It's a shame that happened, but at the same time would the business actually be worse off if a union was formed then?

WCWs big appeal was paying older guys more guaranteed money.

If WWF had a union by the 90s, would guys have been as likely to jump ship? Would Bret have even been allowed to leave for WCW/would Vince be allowed to not pay Bret his full deal (and tell him to go to the competition for the money)?

I don't think we'll ever see a union in wrestling at this point. You NEED top guys to all be on board and nobody is going to do that. If Hogan got on board in the 80s it for sure would've happened.

Imagine if Hogan and others refused to compete at Wrestlemania (similar to how NBA players refused to compete in the 1964 ASG).

It's 2024 and they still don't have a union. I don't think Hogan telling Vince anything about Jesse had any effect on anything. It was never going to happen, especially when the money started getting good for everyone.

Orton announces he signed a 5 year deal.

That takes him until he's 49 or 50, maybe retires at 50 (WM would be the weekend before or after he turns 50).

I'm sure he'll be part time before he's done, but if he's competing for 5 more years, no way he doesn't get at least 16 world titles. I could see him getting that 17th.

WWE has announced that Bad Blood will have a new start time of 6PM. Due to UFC 307 airing at 10PM that same night, Bad Blood was moved up in order to avoid the shows overlapping. I'm still hoping to get tickets last second for this and make a flight to Atlanta for this show, would be nice getting back to the hotel at a reasonable time if I go.

I guess a Nostalgia contract is the new term for Legends Contract? Another former WWE Women's Champion back in the mix as Victoria has announced she has a new deal with WWE.

              Nice to see her back.

Of all the women during the RA era, she was one of them who never "got her flowers" from WWE, though Trish and Lita always mention her. I could see her in the HOF too.

Funny tie in. Everyone's comparing the Dom/Rhea stuff to Eddie/Chyna, the "unknown woman" that Eddie cheated on Chyna with was Victoria before she was Victoria.

Victoria was amazing and heavily underrated. And, like Mickie James and Beth Phoenix, they did her no favors with how they booked her for the last year or so of her time there. The Bella Twins and the Kelly Kelly's of the world had to be pushed lol.

No surprise, Laurinaitis took over JRs job in talent relations around the time the Ruthless Aggression women's time was slowly nearing the end and the eventual divas era really took off.

That's what made the whole thing weird. The RA women could wrestle, but were held down by producers and certain others wanting them to do bra and panties and gravy bowl matches. They succeeded despite that (it's frustrating to look at the first half of the 2010s and realize how many talented women they did have and refused to do anything with. AJ Lee almost didn't get a shot because Laurinaitis didn't find her attractive, even Becky later on felt similar backlash from Dunn, and the great Sasha/Bayley Takeover match almost didn't happen the way it did because they hid certain spots from producers so nobody could veto stuff).

The era that followed couldn't wrestle and were soon not able to do those bra and panties matches so they started serving very little purpose except 2 minute matches and PG costume contests and dance offs.

Dakota Kai in the later part of her NXT career was starting to channel the crazy gimmick that did remind me a bit of Victoria's psycho gimmick with Stevie Richards.

Since I'll need a Netflix account to watch the Ravens play the Texans then RAW next year, I need some advice. What plan does everyone have, is the premium plan at $22.99 worth it? I'm assuming the premium plan will be the only way go watch NFL games and RAW.

I'm just taking a guess, but unless not having 4K is a dealbreaker for you I'd think the $6.99 plan with ads would be fine. I don't see any benefit to paying for no ads if you're only using it for live events like Raw and the NFL

Unless they don't actually cut to commercial/break on the premium feed, which would be nice. But I think Netflix's idea going forward is pushing as many people as possible to the ad supported tier.

To some extent they were just listening to the audience too. We definitely weren't expecting great (or even good) women's wrestling at that time. Sucks for the women who put the effort in and could wrestle if given the chance, but that's how it was.

Hopefully it's a storyline thing but I imagine this is Woods' reaction to it....
