    Re: WWE Off-Topic

I know he's doing partially in character, but Gunther coming in and ripping the LFG cast is funny.

Gunther: I know why you're all here, because you have an athletic background and whatever you were doing didn't work out so you thought you'd give pro wrestling a shot. It's pretend so it must be easy, right?

    *Walks up to Tyra*

    Gunther: What's your background?

    Tyra: Olympic gold medalist.

    Gunther: In what?

    Tyra: Wrestling.

Gunther: But it didn't pay the bills did it?

Gunther is hilarious. If that guy had an in-character show or podcast or something where he just clowns on people it'd be the first one I listened to. Though I disagree that every character needs grit, stoic, etc.

Mickie James' commentary to Xena regarding her outfit and all that garbage about "what we fought for" was completely vapid and illogical. Really pissed me off. Made me lose a ton respect for her. Yikes.

I also don't get what Jasper or whatever his name is was doing and "being emotional." Also isn't showing emotion something they hammer all the time? They also criticized the other chick for being too protective but #1 job is to protect your opponent and we've heard that for decades, so that doesn't jive either.

She's taking heat for it online.

People definitely only responding to the quote, not realizing she also followed it up with "I should know, I had to do it (wear revealing outfits and do 14+ rated things) a lot".

The comment was out of nowhere though. I can get singling her out if she wore something really horrible/overly revealing, but what she had wasn't even so bad.

Current women in WWE wear things way more revealing than that, including Alexa Bliss who Mickie literally worked with in her last run.

There's nothing wrong with wearing tight/revealing outfits once that's not their entire gimmick. Maybe that was the point she was trying to make/failed at saying. If your entire thing is just "look at me, I can shake and show off my assets and that's all I'm here for." which was 80% of women in WWE prior to 2008, then that shouldn't exist, but there's not many women I can think of who are like that.

Even in AEW, someone like Mariah May obviously uses her looks and some stuff she does to her advantage, but that's part of the gimmick too where she hooks you in and then literally stabs you after.

Sex sells. If you can wrestle and look good there's no problem with it.

The chicks that wrestle now are great in the ring and many look good. There's nothing wrong with it.

And yes, many wear *way* more revealing stuff.

And let's not forget all the **** Mickie did, has nudes and stuff etc. And again, guess what, there's nothing wrong with that. She was great in the ring and was/is hot. So what?

Her comment was asinine and unnecessary.

            Re: WWE Off-Topic

Just saw the HBK/Razor episode of WWE Rivals.

One bit of news I never knew before was that the WM10 ladder match for both titles was "legit". As in, there really were two titles because Shawn refused to ship back the original title (which he had at the time as the champ, but failed a drug test so they suspended him/stripped him of the title) so they actually had to make a new title.

I'm sure the Madusa moment was more to blame than anything, but now it has me thinking this moment could've also contributed to the screw job?

A big name like Shawn Michaels refused to give back the title that was in his possession. Wouldn't be surprised if Bret had some comments backstage or directly to Vince at the time too regarding that, so when the roles were reversed under different circumstances where Bret was the one expected to give the title back, maybe Shawn remembered/heard about the reception to him keeping the actual title and didn't agree with any scenario where Bret "gets away" with keeping the belt and then returning it in proper fashion the next night.

Speaking of which, HBK vs Razor at WM10 wasnt even those two first ever ladder match (they did it at house shows). But also, Bret vs Shawn was actually the first ladder match in WWF.

Anybody watch that Stephanie's Places show?

I only have the basic ad-supported package of Disney and Hulu so it's not available to me. I'm sure it's up on the usual sites where we can watch wrestling, but didn't know if it was worth checking out.

Just feels like some extended YouTube behind the scenes thing.

Rusev has re-signed with the WWE as he was apparently at WWE Headquarters finalizing everything for his return. No word if Lana is coming back as they apparently got re-married but have to think we'll see the pairing of Rusev & Lana back after Mania at some point.

I kind of think he may have been better off in TNA, less bloated and more opportunities versus WWE's bloated roster. Anyhow... Happy Rusev Day!

He'll get the typical return pop/hype but I could see it fading quickly.

When he left I think you could pretty clearly make the case that he should've been higher up than he was, but I'm not sure where he really fits in the current roster.

Kevin Owens did an interview where he explained when the neck injury happened. He says it was a match in January when something went wrong and he had been dealing with this for FOUR MONTHS. Damn.... the fact he was dealing with this before the Rumble match with Cody and still took that insane bump through the Ladder is crazy.

                            Rumors about the Summer PLEs...

                            - The next Saudi show is eexpected to take place Saturday June 28th, but it's not King & Queen of The Ring. Night of Champions is expected to return this year.

                            - WWE is bringing back the all Women's PLE Evolution on Saturday July 5th.

That's three straight Saturday shows ending with SNME on Saturday July 12th. That sucks King & Queen of The Ring won't come back, but could see them hosting the finals of those tournaments at Night of Champions(Men's KOTR Finals) and Evolution(Queen of The Ring Finals).

I'm confused with the Evolution show. NOC means all titles are defended......or do they just mean all men's titles? Because if the women's ones are defended too, then what's the point of Evolution?

That would make most sense though with the women's titles on Evolution since you have both world titles, ic and us title, tag title, and if needed you could do the NXT women's and NA titles too.

But does that also mean SNME will just be a show filled with non title feuds? Maybe throw in a Summerslam contract signing if they're going with the whole "King and Queen of the ring faces world champ at SS" stipulation again.

I can't imagine it being all that good. No one's going to say anything interesting or real in an interview with Stephanie.
