Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread

Despite their advanced age I think I would be most excited to see Cena, Hogan v Piper, and another heel. I picture it working more like a divas match where 90% of the match is between Cena and the heel and Piper and Hogan hop in for mark out moments here and there. Love the nod to the original main event.

In an ideal world the other wrestler would be Punk. I know that's not gonna happen because they've got other plans for him but how great would it be to see Hogan and Hogan 2.0 vs Piper and Piper 2.0

Now I don't wanna see Hogan come back as a wrestler. I won't mind him as a guest manager or something like that. Just like I don't wanna see Flair next week but I guess I am going to have to deal with it. But like OS member Rocky said Hogan is a big part of WM. Just like Taker,Austin,Rock & HBK are.

One more thing about the killing WCW, almost everyone that matter in WCW were the ones who helped kill WCW.
Killing WCW was a team effort. Nash deserves a lot of the blame, but so does Hogan.

Nash wasn't the one invoking his creative control because he refused to do the job cleanly to Sting in the biggest main event in WCW history after over a year of build, resulting in one of the worst high profile matches in history.

I'm with yeah there! Though Nash was pushing for the non clean ending with Hogan. I mean of all people Nash got to beat Goldberg which I still find funny to this day. I like/liked Nash. The whole problem with WCW was there was no true authority figure to control the spending and booking.

WWE would be the same thing if not or Vince & Linda. Yeah when they were in trouble they took a risk by going with the attitude era and it panned out great. Now with 0 competition they go with the PG era which I can't blame them. I mean they have Cena wearin a different shirt each month and cash in. They do alot of PR work and cash in on that.

They got the perfect lap dog in Cole to talk about social media and their stupid app. Thats why fans who think we will have see the attitude era or something like that are crazy. The only way that will ever happen is if a Billionaire wrestling fan buys a few of the smaller promotions along with a few big steals of the WWE. Gets a network deal and goes all out.

I was always surprised that someone doesn't just recreate a version of ECW and get it on a network. I bet CW or Fox Sports would sign them.

Sorry for getting side tracked from my reply but I get on these little rants and I gotta get it out.

I'm still having a difficult time admitting that Wrestlemania is a "show" now. In my day, we'd drag Pete Rose out, get him tombstoned, and call it a day.

AJ Styles will not be signing with WWE, he inked a deal with ROH and will be on tonight broadcast! Man if ROH could get some backers and keep their own talent they could give the WWE a run for their money!

                  No, no they really couldn't.

How'd AJ work out for growing TNA and challenging WWE? How did having Punk, Joe, Dragon, Kings of Wrestling, Briscoes, et al. work out for RoH in the mid 2000s in terms of challenging WWE?

It's just not going to happen.

Um I think I said if they had the backers? If they had the backers then they would have the money to have kept their talent. You can't tell me that ROH is not better than TNA. I believe in the mid 2000's as ur pointing out was when it was created. U expect a company who was founded in 2002 to compete with the WWE and since it didn't that makes it that it could never compete *smh*

If ROH would have a Ted Turner type within 2 to 3 years they would compete with WWE. ROH just lacks exposure which its starting to get as it signs local deals. Like just recently, I no longer have to watch ROH online I can see its Sunday broadcast!

ROH has great talent and continues to develop great talent. For a company that is only going to be 12 years old I think they are on the right track. TNA had a chance at one time till they got rid of 6 sides and quit pushing their young talent. How can Samoa Joe not be a main eventer?

Anyways ROH will probably not be able to compete with the WWE because theres not alot of Billionaire wrestling fans. I wish they would though cause it would cause WWE to raise its game!

Even if they had the backers, in the shape ROH is in today it wouldn't ever happen.

Their best years are behind them for now. Today's ROH can't hold a candle to the 2002-2009(ish) era of ROH.

2002-2009 crop: CM Punk, Abyss, AJ Styles, Alex Shelley, Austin Aries, Brodie Lee, Bryan Danielson, Chris Hero, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Claudio Castagnoli, Colt Cabana, Jerry Lynn, Low Ki, Kevin Steen, London & Spanky, Samoa Joe, Tyler Black, Nigel McGuiness.

Today's Roster: Chris Hero, Homicide (who really fell off, he was better pre-TNA), Briscoes, Jay Lethal, Kevin Steen, Paul London.

Don't get me wrong. I loved ROH. I used to go to all the shows in Chicago when I was in High School (would have been the 2003-2006 years) quite often when they were there. They just don't have the talent there that they used to.

What I actually wish is that there was some station willing to put some Japanese promotions on TV, New Japan in particular.

They aren't. TNA is on a bigger network and more publicized. I love ROH, have for a long time, but they could never come close to WWE, I don't care how much money they have, not possible. And if they ever truly became a threat, Vince would buy them out. Just how the business is these days. I love Chris Hero, but there's a reason he's back working for ROH and not on Raw or Smackdown.

Guess we have to agree to disagree. Most of those guys from the 2002-2009 era nobody knew who they were including WWE. ROH developed them and WWE bought them because why? Because they had the money. WCW didn't compete until they started spendin the money. Which is my whole point

LOL Just because ur on a bigger network doesn't make you better. That be like sayin Wrestling Society X is better than ROH because it was on MTV. The company is not even around now. As for TNA its in trouble and thats the reason it can't afford to pay its wrestlers. Some of the wrestlers have been not getting paid on time.

Thats why when their contracts are up Samoa Joe,Kaz,Christopher Daniels, and Rhoode will be gone. Sting will probably retire and Kurt if he can will continue wrestling.

As for TNA's actually product it is awful. Most of their stories are just rehashed WWE stories from a year or so ago. They have ruined the X division! Their tag team division consists of two teams 3 if you wanna count the nerd jobber dudes. And their TV champion is on tv as a whole different character.

Now do I like what TNA could be sure, Do I think they have talent? sure of course they do. Is it being used even close to right? NO NO NO! lol.

Oh and to ur Chris Hero comment, you do know he asked to leave right?

How is ROH even remotely close to WWE? If you want to talk TNA there is a TNA forum for that too.

As for Chris Hero, it depends who you ask. He walked in one day and was handed his papers, he's just looking at it positively and handling it nicely. He didn't ask for his release, watch his shoot.
