Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?

    Hey guys.
Been reading this for a few days now, and must say all your updates have been great. Really enjoyed reading them.
Thought I'd sign up and have a go at it myself.

So to start off with, I've made Raw is War and Raw Supershow on a Friday night. RIW will have all the AE wrestlers and Raw SS will have current Smackdown and Raw competitors.

What I have done though, is replaced the likes of AE Edge/Christian/HHH - with the current ones.

    Raw Is War Belts;

    Major: WWF Championship '98-02 - Triple H
    Minor: Hardcore Championship - Mankind
Tag: World Tag Team Championship '02-10 - Edge & Christian (updated to newer version)

    Raw Super show Belts;

    Major: Undisputed Championship - Cena
    Minor: Intercontinental - Miz
Tag Team: Tag team Championship - Kofi & R-Truth

I will have separate PPV's. Raw Super Shows PPV taking place on the last Sunday of every Month, and RIW's PPV the first Sunday of each Month.

    ---

So I may aswell start the updates in this post instead of making a new one.

    Week 1

    Match #1
    Mr.McMahon vs Godfather

Must say I was really surprised to see this and thought about changing the match, but in the end decided it could start something between the Corp and maybe a Stable that Godfather starts.

Godfather won this match it what was a great effort from both competitors. Godfather drove Vinny Mac through the Announce table. Vincent got up and started pummeling on Godfather splitting him wide open. Before delivering a Stunner. Godfather kicked out and delivered a fall away slam. Vince kicked out on 2, and after kicking out received another Fall away slam, which finished him off.

    Match #2
The APA vs Big Boss Man & Ken Shamrock (Corp)

The first tag team match of the evening, ended in what was a shock victory for the Corp. I say shock victory because for the first 5 minutes of the contest, they were no match at all for APA. Bradshaw and Faarooq didn't let Big Boss Man anywhere near his corner. The APA tagged each other in, performing double team moves to the helpless Boss Man. Finally Boss Man managed to get tag in his partner. The Mix martial artist took it to Faarooq. A flurry of headbutts, kicks and punches, were followed by some technically sound German Suplex. Shamrock went for the Ankle Lock, but Bradshaw jumped in and broke it up. Which gave Faarooq a few seconds to compose himself, and after delivering a punch to Shamrock managed to get a tag in on Bradshaw. The tide turned again and it was APA's time to dominate. Shamrock tagged Boss Man in and Shaw tagged in Faarooq, who went attempted his finisher which was reversed by the Boss who delivered his own finisher. 1 - 2 - 3. And The Corp win.

    Match #3
LOD vs The New Age Outlaws

This was by far the quickest match I've ever seen, it was literally over in about 2 minutes. Animal and Road Dogg started off, Animal had the upper hand and was dominating. Road Dogg tagged in, Billy Gunn was next up for an absolute beating. Animal split him wide open and performed his finisher and it was over as quick as that.

It looks like LOD and The Corp will be fighting it out for that #1 contenders spot.

    Match #4
    Christian vs Vader

During Christians entrance, Cody Rhodes decided to attack him, and roll him into the ring (my first cut-scene, not too bad). Vader performs a few stomps, and Christian grabs his leg on the fourth. Back and forth right hands followed, and one half of the Tag champs, won the first tie up.
Christian got in a few elbows from the grappled position and then threw Vader out of the ring, and spearing him straight through the barricade. Rolling Vader back up inside the ring and performing a jaw breaker. Cutting him wide open (somehow? From a Jawbreaker). Vader kicks out at one. Christian connects with a European Uppercut from the top. The guy in the mask started finally to fight back, only for Christian to reverse a punch and connecting with the Killswitch. Christian Wins

Post match Rhodes returns to the ring jumping the winner from behind, and attacking him with a steel pole.

    Match #5
    Stone Cold vs Jericho

Jericho started the match well, with a swinging neck breaker. Before throwing Austin into the turnbuckle and suplexing him from the top rope.
He started to work on Stone Colds torso after this, with a series of moves that left him hunched. Austin started to make a come back and had a spell of dominance, stomping a mud hole in Chris. The tide turned again after Austin missed with a right hand. This would prove to be the last tide turn as a few moments after, he locked in the Walls of Jericho/Lion Tamer.

    -

So that's the first Week of RIW action! I hope my update was okay, too much information maybe. I might keep it to how the match was won via which move etc.

Should be noted that I myself have not had this issue... no wrestler that I have as "Inactive" have shown up. But I have heard others say that Inactive wrestlers will still show up in cutscenes and such.

2.) Go to the schedule, select a show, and hit the "edit" button. Once in the edit screen, you can select what titles are on each show. All you would do is just select the same belts for each show. By default, Raw and Smackdown share the same Tag Team belts.
Thanks, I'll try that out and get back to see if it worked. I will say that I saw John Cena as a rival of one of my attitude era wrestlers. I'll delete that and also make him (and the rest of the non-attitide era guys) inactive.

EDIT I'm guessing with the shared tag team title between the 2 rosters, they'd only compete against each other in a shared PPV. Right?

Are you only playing CPU booking, or are you booking your own cards?

They probably would only book them on shared PPV's, but maybe not. I know that I've seen inter-promotional #1 Contender's matches on like Raw or Smackdown.

I just made a Tag Team Belt that I have on both shows/rosters. And I went to my first PPV with the shared rosters and the CPU scheduled Tag Team Championship between Edge and Christian (Raw is War Roster) vs Bradshaw and Faarooq (Smackdown! Roster). So it looks like the CPU will schedule cross-roster championships without you going in there to mess with it.

