I really never understood why Fox Sports, or ESPN (to a lesser extent) never got in on trying to get Raw on their network, obviously not on the premier channel, but a secondary channel, and get a bunch of ratings. It really is the hottest property on cable.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
It's a tricky thing. WWE is athletic, obviously, but I don't think you can really call it a sport, as the outcomes are obviously predetermined. It's kinda risky for ESPN as a sports "news" channel to air something that is fictional. Plus, RAW would obviously have to move off Mondays

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
That show didn't blur the lines like WWE does. It was a traditional, scripted drama. WWE presents itself as being a true sport. It's in more of a gray area.
That's not even mentioning that ESPN ran that show for all of 11 episodes in 2003, and never had anything like it before or since.

While that's true, that's not how ESPN presents itself these days at all.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
I can remember back in the late 80s/early 90s when there was no ESPN 2 or ESPN classic, ESPN used to air reruns of WCCW, I remember some AWA being mixed in too around the time of Superclash III, and then they started airing some new promotion called the GWFComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
That show was awesome. I have it on DVD. The thing that sucks the most is that it ended on a cliffhanger and had so many unfinished storylines heading into a potential Season 2. I can't believe they cancelled it, can't handle the "truth" about the dark side of pro football coming out? Yikes.KB's All-CAW Universe

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Yeah NBC/WWE relationship has worked well for both. I imagine it's carried USA over the years and in terms of a brand of a network it probably doesn't get much better for the WWE.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment
