    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

I bought the WWE Network for the nostalgia and the network itself got me watching the product again, which I hadn't watched since WM 20.

Despite all of the content that is available, I find myself disappointed with the WWE Network and am thinking about not renewing it. The current product doesn't hold my interest very well, so I find myself only using the Network for the documentaries, Legends of Wrestling, and sometimes WWE Countdown.

Does anyone else feel this way? There's so much stuff on there already and I know it takes time, but the content on there right now isn't what I want. Having every PPV is great, but it's not the same without the TV buildup. Especially the PPVs from the 80s, particularly NWA/WCW. And what TV buildup is available, like RAW 93 and 94, that is when the WWE was pretty bad and RAW was full of jobbers.

I think I will be much more invested into the Network once WCW Nitro is uploaded. Same with ECW, I never watched it growing up. They have some ECW Hardcore TV from 93 and 94, but the first ECW PPV was in 1997.

I do recognize that the WWE Network is a great bargain, especially if you watch the current product for the PPVs. But for someone like me who watches it for the older stuff, the best has definitely yet to come IMO.

Every raw from 96-01 is up on Daily Motion. Go watch that for the buildup, then watch the nice HQ stream on the Network. Good stuff.

I bought it for the same reason. I had every intention of watching it for six months and then probably getting sick of it and cancelling but I've actually gotten back in to the current stuff because of it. WrestleMania 30 was my first ppv since Wreslemania 18. I agree that I wish there was more stuff showing the buildups, even if they don't keep it up permanently I'd love to see them add some of the old weekly shows like primetime or the old NWA stuff.

I have and have had these from XWT, but you can't beat that Network quality, it spoils you lol.

Just caught the last 45 seconds or so of the Y2J documentary being re-aired. That's always been one of my favorites. So well done and he has a great story to tell; and does a great job of telling it.

Quick question for those that have seen it or that just watched it - I've always felt that the Big Show kind of gives Jericho backhanded compliments throughout the documentary when they talk to him. Comments along the lines of "Chris Jericho is so persistent which is why he gets where he is" or "Jericho always has knack for putting himself in the right position at the right time". Sounds like Big Show is trying to convey that Jericho is more of a politician than a great performer, and it's always bothered me. Thoughts?

I'm sure Big Show is the same way. You do have to play that political game to an extent to get ahead in WWE. I am reading Jericho's 2nd book right now and he did present a lot of ideas to Vince and co. Nothing wrong with that, and in fact, that is encouraged, even if the pitches wind up in the trash.

I agree that you HAVE to be that way to succeed in this business. Hell, while HBK was probably the greatest superstar ever, he was probably the greatest backstage politician, as well.

I just think that, like everyone else was doing in the doc, Big Show could have given Jericho some damn credit for his abilities.

I was surprised that they ranked DX higher than NWO during the WWE Greatest Factions special.

Man, 1999 WWF was amazing. A rivalry between a porn star and an MMA fighter because the porn star was doing the MMA fighter's sister. And the special guest referee is Mr. ***.

My biggest gripe with the network is I wish it picked up where you left off.
