Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
If the WWE had made the Network available in NORTH America on launch day I bet you they'd have hit over a million subscribers easily. people tend to underestimate how strong the Canadian market for WWE has been through the years. Remember, in the early/mid '90s it was the Canadian side of the North American market that was keeping Vince afloat until creative hit its stride and the Monday Night Wars really went WWE's way.
The way the Network is set up in Canada at least for the foreseeable future doesn't really help their subscriber base unless they're going to count the cable subscription rates coming from Rogers Communications.
Anywho, I bet if Vince had to do it over again he'd have made it available on the continent at the very least.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

There are a lot of people who don't know what over-the-top delivery is. It took them months to start saying it was "like Netflix and Hulu" to describe it.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Myself and a buddy of mine were discussing the Network. Our big thing is, Vince is too proud to go back to the way it was. He would have to go to Dish and whoever else dropped PPVs and ask them to pick them back up. I think he'll do whatever it takes to keep this thing going.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I don't know that I'd call 700,000 in five months disappointing or a disaster. I think they oversold expectations during the initial announcement, but that's what companies do to enhance the perception. The number itself seems fine for a new service.
I'll agree that they explained the delivery poorly and they need to make a variety of content available alongside the chronological Raw uploads.
I'm still betting they eventually settle in around 600k-700k, and jack the price up to compensate.Comment

I don't get how over 10% of the USA tv audience is bad for WWE Network subscriptions. Netflix has over 35M subscribers WORLDWIDE and that's the most popular thing out there which attracts fans of hundreds of past + current tv series/movies. WWE Network once it goes worldwide will get over 1M combined for sure(maybe even 2-3M,depending just how many fans are actually in the "WWE Universe" outside of USA) and WWE is just 1 brand. I'd consider those numbers good.Comment

I cannot wait until they start adding 1996-1997 RAWs. I need more whining ***** Bret Hart on my TV screen. I couldn't stand Hart back then and was a huge HBK and Austin fan, those were the best times.XBL: DTX3

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
The problem is they're completely bonkers when it comes to the numbers they're expecting to hit one day. The CFO is so misinformed he gets on the phone with stockholders and says they're going to eventually have 3 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. I'm more likely to get angry and turn into the Hulk. They'll be lucky if they even hit 1 million once its rolled out worldwide.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Watched Wrestlemania 2000 yesterday. The triangle ladder match was great, Edge and Christian winning kind of felt anticlimatic because I forgot they were even in the match for like 10-15 minutes it felt like.
This was the first time i've seen Eddie and Benoit during my WWE PPV watch and it just made the whole viewing kind of weird when you notice how many of these wrestlers are no longer with us just on this one card. They even showed Michael Clarke Duncan ringside before the Main Event
Speaking of the Main Event, even though The Rock got screwed him rock bottoming all 3 of the McMahons to end the show was just great.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Just noticed Jacqueline in one of those Double J vignettes in a '93 RAW episode. Think the one after The Brain's last RAW. Looked like it was pre-enhancements too lol.Comment

If notice in the early Raws, you'll see a lot of enhancement talents that had decent WWE careers in the future. For example, I saw Scotty Too Hotty AKA Scott Taylor.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football
