Some crazy news.
Wrestlemania 42 WON'T be taking place in New Orleans anymore.
Looks like someone came in last minute and outbid New Orleans for it.
But WWE said NO will get a future WM AND MITB 2026 in exchange for pushing WM back.
Being outbid in such a weird way AFTER the event was announced...this has a SA Wrestlemania written all over it doesn't it? Not sure the tourism aspect of WM will really be good for this one...Last edited by Majingir; 05-22-2025, 01:13 PM.Comment

Thank goodness I hadn't booked my flight and hotel for New Orleans. Feel bad for those who already did, especially if they were coming from different countries.
No Way WWE would change the location of Mania in one U.S. City just to move it t another U.S. City right? Like they could have gave that city 2027 or 2028 if it was staying in the U.S. It has to be London... Wembley Stadium. Only way it make sense, but again they could have gave Mania to London in 2027 too. This is bizarre.
Speaking of it already being announced.... everything with that segment on Smackdown that caused last second booking changes, to Rock announcing New Orleans as the host city for Mania to Rock wanting Cody's soul segment is now entirely.... POINTLESS.Comment

Give them their own pointless PPV if you must. That should be it. The hallmark of your entire ****ing business should not be there. Especially of late where other companies participate during Wrestlemania week. They don't have the desire or budget to go to ****ing Saudi Arabia or London even. According to an article on nola.com, they're doing Vegas again.
After the success of this year's event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year's event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn't authorized to be quoted by name.Comment

Vegas again seems excessive, but no doubt they would've been paid a lot to do this.
Vegas more than almost any other city would have a real high tourism level for a WM, so that had to play a big role in it too.Comment

I guess it doesn't matter now since people seem to be getting into her with the Becky Lynch feud, but maybe they should've done some vignettes about this for the main roster like they did for her in NXT UK and NXT. Not to go full bird gimmick or anything, but just do a little more than Michael Cole trying to explain it on commentary in the middle of everything else.
