 23rd, 2012 RAW. The last World Heavyweight Title match on TV was the day after WrestleMania when Dolph Ziggler cashed in on Alberto Del Rio. The last advertised World Title match was Del Rio vs. Big Show in a Last Man Standing match on January 8th.
- Tickets for the WWE Hell In a Cell pay-per-view in Miami are not selling at near a sellout pace.
- WWE officials are disappointed and puzzled that Brie Bella isn't getting over more as a babyface. They couldn't understand why there wasn't more sympathy for Brie when Tamina Snuka was beating her up this past week.
- As noted, Vince McMahon made the decision for Cody Rhodes and Goldust to win the WWE Tag Team Titles from Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on Monday's RAW, instead of Hell In a Cell. Apparently Vince wasn't happy that only heels had titles.
- As noted, Kane is able to return now that See No Evil 2 has wrapped filming. He is being advertised to team with Cody Rhodes and Goldust in a six-man match at the November 6th WWE live event in Columbia, South Carolina. The Shield is working an overseas tour that weekend so their opponents could be The Wyatt Family.
- Regarding signing new talents, there is no hard and fast rule but there's a belief within WWE that they have enough "small guys" and the problem with business is there are already too many and not enough "big guys." Unless someone is really good, WWE is not looking to sign small guys right now. They also don't want to sign ROH guys right now but that doesn't mean Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards won't get picked up.
There's a feeling that guys who work independents and travel and have somewhat of a name already have bad habits, and if they are at the higher level, if WWE signs them and even if they agree to take the pay cut to WWE entry level, that the talent won’t be happy over the long haul. It was also said WWE doesn't want talents who know they can get fired, go back to the indies and be successful without WWE. They want guys with the impression that their careers in wrestling depend on making it in WWE.
- The current plan is for John Cena to return to WWE TV for the October 28th RAW, the night after Hell In a Cell. WWE wants his first appearance back to be on the pay-per-view as opposed to putting him on the go-home show to build his World Heavyweight Title match against Alberto Del Rio.
- In 2008, WWE's total revenue from corporate sponsorships was $7.4 million. Now, after 5 years of pushing their PG product publicly and promising sponsors that there would be no more risque TV, the number is expected to hit $20 million this year.
- Rey Mysterio spoke with WWE.com about how he didn't have surgery but instead used stem cell treatment for his injury. Mysterio also confirmed that he will be appearing during WWE's tour of Mexico this week, but will likely not be wrestling.
"With this new procedure, it's been floating around in the air," Mysterio said. "There's not that much time left before the end of the year. I'm hoping that either Thanksgiving comes a little early or Christmas comes a little early."
Mysterio also mentioned that he might "try" to get physically involved during the tour. As for retirement, Mysterio said that he hasn't given it any thought, and while it's something "that'll be down the road," he has no plans to retire in the next two to three years.
- Triple H has once again sent the directive to re-focus on the WWE tag team division. The plan as he laid it out was to first get some teams ready in NXT to bring to the main roster, as well as take some talented guys on the main roster who officials recognize are underutilized and try and get them going as a tag team. Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel are one example of a new team we may see here soon.
- An internal WWE memo from a few years back recently leaked and stated a few things of interest:
* Vince McMahon no longer wants "Granddaddy of them all" using to describe WrestleMania because he feels it makes WrestleMania feel old and dated.
* Nobody can use the phrase "choke" for a submission move. Undertaker's Hell's Gate move was named Triangle submission hold.
* Producer Kevin Dunn stated that announcers can no longer use the phrase "title changes hands."
* Vince banned the use of terms "five star match" and "match of the year." As part of the memo banning those terms, Vince also wanted all announcers to "stop reading the dirt sheets" with the idea that it influences what they say.
* Stephanie McMahon sent a memo for announcers to never use the phrase "the referee didn’t see it" when a heel is doing something behind the referees back. She wrote that it makes it seem like the announcers are treating the fans like they are in grade school. Stephanie prefers "the referee’s vision was impaired" or "the referee’s vision was blocked." Also, never use the word "hatred" or "hate" when describing a feud and the announcers should never say a talent doesn't care about winning a match.
- Rey Mysterio appeared at last night's WWE live event in Queretaro. After World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio defeated Sin Cara, Rey ran down and saved Cara from a post-match beatdown.
- We noted before that Colt Cabana was headed for another WWE announcers tryout soon. Colt posted an update on his Twitter yesterday:
"No WWE for me. They've "courted me" for over a year about an announcing gig. I'm sure they will now detract it. I'm a PODCASTER!"
- Wade Barrett returned to action at last night's WWE live event in Queretaro, Mexico. He defeated Zack Ryder.
- There had been talk before about a Jim Ross WWE DVD but Ross noted on Twitter this week that it's highly unlikely that WWE does a DVD on him.
- We noted before that The Rock will begin filming San Andreas, an earthquake disaster movie, in early 2014. That movie actually begins filming in April 2014, which could impact Rock's availability for WrestleMania XXX.Comment