          Thanks for the help.

Does anybody else think there is way too many matches being won by submission, 3 of the matches on my RIW this week have ended in a submission.

              Are you watching or playing?

I feel like the matches I play very rarely end in submission.

I'm so lost with this WWE Universe mode. I know it has unlocks in it, but not sure how the heck I'm supposed to get to them.

I haven't gotten too far in to mine yet, I'm still working on a lot of my created guys move sets and sorting out my rosters. I have two shows, a WWF and a WCW/NWA show, with both rosterd full of 80s-attitude era guys. I have Prime Time Wrestling on Monday, WCW Saturday NIght on Saturday, and on Thurs I have Superstars with both brands. I have Stone Cold with the 88 WWF Title and Mr Perfect as IC Champ. Flair is the World Champ and Windham is the US Champ. The classic WWF Tag Titles are shared between the two brands, the New Age Outlaws just took the titles from the Horsemen (Blanchard/Anderson). Once the extra WCW belts are released I'm going to add a 2nd set of tag titles as long as they are the belts from the Dangerous Alliance era as opposed to the belts from WCWs final days. I'm about to start moving some guys around on rosters to get the faces and heels more balanced. My biggest problem is that I have all these tag teams but the cpu is always booking the tag team wrestlers in singles matches, or it will book half of the team with a random singles wrestler like Hogan and Neidhart, and I don't want to change any of the matches because I use custom arenas and that will cause the game to freeze.

My plan with the PPVs was to have 8 shows with both brands, Rumble, WM, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Super Brawl, GAB, Halloween Havoc, and Starrcade and the other four months will be 2 Saturday Nights Main Events and 2 Clash of the Champions that would be 1 brand shows, but it seems like if you don't have a show in a month, the storylines seem to go nowhere for a month.

You can also go into the game, go to Options from the main menu, and there is a selection for Unlockables, and you can highlight each locked item, it will tell you what it is and how to unlock it.

Sounds cool. I hear you with the constant booking of tag guys in singles matches. I would love a feature where you gave the CPU percentages on bookings. Or if they at least limited the tag guys in singles to one show slot a night. If you have an ongoing storyline with a couple of different tag teams you can have some of your higher end talent get lost in the shuffle. On my Smackdown show Sheamus, Barrett, Orton, and Del Rio all basically didn't get booked for the last month. I had Barrett and Orton as a tag team on WWE12 and that was fun... maybe I should do that again so they can start geting booked.

Also, really looking forward to he new belts coming out.

                            MAY | Week 4
                            Over The Limit - Results

                            WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
                            Falls Count Anywhere Match
Shane McMahon def. David Otunga (C)
At times, this match may have as well been a tag team match, with Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis getting involved from their respective corners. Otunga and Laurinaitis constantly ganged up on Shane McMahon. Still, Shane-O-Mac fought through it, and seemed to have Otunga put away after an elbow drop from the top rope. Laurinaitis distracted the referee, which led to Shane McMahon leaving the ring to go after Laurinaitis. After Otunga got back to his feet, the 2 men fought outside the ring, up the ramp and back down. With Vince McMahon in the face of John Laurinaitis, Shane McMahon was finally able to pick up the win, pinning Otunga after a suplex on the steel ramp.

                            CM Punk def. Kane
After being attacked backstage by Kane, CM Punk returned on Raw and demanded this match. As expected, Kane was a formidable opponent for Punk, who needed 3 GTS' to finally put down the Big Red Machine. Before the match would end, Dolph Ziggler rushed down to ringside, tossing a sledge hammer into the ring and distracting the referee, seemingly for help Kane. The Rock followed Ziggler, and began attacking Ziggler as the 2 fought their way backstage. CM Punk grabbed the sledge hammer, using it on Kane, and finishing him off with a 3rd and final GTS.

                            WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Miz (C) def. Christian and X-Pac
The Miz was unhappy leading into Over The Limit about having to defend his Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat match, but he would prevail, pinning Christian after a long and grueling match. A bloodied Miz celebrated his successful title defense while his opponents lay in the ring, mangled and beaten.

                            MMA Rules
                            Brock Lesnar def. Ken Shamrock
Lesnar's momentum the past few weeks carried over into his MMA Rules match against Ken Shamrock, KO'ing the World's Most Dangerous Man after 3 consecutive powerbombs.

                            WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Kharma def. Nikki Bella (C) and Beth Phoenix

                            WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Rock def. Big Show via count out
Big Show dominated the match early, and it looked as though he would walk out of Over The Limit the new WWE Champion. Momentum would shift after the match spilled outside the ring, and The Rock would pick up a count out victory after laying Big Show out with a Spinebuster outside the ring.

                            WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
                            I Quit Match
Stone Cold Steve Austin (C) def. Bret Hart
Stone Cold dominated this match from the opening bell, but struggled to get those 2 magical words out of Bret Hart. Austin his Hart with numerous Stunners, as well as chair shots and attacks from the steel steps, but Hart refused to give in. Austin finally finished Hart off with a DDT through the announce table. Even then, Hart hesitated, but finally submitted, saying "I Quit" into the microphone.

It's been my observation that the CPU books based firstly on the rankings for the different belts. You can't take guys out of the running for the major belts but you CAN take them out for minor belts. So if you take your main event guys out of the running for your minor belts you can minimize how often they'll interact with guys who aren't in the major title picture. Or at least, that's what's worked for me so far.
