Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
Just to be clear, this isn't a go at you, it's actually something that I have considered as well, although I don't play by it.
For me, I consider these guys "characters" in a work of fiction (let's be real here, these guys are just glorified stuntmen putting on live theater), so I have guys like British Bulldog, Big Bossman, and Eddie Guerrero who are dead in real life, but to me, their characters can live on.
But in the past, I have considered that "realistic to compete" mentality... Obviously, guys like The Rock, HBK... they can still compete. How would you consider Bret Hart? He's been on TV and PPV's recently, so I feel okay putting him on my rosters even using that criteria. What about Edge? I mean, he's young and overall healthy enough to compete, but he has the neck injuries. JBL?
Like I said, I'm just curious, I think it's actually an interesting idea, although I pretty much just use the guys I like regardless.
I typically keep the default feuds / alliances, with only certain changes in certain exceptions. If you have them set already, the game will have something to work off of. If you leave them blank, you'll get cutscenes, but the game won't have as much to work with, and you may have to do more to get the game to trigger feuds and stories.Comment

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
The past week in WWE:
MAY | Week 2
Monday Night Raw
The show started off with Kane attacking CM Punk backstage. CM Punk was quickly laid out after Kane powerbombed him into a soda machine.
David Otunga def. Zack Ryder
Ken Shamrock then came out to explain his attack on Brock Lesnar last week. He explained that he wants a match with Lesnar at Over The Limit, an MMA match. Shamrock wants a crack at Lesnar's MMA fighting ability. Lesnar responded by coming to the ring and delivering an F5. In 2 weeks at Over The Limit, these two will face off against each other in an MMA rules match!
#1 Contender's Match
Kharma def. Brie Bella
After the match, Brie Bella showed her frustration by attacking Kharma on the stage.
John Cena v. Mankind
No Contest
The match was ruled No Contest after Big Show came out and attacked both men.
Friday Night Smackdown
WWE Tag Team Championship
Dolph Ziggler & Jack Swagger def. Team Hell No (C)
No Disqualification
Shane McMahon def. Sheamus
After Sheamus' attack on the McMahons last week, Shane-O-Mac faced off against Sheamus in a No Disqualification match. The match was brutal on both men, highlighted by Shane McMahon elbow dropping through the announce table as Sheamus rolled out of the way just in time. Shane later hit on an elbow drop to the outside from the top rope, and finally put Sheamus away with another elbow drop inside the ring (and a little help from Daddy McMahon).
Rikishi def. Cody Rhodes
Sin Cara def. The Miz
The Miz took a loss to Sin Cara after Christian interfered, in retaliation for Miz' tactics last week to keep hold of the Intercontinental Championship.
Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to the ring to call out Bret Hart for attacking him last week. Instead of Bret Hart, John Laurinaitis came to the ring and announced that he was the one behind Bret Hart attacking Austin. Shortly after this declaration, The Hitman's music hit, and Bret Hart came to the ring to challenge Austin for his title at Over The Limit. Austin accepted the challenge, and quickly gave a Stunner to Laurinaitis. Austin and Hart rumbled outside of the ring, where Austin attacked Hart with a steel chair, before sending him back into the ring and closing the show with a Stunner to his Over The Limit opponent.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
MAY | Week 3
Monday Night Raw
Vince McMahon came to the ring to call out John Laurinaitis for his actions of late - first, costing Santino Marella the United States Championship, and then working alongside Bret Hart to get back at the McMahons. Vince demanded that Laurinaitis come out and face him. Laurinaitis did come out, and Vince demanded that Laurinaitis make a match for Over The Limit, with David Otunga defending his United States Championship against Shane McMahon. Laurinaitis agreed. In the spirit of announcing title matches, Laurinaitis had also announced that he had determined a #1 Contender to face The Rock at Over The Limit, and that man would be Big Show. After the announcement, Stone Cold came to the ring, stating he didn't care who the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship was, that he was only there to open a can of whoop ***. Stone Cold delivered a Stunner to John Laurinaitis. In typical Stone Cold fashion, he also delivered another Stunner to Vince McMahon before leaving the ring.
Mankind and John Cena def. Big Show and Kane
Mankind and John Cena got an opportunity to face off against the man who attacked both of them last week in a tag team match, where Big Show was teamed with Kane, furthering speculation that he may be in cahoots with John Laurinaitis, and that was the motivation for Kane's attack on CM Punk last week. The match would end with Mankind pinning Big Show after a double arm DDT.
Brock Lesnar def. Val Venis
Lesnar was certainly attempting to send a message to Ken Shamrock with his domination over Val Venis, defeating him in a squash match.
Christian v. X-Pac - No Contest
This match was short lived, with The Miz running down to the ring and laying out both men with a Skull Crushing Finale each. With the match thrown out, Miz is certainly not making friends within the Intercontinental Championship division.
David Otunga def. The Rock
Team Laurinaitis continued their rule of tyranny on Raw as Otunga faced off against The Rock, with John Laurinaitis in his corner. Otunga and Rock put a beating on each other, with the match spilling outside the ring several times. Frustrated with Laurinaitis' antics, The Rock sent a message by giving him a Rock Bottom through the announce table. Otunga and Rock continued to brawl outside the ring, finally getting back into the ring. The Rock thought he had the match won following a People's Elbow, but Laurinaitis had gotten himself regathered, and distracted the referee making the count. With the referee distracted, Otunga hit his finisher on The Rock, and made the cover just in time for the referee to turn around and make the 3 count.
Friday Night Smackdown
Daniel Bryan came down to the ring to confront Kane about his actions since losing the Tag Team Championship, namely his attack on CM Punk, and teaming up with Big Show on Raw. Daniel Bryan wanted to know if Kane had aligned himself with John Laurinaitis. Mr. Excitement came to the ring to address Daniel Bryan, but before Bryan could get any satisfactory answers, Kane came down to the ring and delivered a chokeslam to his tag team partner. Immediately after, Kane set his sights on John Laurinaitis, giving him a chokeslam as well before leaving the ring. With Kane's actions, it is still unknown where his allegiances lay.
British Bulldog def. Sheamus
British Bulldog dominated most of the match, and even overcame Bret Hart coming down to distract the referee and give Sheamus a sledge hammer. Bulldog was still able to overcome and pick up the victory.
Undertaker def. Mark Henry
Backstage Brawl
Stone Cold v. Bret Hart
The opponents for Over The Limit found themselves battling through the backstage area. Stone Cold left Bret Hart laid out, intensifying the animosity between these men heading into the World Heavyweight Championship match.
Sheamus def. Daniel Bryan
The scheduled match on the card was Randy Orton versus Daniel Bryan, but as Randy Orton made his way to the ring, Sheamus attacked him from behind, taking him out and putting himself into the match. Frustrated at his losing streak since dropping the World Heavyweight Championship to Austin at Extreme Rules, Sheamus took it out on Daniel Bryan, even putting him through the announce table. Sheamus finally finished the job after a 2nd Broque Kick nearly decapitated Daniel Bryan.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
Hey man, great read so far, keep up the good work!
Quick question. I haven't played the game in a few days, but when I have played i've been HOOKED on the Attitude ERA mode. I haven't dove into any other mode yet and this is also my first wrestling game since HERE COMES THE PAIN years back on the playstation 2!
That being said, i'm not really sure how this mode works, but from reading this and reviews about the game I do have a better understanding of it. My question to you is (or anyone else that can answer this question) can I have ALL of the superstars included in my UNIVERSE? Or, do I need to unlock the superstars that aren't already automatically in the game?
For example, if I were to just plop the game in and start a Universe right away, would I have the ability to put MANKIND in my universe? Or would I have to wait until I unlock him by playing the Attitude ERA mode?
Thanks!Comment

I may pay for the Fan Axxess and the other one so I can all the DLC. I feel bad for kids out there who's parents dont have the chips to pay for all this DLC. Im blessed enough to have a decent job to pay but I dont think its fair to those a little less fortunate to have a lesser game experience when they HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED the game.
