I did at least an 8 year sim.
If you don't watch the AI match or play the match yourself, here are the negatives I've observed:
    - I didn't see any injuries happen
    - I didn't see a single face/heel turn
    - I didn't see any ally/rival settings change. After 8 years, John Cena was still ADR's most hated rival even though they haven't faced each other in a long time.

Thus if you skip the match, you risk missing out on a potential injury, turn or rivalry development.
For the matches you care about, I suggest you either play or watch the match.
Perhaps you all already knew this but it was news to me that cutscenes weren't being run under the hood during simulation.

Edit: Forgot to mention that if you sim you will also eventually not see Remarkable Matches. Makes sense since simming seems to nullify story development.

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

So I decided to do my own Universe while I wait to get back to my main one with my brother-in-law in Michigan.

I created a rookie heel (Adam Streets... Combination of my real name and OS name). He has branded himself "The Future".

I'm an 80 overall with three abilities (resiliency, ring escape, leverage pin), playing default Legend difficulty.

I'm a light heavyweight with an all-around style similar to Jericho or HBK.

Signatures are Super Kick and Shining Wizard.

Finishers are Single Knee Facebuster and Crossface.

My first match on Superstars I injure Alex Riley!! He kicked out of the facebuster but tapped to the Crossface. After sending a message, I'm immediately booked on Raw against JoMo with Miz in my corner. I win via Facebuster, and Miz turns on me and beats me down.

On Superstars I lose my 1st match when Swagger beats down Kofi before the match. I dominate, but Swagger reinterferes and this time beats me down bad and I lose to a leverage pin. On Raw I beat JoMo via submission in a triple threat with Miz where afterwards Morrison and I shook hands. I'm still heel, but Morrison and I are friends while me, Swagger and Miz are enemies.

I'm now at the Rumble and unfortunately drew #5!

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

John Cena has been feuding with Awesome Truth. Initially the matches were with R-Truth. After dispatching R-Truth after a couple matches, John Cena gets a match with The Miz. As The Miz is coming out to the ring, slapping fan's hands as a heel , he notices someone in the crowd. It's R-Truth who promptly attacks The Miz. Cool. New cutscene for me.

Face turn! John Cena easily takes the victory over a hurt Miz. R-Truth cements his face turn and starts his alliance with Cena by coming to John Cena's rescue when The Miz tries to break Cena's leg. At the PPV, John Cena finally get his revenge by defeating the Miz in a submissions match.

But that is not enough for The Miz. The following night he challenges Cena again. However this time, it is a trick. He brings out Zack Ryder (who recently turned heel) to face John Cena. Easy victory for Cena but post-match, John's top rival, Mark Henry w/ Heath Slater, finally shows his face and destroys John Cena.

Excited to see how this feud turns out and whether The Miz will still stick his nose in Cena's business. He's still the #2 rival.

My universe continues to try and turn my top heels into faces and its pissing me off. We need more control over this type of thing next year. Just now on smackdown I had undertaker join forces with rko and lesnar, who arnt even a stable. Omg is this junk just random? Makes no sense.

Ric Flair and Bam Bam Bigelow are still feuding. Their last match (CPU vs CPU) was great. Bigelow dominated early. Flair took over and hurt Bam Bam before Bigelow used some big power moves to take over again. I thought for sure Bam Bam was going to win but Flair reversed him into a small package to steal the win.

By the way, Bigelow is my current Cruiserweight champ. You read that correctly. And none of the top contenders for the belt are close to being Cruiserweights either. I guess I will have to swap out that belt for one that will actually make sense if Universe isn't going to honor the belt rules.

Just had my Royal Rumble PPV
All matches were CPU vs CPU

                Intercontinental Championship:
Wade Barrett w/ Regal vs Cody Rhodes(c)
Regal was a problem the whole match distracting the ref on several pin attempts but was eventually thrown out after attacking Rhodes on the outside. Vicious match that saw Barrett get busted open. Cody eventually got the win after a slingshot dropkick set up the Cross Rhodes.

                Feud Match Extreme Rules
                Christian vs Booker T
I edited this one in to have a culminating match to the **** feud Christian and Booker had been having. No feuds for the US title going so I replaced it with this. You could really feel the hatred in this match as they used everything on each other; mops, soda, crutches and tables were all in the ring. Both participants were bloodied but Christian was able to steal a win after countering a move into a roll up. This victory also puts Christian near the top of the condensers list for the Heavyweight Championship.

                Title vs Title
                Women's Title vs Diva Title
                Layla vs Kelly Kelly
Why not haha. Layla wins, who cares, next match.

