Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

WWE Divas Champion A.J. Lee collapsed during a live event match in London, England on Friday. Lee was working a match against Brie Bella when she collapsed and was helped backstage. The match was simply called off.
According to reports, it's from dehydration, but dang man, I really do hope she's ok. From a human being, being ok standpoint and being the only good diva on the roster, I hope it's just dehydration.

I've nearly passed out from dehydration and it's miserable before you take a break, especially doing a physical activity(pitching in practice in Little League at the time for me.)

She wrestled on Saturday so it did not look like it was serious. Hopefully it does not happen again.

          - Ring of Honor stars Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards reported today to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando for a week-long tryout. The week long tryout could be stage one of the duo receiving a short-term trial deal that would send them to WWE developmental for a few months.

          - Regarding Ryback being in the doghouse, word is that it's because he went out a week ago and did the spear and the jackhammer, Bill Goldberg moves, and didn't get permission from WWE management first.

          - Word from within WWE is that 2014 is going to be a very tag-team-heavy year.

So Ryback is allegedly catching heat backstage for doing Goldberg's signature moves recently. He did the jackhammer on Kofi Kingston and John Cena in the past couple weeks. He was randomly dumped off of Heymans team following that (Axel was dumped the following week maybe reactionary who knows).

Im thinking, who cares? Ryback is suppose to be bully and hes at the point where he doesnt care what others think. So why would that be an issue. Is it such a bad thing that he get old man Goldberg's feathers riled up? Maybe his ancient *** comes back and does something about it. Those two can have the stiff match of all stiff matches in the ring.

Ryback probably thinks he has nothing to lose at this point so hes just doing what he wants. Not like they ever showed much faith in him.

I didn't know Heyman dropped Axel, too.

Apparently, Ryback didn't ask permission before doing the moves. That's silly. Like you said, King, who cares? They have done nothing with Ryback aside from jobbing him out monthly on PPV for the last year.

He was starting to build momentum last year, then got thrust into the main event because Cena was hurt. Punk wasn't going to lose at that point because they were building towards his match with The Rock. So, he lost all those matches to Punk, lost to Henry at WrestleMania and has been on a downward projection since.

Usually it's common courtesy to ask a wrestler if it's ok to use his signature move (see Angle getting pissed at Orton for using the Angle Slam without him saying he could.)

If I'm Ryback, I'm almost to the point of do they even really care about me? He's gotten pushed to the moon (and was over), then got screwed over, then for it to happen again. It's been such a roller coaster, you wonder how he feels about it.

But we talking about Goldberg. A guy who has ****ted on WWE many times. Not sure why anyone in the company would be that upset about it. If Ryback started doing the Attitude Adjustment then Id get it. Btw it never really hit me how corny Cena's move was named until I typed it out. Sounds like the finisher of an upset 4th grade teacher!

I know, but Goldberg hasn't wrestled in WWE for a decade.

All true, but if the rumors of WWE negotiating with Goldberg for WM are true, then it makes sense why they wouldn't want their current poor man's version to go rogue if it is indeed a sticking point for Goldberg (and the "why should they care?" of that is simple: money).

Along the same lines, there is also the possibility that WWE is simply "leaking" this reasoning to try and throw people off of the whole "Ryback is doing Goldberg's moves, so Goldberg must be coming back" notion.

That's all assuming any of this is true though. I mean, isn't this the third version of why Ryback supposedly has heat on him backstage recently?

I've heard that match isn't happening because Goldberg refuses to lose it.

With the way Ryback has been treated, not sure if they'd want Ryback o win the match anyway! He may not want to lose the match but I probably put more on him wanting something like a Lesnar Rock 2 matches a year contract for 3 million. Goldberg values himself ridiculously high (in his interviews at least).

Old wrestlers coming back want those deals. Work little get paid like you're there carrying the brand every week. Even Punk admitted that that was something he'd want today in an interview.

Wrestling is gonna end up being seasonal.

I wouldn't mind it being seasonal(like a break from Wrestlemania to the enand of May) as it gives the wrestlers a bit of time to get healthy again for the big summer and what not. Summer really only has baseball and NASCAR on it's slate, so it's a big opportunity to have your top guys be all healthy for a big storyline to happen, to get viewers watching. It also lets what happened at Wrestlemania sit with people chomping at the bit to watch more, similar to how Breaking Bad/Walking Dead does/did.

That will never happen. You may see some more part-time wrestlers in the next 5-10 years (Cena, Punk, Bryan) but there will be WWE programming every week.
