    Erm... why wouldn't they?

It's a sporting event, JR now works for the website and it pulls ratings just as good (or better) than anything else they have - and it's year round.

NASCAR was on FS1 before the the last fight night, and that averaged around 3.5 million viewers.

That's around RAW numbers. RAW is a guaranteed ratings generator, you have at least a solid baseline to work off of and know what you're expecting.

I'd just be interested to know which channel Fox would shuttle SmackDown! to if they wanted to split them up for business purposes.

Think we would ever see Smackdown come back to lets say basic cable tv such as FOX local channels?

I'm not sure how attached with a fake sport you want your legitimate sporting network to be.

I know ESPN used to show wrestling, but there's a good reason that if Disney bought the WWE rights it would never sniff being on ESPN.

People know what wrestling is nowadays.

And Raw is a big ratings getter. Why wouldn't you want them on your sports net?

In launching its new network, the WWE has told the cable companies carrying its pay per views that their services are not needed anymore. Some of them are not taking it lying down.

I think, as a business society, we're past the point of wrestling being "fake." It's a legitimate athletic event.

It's proved over the past few decades that it's more than a legitimate sporting business, in terms of the business numbers they do.

If ABC bought the WWE, they would put it on a channel that needs it. ESPN already pulls ratings - they don't need RAW to do that for them. How many businesses have ESPN on their TVs in their establishments? How many of those businesses have Fox Sports on?

Foxsports.com ran an article on the Royal Rumble before it aired. The UFC helped launch their foray into semi-mainstream with TUF 1 piggybacking off WWE's ratings in 2005 when they were both on Spike.

At this point, we go back to the silly phrase that gets uttered too much. "Best for business."

I don't know, they already have UFC and I wonder if that will strain that relationship. Though that would be pretty awesome.

I'm assuming they will either stay with NBC/Universal or go back to Viacom.

Dana talks a lot of **** about everything, but I guarantee that if they air something after WWE and it sees higher ratings (like the original TUF did on Viacom) he won't give two ****s.

He might not openly say/support it, but he knows the business.

If not going back to NBC, Fox is the only spot I can see welcoming them and giving Vince and the company the treatment he thinks they deserve (rightfully so.)

Fox would be awesome with the depth they have as far as channel lineups.

I'm gonna guess they will come to a new deal with NBC at some point.

I think that Dana is a closet wrestling fan. He hangs out and talks with all the wrestlers at UFC shows.

He's a business man like Vince. If he knew that having WWE on the same channel would help his ratings, he would be fine with it.

I've been waiting for some kind of cross promotion between the two for years. I believe eventually it'll happen. It would only make them both more money.

I have no desire to see a cross promotion. Keep them separate.

I am guessing we will be seeing Raw on FX. And a live Smackdown on Fox Sports 2 or something.

Which I hope is the case. I work for Fox Sports.