                WWE Championship
HHH w/ Marsye vs Alberto Del Rio(c)
HHH and Marsye have formed an alliance after she sat at ringside and celebrated with him on several occasions. HHH decided to bring her out to try and neutralize Ricardo. Things that are dumb. Del Rio getting DQ'd for attacking a manager. That makes zero sense. Del Rio retains due to the DQ rule.

                World Heavyweight Championship
                Mark Henry vs Randy Orton(c)
Henry got into this match after beating the Undertaker on Smackdown. Great match that saw a lot of near falls and big moves. Orton retains after needing a couple RKO's and a backdrop slam to keep Henry down. After the match Eve and Kelly Kelly came out to celebrate with Orton. What a pimp

                Royal Rumble
Lesnar wins as the surprise #30 entrant.

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

                  Over the Limit Results

Match 1: Jack Swagger (c) vs. Mason Ryan for the U.S. Title.

A back and forth match between the two. Swagger countered Ryan's finisher and would hit the Gut-Wrench Powerbomb, but could not keep Ryan down. Mason Ryan hit his signature move (can't remember what it was called) and The House of Pain to capture the U.S. Title.

                  Winner: Mason Ryan

Match 2: Sheamus vs. The Miz

Miz made his return from injury on the previous SmackDown by attacking Sheamus. Miz and Sheamus were battling it out when Wade Barrett came out. Sheamus would force Miz to submit to the Texas Cloverleaf, but the ref was distracted by Barrett. Sheamus would then hit the Brogue Kick, but again the ref was distracted by Barrett. Sheamus hit a second Brogue Kick, but for some reason Miz got up to his feet but groggy. Miz countered an attempted move by Sheamus to hit Skull Crushing Finale for the win.

                  Winner: The Miz

Match 3: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kane for the Intercontinental Title.

Not really have anything on this match, but Kane countered the Cross Rhodes and hit the Chokeslam to capture the IC Title.

                  Winner: Kane

Match 4: Triple H vs. John Cena

With Cena forming a new version of the nWo with Nash, Swagger and Ziggler, there wasn't many guys on the Raw roster fight back against them. Triple H though was one of them. But unfortunately Triple H on this night couldn't combat Cena. Cena won with an AA and the STF.

                  Winner: John Cena

Match 5: Wade Barrett (c) vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title.

Barrett injured Orton leading up to WrestleMania forcing Orton out of the WH Title Match. Orton returned seeking retribution. Orton nearly succeeded in it after hitting an RKO on Barrett, but Barrett kicked out. Barrett would then do what any smart champion on the verge of losing the title would do. Barrett cracked Orton in the head with a chair in front of the ref for the DQ.

                  Winner: Randy Orton by DQ

Match 6: Kevin Nash (c) vs. CM Punk for the WWE Title.

Nash as the leader of the nWo got rid of the Spinner Belt and brought back the Undisputed WWE Title. During the course of the match Nash went for the Jackknife Powerbomb, but Punk countered it and went for the GTS, but that was countered into the Jackknife Powerbomb, but only for 2. Punk would kick out of another Jackknife. Punk hit the GTS, but Nash was too close to the ropes and slid out the ring. Punk missed a moonsault just like Extreme Rules and was victimized with a 3rd Jackknife.

                  Winner: Kevin Nash

Re: Official: How's your WWE 12 Universe going?

Guys, how do I get rid of belts and add in different ones? I want to take the Spinner off of Punk and replace it with the Undisputed, Cody Rhodes the Classic and I want to get rid of the Tag Team (new ones) straps.

I know you can vacate those belts outside of Universe Mode, but once in UM, how do I do the belt changes?

My first week of Universe was awesome!

I've got RAW and WCW Nitro as my 2 main shows. WCW is mostly SD guys with a lot of WCW created wrestlers. I also moved Triple H and HBK to that show.

Brock, Stone Cold and Rock are on RAW.

Brock vs. Rock was the main event for RAW and Rock won after a long match. Afterwards, the two shook hands, turning Lesnar face (I made him a heel).

On Smackdown, Triple H beat Christian in a match but was beatdown by Nash (who's in the nWo with Hall, Hogan, Waltman and Steiner) with a LEAD PIPE! Pretty cool stuff. Orton was also involved in this match, as he jumped Christian prior to him getting to the ring.

Go the schedule, hit Square/X on the show you want to edit, edit belts accordingly.

And stick all the belts you don't want appearing in your Universe on someone crappy, then stick crappy guy on a brand you don't use. I'd recommend WCW.
