I like the current woman for most people. Doing accents for each Imperium guy is a nice touch and I think she puts enough into the undercard people to make them sound important. She adds some life to it.

She goes a little over the top for me in main events (especially announcing Reigns) but overall I like her.

I’m ready to call it. The woman who does the ring announcing on Smackdown is the 1b to Finks 1a. She’s that damn good, I hope they don’t mess that up and she’s around a long time.

This is such a weird take. Prime King was by no means god awful. Now when they turned him full on into old pervy Uncle Jerry and ALL he did was obsess about the women and "puppies" it was bad but before the puppies overkill, Jerry was absolute gold as the heel commentator.

Dad jokes is absolute gold? To each their own. The announcer debate will always go around in circles. It always just boils down to who was around when we were kids/first getting into wrestling. Nostalgia is undefeated in wrestling.

And yes, I think the Smackdown ring announcer is fantastic. I think she does the best job since Fink of conveying importance to her calls when she needs to. I love the way she uses different accents for Imperium. And to me her calls just sound like someone with a powerful voice using it in that way. Unlike Justin Roberts who is just cartoony at this point.

Going through the wrestling YouTube, it's amazing what you will find. They do have the song "Wrestlemania", but also "Summerslam Jam" from 1993. 1993 was the last Summerslam in Detroit, 2023 Summerslam is in Detroit. Remake this with current stars. Rollins could easily do the intro part like Savage did, Cody can be Bret and you fill in others here and there lol.

See, this is the kind of stuff they should be doing. Not that this video specifically is all that great but it's a throwback idea and those go over well now, it'd let wrestlers show their character, and it's easy to share online.

WWE used to be a little more in on the joke, winking at the camera, leaning in to the campiness, etc back in the day. They really carved their own specific place in entertainment. And you ended up with memorable stuff like that lol. Not really the case anymore, sadly.

I think it was in 1997 (apparently she came to some WCW shows), which I believe was around the time of Arquette/Cox dating, so it would make sense since he was a WCW fan back then before he was brought in as an actual talent, so perhaps she went with them to a show, they went backstage and she met Rey?
