Most people would probably say Here Comes the Pain but, it was mostly the roster that made that game great (Goldberg, Lesnar, rock, stone cold ect.). The game has not evolved very much mechanic-wise and so the games seem very similar. If I had to chose one, I would say Raw vs Smackdown 2008. I believe that the GM mode was the WWE equivalent of a Franchise mode and was the single most interesting dynamic ever put in a video game.

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
Owning several WWE PSP games, I would not recommend it. The console versions aren't all that great, so striping them done even further would probably not be the best idea and the games suffers because of it. If you really enjoy the consoles versions, the PSP versions are a lot of the same with more bugs and less control.MY T3AMS

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
My favorite wwe game ever has to be here comes the pain, Ive had so much fun playing through the season mode over and over with different guys and gameplay is super fun.
My favorite wwe game on this generation of consoles is svr 2007, this game was so fun and was the last wwe game with a good submission system wich is a big thing for me. The season mode was awesome with multiple different routes you can go and I beleive everyone in the game did voice overs for season mode wich was pretty cool. And this game had gm mode wich i could play all day.Comment

Spoiler
SpoilerI kid. I kid. What a horrendous game that was.
I would have to say Here Comes the Pain. Had tons of fun with that game. WWE '13 was my first time playing a wrestling game again since Smackdown vs. RAW 2007.
These two games took up many hours of time for me in the late 90's. I could literally spend a whole day playing them. I still own them to this day complete in the box.

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
No Mercy was the best, so many storylines for every single title so much to buy in the shopzone, so many match options, so many options with character alteration and creation, it started with WCW vs. NWO world tour and they just kept improving it by the time they switch to wwe and no mercy came out it was darn near perfect.Comment

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
There have been plenty of outstanding WWE/WWF games throughout the years, so it is VERY difficult to pick a "best" out of the bunch. I think the choices would have to be between the following (in no particular order):
Shut Your Mouth (Story Mode, all that needs to be said)
Here Comes the Pain (Best roster in WWE gaming history)
SvR 2006 (Innovative, tremendous AI)
SvR 2007 (GM Mode and Season Mode were outstanding)
SvR 2011 (purely because of the customization options. The reversal-spamming almost ruins it)
WWE 13 (the customization, fluid animations, and PvP gameplay is outstanding)
WWF No Mercy (EVERYTHING is outstanding)
Now, I know I might get some flack for putting WWE 13 in this list, but I think it deserves its place. Had THQ fixed the bugs, kept the reversal system from WWE '12 ('13 was far too easy to reverse grapples), kept the AI from WWE '12 (no announcer-table BS), and figured out a way to make the weapon physics work like they did in SvR 2011, I think the game would have been nearly perfect.
If WWE 2k14 does the above things, and maybe adds in an Owner/GM Mode (yes Universe is close, but if they just combine Story Creator with Universe mode and add in the financial and ratings aspects of the WWE, it would be PERFECT). This is why I say ADD an Owner/GM Mode with those tweaks, because plenty of people enjoy Universe Mode as-is, and making two separate modes would keep everyone happy.Comment

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
I would say Day of Reckoning. I haven't gotten around to playing the 2nd one, but I loved the first one so much and put so much time into playing it. It stills gives me odd feelings when I see an Eddie/Benoit match in this game. This game was so much fun for me and I created so many guys (they were terrible but oh well.) One of my favorite GameCube games, let alone wrestling games.NFL: Houston Texans / Carolina Panthers

NASCAR: Ryan Newman

I think those games get overlooked because of the system. My brothers and I had all three systems in our house and I never thought to get a wrestling game on anything other than the PS2 because of the Smackdowns. Except for Know Your Role. That **** sucked.

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
HTCP IMO is the best wrestling game made since the N64 games. It had a nice mix of gameplay from those games with more expanded move sets, plus the game was pretty challenging with out being a cheap reversal fest like it is now.
I hope the next gen WWE games take notes from HCTPs gameplayComment

Re: Best WWE Video Game?
I’ve only owned a couple of the games: HCTP (real young), ’07, ’08, and ’09. I have played through ’11 and ’12 though. I kinda lost interest in WWE around 08-09 so I stopped buying.
I liked ’08 the most out of all of them actually. The 24/7 mode was fun and I wish they’d improve on it as well as GM Mode and add them back to the game. The fighting styles were “meh” but they didn’t hinder my liking of the game. I think I may have enjoyed ’09 if it hadn’t of gotten the ring. My dad tried to move my XBOX while I was playing it. I do remember playing HCTP season mode with Kurt Angle but don’t remember how I felt about the game as I was pretty young playing it on PS2, like 7 or 8 lol.Comment
