COULD IT BE TRUE STING IS GOING TO BE AT WM30? The following is provided by cagesideseats.com
Rumors for the Day:
Expect to see more of Ric Flair on WWE programming along the road to WrestleMania XXX. After causing a scene at the WWE 2K14 press conference last summer, WWE threatened Flair that they would no longer use him unless he got his personal demons under control. According to backstage sources, Flair has done just that. His appearance on Old School Raw a few weeks back was said to be a trial run and he was on his best behavior that night. With former Evolution-mates Batista, Randy Orton, and Triple H all expected to play huge roles leading up to WrestleMania XXX, there are a number of ways to potentially work Flair into a storyline.
The long-awaited deal to bring Sting to WWE is getting closer to happening. Recent rumors state that WWE officials are already talking about it as a done-deal backstage, and plans for using Sting are being developed. It is currently unknown if the long-rumored Sting vs. Undertaker "streak" match is still a possibility, or if they've moved onto other ideas. Regardless, expect to see Sting involved in the run-up to WrestleMania XXX in some capacity.
The rumors that CM Punk could choose to retire after his current WWE contract runs out this July continue to swirl. Another interesting twist has now been added with the news that this June's WWE pay per view, Payback, will take place in Punk's home city of Chicago, IL for the second year in a row. Depending on the exact date Punk's contract runs out and the exact date of July's Money in the Bank PPV, Payback in his hometown may be Punk's final WWE PPV. While recent rumors have suggested that the backstage feeling is that Punk still has a few years left in him, this summer should be an interesting time as we wait to see what will happen.
We've mentioned before that Alexander Rusev is on the short list of NXT talent to be called up to the main roster soon. According to the most recent rumors, Rusev will be joined by his current NXT mouthpiece/manager/valet Lana when he gets the call up. Lana will continue to serve in that capacity when the two are on the main roster.
Rusev had spent the last several weekends working with the main roster house show tour, typically a prelude for a developmental star who will be called up soon. Another NXTer who has been traveling with the main roster is Tyler Breeze, who worked matches against Justin Gabriel this past weekend. Obviously, this isn't an indication that Breeze will be called up any time soon, but it is a good sign if WWE officials are already giving him opportunities to work against main roster talent.
Another NXT talent whose main roster call-up is said to be coming soon is Women's Champion Paige. She returned to work on Monday after sitting out since November. There are conflicting reports on whether it was due to an injury or if she was being given time off for "personal reasons."
