    Re: WWE Off-Topic

Given what happened with Iran and stuff, what are the chances WWE moves Smackdown/Night of Champions out of Saudi for safety concerns?

I wouldn't be surprised if they just ignored it.

Unless they're advised by SA to not go, they probably will go anyways.

But I could see some talent more hesitant to go.

A long flight out of the US over there, you better be on high alert.

Yeah it's going to be tough to find a venue that can suddenly hold 2 events over two days last second. Guess they can just move it Orlando or somewhere in Florida to make it easy on the talent.

I don't think that'll be the issue. Especially in June where there's no games in any venue, you could easily go anywhere, it's just a matter of their ticketing department using whatever stats they have in knowing which venues sell tickets the fastest and go there.

The decision probably needs to be made by tomorrow though so they could announce it on Raw that the venue changed and then people in that city just buy tickets for Friday/Saturday.

The UK government has put out an advisory to not go to SA (don't know if it's a recent one or its been around a while). Not that I think it's a high tourist area, but if other places are advising against travel in a certain area, maybe you shouldn't be sending a private plane filled with celebrities to a place that might not be safe, especially right now

Maybe they should reconsider doing several events a year in/near places that have this type of bull**** possible.

SA closes their airspace for the time being.

So that could fall under the "WWE will go there unless they're told not to come".

If planes can't go in and out, they can't even get there, especially since I imagine their production crew is going there Thursday to set up for Smackdown on Friday.

Wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement by Raw tonight.

Thursday? I'm sure there are some of the crew that were either en route or there now. They get to these international shows days in advance.

                        Pleaaaaase.

Even though the Night of Champions theme they're using is "a banger.".

According to Alverez, WWE already sent their setup crew over there. Unfortunately, they are now stuck at an airport in Qatar with no word on how long they will be there. So yeah... this is already a bad sign if the crew sent over to get things set up can't leave a airport.

It's like they always say "the show must go on".

I know WWE likes to act like they're doing the fans a favour by being able to entertain people and distract them from real issues, but at some point you have to realize safety > money.

It's just not worth the problems. This isnt the first time they've had issues if my memory doesn't fail me.

It ain't worth it. In any way.

Selfishly, I want to watch the shows on Friday and Saturday. So I hope it's cancelled.

I like having an early SD and PLE (1pm ET i believe both start at), but I still wouldn't mind it happening elsewhere.

And if they didn't relocate the shows during the early days when there were lots more news stories about controversy happening, they never will unless they're told to not come.
