    Next Collections revealed:

Becoming The Rock: "Witness the evolution of The People's Champion. After a modest debut in 1996, The Rock's undeniable charisma convinced the WWE Universe to smell what he was cookin'! Watch as The Great One crosses the Nation Of Domination, and 'Brings It' to rivals like Triple H and Mankind, on his way to becoming The Most Electrifying Man In All Of Entertainment."

The War Games Collection: "Over the years, WarGames cemented its legacy as one of the most notorious, unpredictable, and innovative matches of all time. Two teams… Two Rings… And one punishing steel cage to contain all the action. This collection gathers every televised WarGames match in one place, and features iconic WCW Superstars like Sting, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, The nWo, The Road Warriors, and many more."

War Games is cool, Rock is meh. Pretty sure everyone has seen just about everything on him already.

Nice, I love the War Games concept and even if it's just all the PPV matches (they've done tours with the war games match that were televised but I doubt the Network will air some of those) i'd be happy to have one place to just watch those matches.

I read something that they sent a survey out asking how everyone would feel if they raised the price to 12.95 per month but put Raw episodes up 24 hours later instead of 30 days. I'd be in favor of that if they're full episodes. The only thing stopping me from getting rid of directv and just watching Raw on Hulu is that they don't have the full episodes

I read the same thing and I doubt WWE would only put up a heavily edited or recap edition of RAW if they're raising the price. I'm guessing we're looking at 3-5 dollars more. I think it's a good trade off and in some respects it kind of opens the door to the idea of putting all WWE product on the network rather than dealing with TV distribution in the US/Canada.

I was reading Dave Meltzer on Twitter about this. He said that if WWE did put everything on the Network it would be a disaster. He never got into details about it though.

I didn't read it, but I agree it wouldn't work. They'd be cutting off a ton of casual viewers, and making it hard for people to stumble across the product and become new fans. And they would have to increase the price by quite a bit, I think, and that'll get you fewer subscribers.

On the plus side, they wouldn't have to hear about the ratings going down every week.

He was asked this: @davemeltzerWON could you see a day where all WWE is Network only, including RAW and Smackdown? Could it work?

And replied with this: You never know about the future, but for the present, it would be a disaster for the company.

I think you would need a lot more subscribers before you even consider it. Because like you said you would a much lower chance of getting that new fan to stumble upon your product. I highly doubt you would see the WWE on TV anymore outside of the 3 minute weekly segment on SportsCenter on ESPNews on Tuesday nights or whatever.

Yeah, I didn't say it was a good idea myself though here's an intriguing thought: Put Smackdown on the Network and keep RAW on TV. RAW would be used to advance storylines and such but if you want a COMPLETE picture of everything that's going on you'll need to watch Smackdown. This would entice those who don't have the network and are interested in what's going on to subscribe so they can get the full picture of what's going on storyline wise.

                  I dunno, just a thought.

                    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

They're pretty much maxed out subscriber wise, at least in the countries where the network is available. If someone isn't going to pay $9.99 for all the PPVs and historic footage, adding live Raws to the network isn't going to get them to subscribe. They would get an increase in revenue if they sold commercial time during the live Raw, but Raw I believe gets between 2 and 3 million viewers per week. If every single network subscriber watched Raw live it would be less then 2 million viewers, so from advertiser's perspective, I'm not paying as much to advertise on the WWE network as I would on USA. I can't see them finding a way where leaving cable doesn't cost them money

I remember a couple of years ago they released a Best of War Games DVD and it had of some of the non-televised War Games. So I would assume that would include all of the War Games matches. I 'm with you, I hope its all of the War Games matches they put in the collections section.

It's actually more like 3.5-4 million viewers for Raw, and there are around 1.8 million network subscribers. So yeah, huge difference.

Plus the network is still in its relative infancy, especially in terms of influence and buzz. We're seeing that with how these NXT call ups aren't helping ratings in the least.

That's great. There's still a ton of classic shows that could use some updates. Who knows if they'll ever get done. I'm almost to 1987 in Prime Time Wrestling, meaning I've got about 4 months to go with the current upload and then I guess it's on to something else.

Watching Survivor Series 1988. Koko has WWF on the back of his tights, so his entire *** is blurred for his match. Found that kinda funny.

So back to the Raw and SD on the Network discussion. Meltzer gave his reasoning for why it would be a disaster. We got one issue, the making new fans issue that dubcity brought up. And the other reason was that it would destroy the value of the shows on TV.

Watching RAW 260 in May 98 and the crowd is absolutely on fire, especially for Stone Cold. It's really sad there's nothing to get as nearly excited about in today's product.