Just saying I think its messed upRather than complain about life, take responsibility and do something about it..Comment

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
MAY | Week 4
Monday Night Raw
David Otunga came to the ring, escorted by John Laurinaitis, bragging about his victory over The Rock last week on Raw. Otunga was interrupted by CM Punk, making his first appearance on Raw since being attacked backstage by Kane. CM Punk demanded a match with Kane at Over The Limit, and celebrated getting his match by laying the United States Champion out with a GTS.
Brock Lesnar def. Mike Tyson
Last week, Lesnar took out Val Venis in a warmup match for his MMA Rules match against Ken Shamrock at Over The Limit. This week, Lesnar faced a more formidable opponent in Mike Tyson. It was a vicious match that saw Lesnar finally pick up the pinfall victory with an F5. Lesnar has been on a roll leading up to Over The Limit, now the question will be if he can carry that momentum into his match against the world's most dangerous man.
Chris Jericho def. John Cena
The 2 former champions faced off in a back and forth, competitive match. John Cena eventually got the upper hand, but just as he did, David Otunga ran down to ringside and tossed a sledge hammer into the ring to Jericho and distracted the referee long enough for Jericho to use the weapon on Cena. The Rock rushed down to take out Otunga, but the damage had been done. Jericho used the distraction to beatdown Cena with the sledge hammer, and then finish Cena off with a Codebreaker.
The Miz came to the ring to address having to defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat Match against X-Pac and Christian. The Miz was interrupted by a familiar theme... the theme of D-Generation X! Triple H and Shawn Michaels came down to the ring and attacked The Miz, leaving him laid out after a Pedigree. With DX back in the picture, are the odds now stacked against the champion, now that at least one challenger, X-Pac, will have people in his corner?
Stone Cold and The Rock def. Big Show and Bret Hart
A tag team match that would be a preview of the championship matches at Over The Limit would see the champions take out their challengers, as John Laurinaitis and Vince McMahon watched from ringside, cheering on their respective teams. Following the victory, Vince McMahon stood in the ring with The Rock and Stone Cold, raising both men's hands in celebration.
Friday Night Smackdown
Stone Cold def. Big Show
A mismatched pair of champion and challenger faced off in a one on one match, with John Laurinaitis in Big Show's corner. Due to John Laurinaitis' distractions, it would take Stone Cold 4 Stunners to the World's Largest Athlete to finally put his opponent away, only after Laurinaitis was finally ejected from ringside.
Triple H def. The Miz
After the actions of DX on Raw, Triple H faced off against the Intercontinental Champion on Smackdown. Triple H would eventually pick up the victory, but not before United States Champion David Otunga would get himself involved, attempting to help The Miz. Triple H overcame, and defeated The Miz with a Pedigree.
Bret Hart def. Daniel Bryan
An epic, 5 star match ended with Bret Hart submitting Daniel Bryan to the Sharpshooter, giving Bret Hart a huge victory leading into his title shot at Over The Limit.
David Otunga def. Shawn Michaels
Following his interference in Triple H's match against The Miz, David Otunga was scheduled for a match against Triple H's DX teammate Shawn Michaels. With John Laurinaitis in his corner, David Otunga was able to avoid defeat to 4 Sweet Chin Music superkicks, and weaseled himself into a victory over the Heartbreak Kid. Following the victory, Beth Phoenix came down to ringside to meet Otunga, and escort him back to the locker room, revealing a new alliance within Team Laurinaitis. In 2 weeks time, Otunga now has victories against The Rock and Shawn Michaels heading into his title defense against Shane McMahon. Can David Otunga and Team Laurinaitis be stopped?
