I could very well see him ending up with a post in ring career job with WWE. Could be an asset at the PC to help with the big guys who are signed. Seems to have a lot of knowledge to share.

He's ancient as big men go. They age way worse. He used to be super athletic (and also relatively skinny) but it's time for him to be off my TV.

Nothing against him, he's a good guy and is a no doubt WWE Hall of Famer - it's just that by now he drags down every segment he's in.

Yeah, Wight does have a good mind for the business.

I watched this show the other day. You can see the questions Austin was asking him about how he'd been booked and making fun of all of his face/heel turns were a bit of a sensitive subject. I get why he'd be a little upset/testy about that.

Ya, I definitely see him staying with WWE after all this. Performance Center seems most likely since there's not many big men WWE has who could really help out some of the bigger guys. Kane I think he's doing politics or being a lawyer or something like that, Taker has a family in Texas(I think he lives in Texas?), so Big Show would be one of their only real choices.

I'm up to September 97 now with RAW and Nitro. Bret Hart called HBK and HHH homos on an episode of RAW and my first thought was "OMG can you imagine the **** he would be in if he said that today in 2016?" I love this era of zero ****s given.

Yeah that's what I was talking about a couple weeks back when I said they really could say whatever they wanted.

I hate how I don't got time/patience to watch full years of WWE. I managed to get through 97,but it took me from January-November to do so(I wasn't even trying to do 1 a week, just didn't have as much time to watch as I thought).

97 overall had ups and downs, but Austin,Bret,Foley were my fave parts of that year. Too bad politics ruled WWE during that time, Hart Foundation was so good during that. And their production back then sucked(or was it just planned that way), lol, some moments cut off of TV cause they ran out of time. HBK-Bret confrontation in the ring....Raw ends, despite things actually going down between them on the show.

Not just WWE, but TV in general, it's sad to think that what some shows did in the past, would be criticized like crazy if they even did that today, cause of how PC society is, and people are offended by everything, and have major public platforms like twitter to express those comments.

I feel you on the first part. It took me over a year to get from May 1996-September 1997 and I can honestly say I've only watched one or two episodes of either RAW or Nitro all the way through. Thank God for the milestones because I can skip through the boring stuff, which was a lot in WWF especially. I just don't have the time or patience to watch full episodes so I just re-watch the parts I'm interested in.

And yeah the PC culture is completely out of hand today in general, not just wrestling. It's one of the biggest reasons I think social media was one of the worst ideas ever because it gave EVERYONE a voice, especially those that should never express theirs. But that's a whole different discussion lol.

This has literally zero to do with what he posted.

PC culture expressed on Twitter. Twitter isn't social media? That's a huge platform of PC complaining. So yes, it does have something to do with what he said.

Read the post you have quoted. There's nothing about PC in there. It's edited in now.

But you're right. We're such a PC culture that South Park, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and everything don't exist. We're all too offended by them, and they'll never be lauded or win awards.

Yeah I edited my post after he edited his, I didn't put that in there randomly.

And as was pointed out to me in the past (because I made that same argument), you can't compare a publicly traded company like WWE to a TV show.

If you really believe that we don't live in a PC culture though, you're just extremely ignorant.

Thats the tough thing for wwe. People will go on making fun of WWE for being fake fighting and all, but the second anything "edgy" happens, somehow they suddenly become real, and the things said or done on tv get accused of being real thoughts and actions of someone playing a tv character.

People were offended by the Rusev/Lana Russian stuff. I see tv shows all the time take shots at other countries/their politics, but wwe has scripted things just like a tv show, but get bashed.

The only thing I can think of is the WWE has mostly tried to pass itself as real. I think their big worry is offending their sponsors because it's a big source of income.
