Also, I see we are still underrating the charisma of both Orton and Bret Hart. Bret Hart was a great baby face in times when a baby face could get over. He was the ultimate hard worker and portrayed that in the ring and in his promos. Near the end of his WWE run, he was producing excellent mic work with HBK.

Orton can get a crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. It's his natural ability to play on a crowd's emotions, and do the little things to make people extremely happy/pissed about him. He's a little...stiff on the mic, although I attribute that to his boring "viper" gimmick.
Randy also has the ability to get the crowd chanting things like "randy savage" "Randy's boring" "JBL" "Michael Cole" and "Jerry Lawler" to name a few. Sheamus also has this skill. Orton is lame; but hes a surgeon in the ring though.

I dont mean to rag on Orton as I think he should be the focus of his storyline (which he is not), but I'm ready to call a spade a spade.

I think both of you guys are correct. Right now, Orton on the mic is below average to average. But like OSU (can you change your name or something) said, it's more to do with this damn Viper crap.

But, during his Evolution/Legend Killer days and when he started to really grow (feud with HHH) he oozed charisma. I was huge Orton fan before I stopped watching.

I feel like he has the potential, his gimmick just doesn't let him use it.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

I saw this posted in the comments over at Cageside Seats and it pissed me off a bit.

It's an interview with Michelle McCool, who is rumored to be returning.

Diva fans fondly remember the rivalry between McCool and Melina for the WWE Women’s Championship, and Michelle opened up about the time she worked with the A-lister.

Speaking on their infamous match at Night of Champions in 2009, McCool confirms they did get told off for being too aggressive.

The inaugural Divas Champion said: “It was that day [Night of Champions] I was like: ‘Could you not tell anybody, but do you think we could do a DDT on the barricade?’ And she was like: ‘Oh, yeah!’, not even thinking twice about it. We kind of hid it all day, even though we did ask our agent for approval, I think it was Fit — which is no secret that he was always fighting for the girls. We just made sure that we can stand up and get our balance, but we never actually did the bump. She was the one who was going to take the huge bump, and there was no doubt, no hesitation, that she would make it look ridiculous — and it did! [During the match] She finally takes the bump, it looks sick, pops off — up to that point, that was the best match I’ve ever had. We had the pay-per-view, we had time, I was really proud of that match.”

However following the excellent match, Michelle recalls how agents thought the match was ‘too good’ but little did she know, her and Melina would receive praise from a top WWE Superstar.

She said: “The next day, one of the agents came up to us and was like: ‘I can’t believe y’all did that! You have no idea! We were all backstage, scared to death!’ We were like: ‘What? We know how to safely bump. We wouldn’t do anything that would put either one of us at risk. We’re totally fine! If the men can do it, why can’t we do it?’ He said: ‘It looked too good! You can’t go out there throwing punches like that, or taking bumps like that — that looks better than some of the guys! You can’t do that!’ Finally, I remember Chris Jericho, who was by the ring, hears all of this going on. He said: ‘Look, if the guys can’t follow what the girls are doing, then the guys need to step it up! I thought it was awesome. They did great. And it’s not their problem that it looked that great!’ I was like, ‘Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you!’ Because out of respect, we can’t say anything, and here comes one of the boys — Jericho, of all people, sticking up for us!”
We've known the Diva division is largely **** outside of AJ, but it doesn't help if WWE is apparently reprimanding them when they're doing things that are too good. ****ing ridiculous. Jericho's completely right.

There are a lot of clueless people that wield way too much power in WWE. Jericho is 100% right.

Here's the video(6:10 for the DDT) (Hell even 7:00 is kinda awesome, a facebuster thing to the apron)

I'm not the biggest lover of women's wrestling, but seriously, screw off WWE if you think having the women wrestle a good match be a bad thing. I just don't understand why it's a bad thing for having good wrestling in all areas rather than the main event. It's ok to have good wrestlers throughout the roster, ugh. WWE really has no idea what they are doing anymore it seems.

I guess that explains why the diva division has been trash lately. Then there's a lot of talented women in NXT too

I remember watching that match live and enjoying but completely forgot just how aggressively they both worked it. You just don't see any of the current girls working with that kind of pace and ferocity. I don't give a flying **** about Divas segments anymore, but I actually used to look forward to every time Michelle McCool came on my screen. Nice to look at, great worker and could cut an awesome promo. She was the absolute total package when it came to women's wrestling.

I'm still convinced that Melina Perez is a dude though.

Plus, McCool is an FSU grad McCool vs. Lita or Stratus would've been some good matches.

Melina looked better when she managed MNM. I think she had some work done around 2008-09 that changed her look a bit.

The thing I remember most about Melina is "DAT ***."

Seriously though, when she was with MNM, she was screaming and dressed in the shortest of skirts and low cut tops, compared to her later tights. She wasn't bad, but she wasn't the greatest.

Reading things like that stuff about not wanting the divas to outperform the men really helps clarify why Paige isn't up on the main roster yet, but Eva Marie, JoJo, Cameron, and Summer Rae are.