Sheamus def. Randy Orton
This match came about after Sheamus attacked Orton on his way to the ring to face Daniel Bryan. Sheamus faced off against Daniel Bryan instead, picking up the victory. This week, Sheamus faced off against the Apex Predator who he blindsided last week. Just as Sheamus began to get an upper hand, and appeared to be setting up for a Broque Kick, Daniel Bryan's music hit. Sheamus looked around, but Daniel Bryan never appeared. Orton regathered himself, and got himself back into the match, but Sheamus picked up the victory after reversing an RKO, and finished Orton off with a Broque Kick.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
MAY | Week 4
Over The Limit
PREVIEW
WWE United States Championship
Falls Count Anywhere
David Otunga (C) v. Shane McMahon
John Laurinaitis has been on an unstoppable power trip, and United States Champion David Otunga has been his enforcer. The rivalry between Team Laurinaitis and The Corporation led to Shane McMahon getting a shot at Otunga's United States Championship. This feud will see it's climax in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
CM Punk v. Kane
Kane's loyalties are unknown - is he working with Team Laurinaitis? Is he still a part of Team Hell No? Kane hasn't done much to answer those questions, chokeslamming both Daniel Bryan and John Laurinaitis, and hasn't been involved with Daniel Bryan since losing the Tag Team Championships to Ziggler & Swagger. However, CM Punk is out for blood after being taken out inexplicably by Kane on Monday Night Raw. CM Punk gets his chance for vengeance at Over The Limit.
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
The Miz (C) v. X-Pac v. Christian
The Miz has been on a bit of a roll since successfully defending his championship against Mike Tyson at Extreme Rules, and his ego has grown in the process. Mike Tyson supported X-Pac to follow up his unsuccessful title shot, and The Miz has gone on to anger the entire ranks of D-Generation X in the process. Meanwhile, Miz also weaseled his way out of dropping the title to Christian by intentionally disqualifying himself. Both X-Pac and Christian have legitimate claims to Miz' Intercontinental Championship, which will be decided in a Triple Threat match. Outnumbered, the odds aren't in the champion's favor.
MMA Rules
Brock Lesnar v. Ken Shamrock
Ken Shamrock arrived on Raw to challenge Brock Lesnar to an MMA Rules match at Over The Limit. Lesnar accepted with an F5 to Shamrock, and has since been on a tear. These 2 will determine who is the better mixed martial arts fighter on Sunday.
WWE DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP
Nikki Bella (C) v. Kharma v. Beth Phoenix
Nikki Bella will have her hands full in a triple threat match, with the female wrecking ball that is Kharma, as well as Beth Phoenix, the former champion who now has the ranks of Team Laurinaitis in her corner.
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
The Rock (C) v. Big Show
John Laurinaitis hand selected his own stable mate Big Show to challenge for Rock's WWE Championship, having Big Show take out any challengers to Rock's title in the process. With Team Laurinaitis sights set on The Rock and WWE gold, The Rock will have his hands full.
WWE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
I Quit Match
Stone Cold Steve Austin (C) v. Bret Hart
Bret Hart turned his back on the Hart Foundation and his friend British Bulldog, and this championship opportunity seems to be the reason why. Laurinaitis hand selected Bret Hart to be the challenger for this belt, with both men sharing a mutual desire to get over on Vince McMahon. A business decision quickly became personal, as the champion and challenger have been at each other the past few weeks in violent confrontation. There have been no limits to the extremes these 2 men have been willing to go, and that will carry over into what promises to be a classic matchup between 2 of the all time greats.

Re: WWE '13 Universe Mode Thread - How's Your's Going?
I haven't played a WWE game in forever, so I have a couple questions concerning Universe mode for those who are more experienced.
I have unlocked all the Attitude players by completing the Attitude mode. After doing so, I then decided to start a Universe mode.
I made 2 rosters, Raw is War and Smackdown! Both rosters are about 20 wrestlers each with the majority of the high profile guys on Raw. These 40 or so wrestlers on both rosters are strictly Attitude Era.
Here are my 2 questions:
1. I saw John Cena interfere in one of my matches, but like I noted, I only have the Attitude players designated in my rosters. Do I have to make all of those I don't want showing up inactive?
2. How do you share a belt between the 2 shows/rosters? I want to do this with Tag Team because I only have 3 teams in each show/roster.Comment
