Or how about "The Icon Sting" or "Stinger". Stupid that they need to trademark it.

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
This whole convo is flying right over my head. What exactly is the reason they can't call him Sting? Is his name owned by TNA? Im confused.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
My guess is that Steve has rights to the name, and he wouldn't want to sign off on them. Which if that were the case, why not do a Punk style deal, where they have rights as long as he's employed.St. Louis Cardinals | Milwaukee Bucks | Los Angeles Rams

They are trying to reinvent Sting without renaming him so they can profit.Last edited by almostbobsaget; 01-23-2014, 10:03 PM.Comment

Closing the book on the Beadle/AJ/Punk threeasco™
"A bunch of horse****. I don't know what a lie was. I thought me and Beadle were pals. She had this group of women and they walked past me and she said some disrespectful **** and I was just like 'whoa'. My girlfriend pulled her aside in front of this same group of people and was like, and she introduced herself, and she was like 'Don't be disrespectful to my boyfriend' and Beadle just went 'okay', and walked away and that was it. ... She walked by and said 'what's up ****-face' and high-fived one of the girls."Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
The New York Post reports that NBC Universal will be launching a physical WWE Hall of Fame attraction at Universal Studios Orlando theme park, which is part of NBC's pitch for a new deal that would keep WWE programming on their networks. NBC has until February 1 before their exclusive negotiating window ends. NBC still has the right to match any outside offer the WWE gets once they start taking bids outside of NBC.
WWE, for the first time ever, set all of their TV rights to end at the same time, allowing the company to negotiate all of their shows at once like a sports league would. This is different from the past in which they had to negotiate new deals for RAW, SmackDown and other shows as older deals expired.
Universal Orlando has been rumored for the WWE Hall of Fame. It will be either within the park or on their Citiwalk property, which would bring in lots of people for a potential Hall or anything else that would be included for the facility like a restaurant or store.
WWE said in a statement: "WWE is the hottest property on cable and a proven ratings juggernaut. However, we are in an exclusive negotiating window until the end of next week."That's not an insult, THAT is just a fact of life.Comment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Pulling in decent (but obviously not compared to what they used to be) ratings on cable every single week of the year is no easy task.
I always wondered if Fox Sports would try to get in on the action. They have JR writing WWE-based articles for their website now it's not a stretch of the imagination to think they could want something like that for their channel.badComment

Re: The OS WWE 'Dirt' Thread
Exactly. Raw routinely outperforms everything on Monday cable except Monday Night Football. Smackdown does the same on Fridays. And that's 5 hours of programming a week that is virtually guaranteed to do at least okay. You can just plug it into your channel, and that's a massive block of programming you don't have to worry about anymore.
