Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
My favorite wrestlers of all time are: Goldberg, Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold, The Rock, and Ahmed Johnson.
Save for Austin and Rock, "smarks" hate all of those guys because they don't have great in-ring talent. So in that regard, I don't consider myself a smark. It didn't bother me that Daniel Bryan wasn't main eventing at WM nor did I think he deserved to win the RR this year. Those opinions are very anti-smark.Comment

The problem is people look at the word as if it has a negative connotation to it, when there's nothing bad about being one.
I feel like every year around this time, this conversation pops up around here, lol.
And I guarantee those people you mentioned aren't "hated" just because of their in ring abilities. Hell, I don't even think Hogan and Warrior are hated as much as you think. I'm speaking strictly here, mind you.Last edited by ProfessaPackMan; 04-08-2015, 05:00 PM.#RespectTheCultureComment

Can you only imagine if WWE was giving Hogan his push in the 80s and we actually had something like this forum, wait, I can, it would be almost like Cena now...Golf: Bubba

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I think that one annoys me the most about some of this stuff. Dudes legit convince themselves of how someone is getting no reaction or a reaction is different from what happened live later on when it's someone they hate.Comment

Go here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!fo....pro-wrestling
Play around with the last modified filter and set the dates back to the 90s. It's pretty hilarious. Here's one from May 1996 if Hogan were to turn heel https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...ng/Y4GlSh0NJLY
If he were heel, that would mean that he'd have to lose once in a while,
which would never happen. Hogan is just plain bad P.E.R.I.O.D!! He
can't wrestle. He has great charisma and that's what made him. Don't
you think that the heat he gets make him a heel???

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
I'm all for getting Attitude Era up on the Network, but I'mma need them to finish uploading 1996 and not just skip out on '97. I can't stress how annoying it is putting up part of a year and then just stopping. Especially since they only went up til like October 16. Like WTF is that? At least put up all of October.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
IWC has been around since 1990 or so. From what I gather it looks like it was a bunch of college students emailing each other on a chain list or something.

Attitude era was different, there's no doubt about it. Hell listen to Cena/Jericho Podcast we were arguing about earlier today, dude points out multiple times how things are just different today because of the rules they have now. Most of you guys have the network, go watch some of the first few Monday Night Wars videos, they go in depth talking about how it became anything goes to try to one up the other guy.
The fact of the matter is the Attitude Era will never happen again and the ONLY reason Vince allowed it was out of desperation. It's not his style, it's not how he ever run his company before or since. He "went to war" and did what he had to do to win, after that, it was back to business as usual.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm totally cool with people not wanting that. Everybody has their opinion, I'm not going to tell you yours is wrong and mine is right. But to sit around and act like this isn't how WWE/WWF has been run since the beginning with 1 very special exception is just not based around facts. Cena said it himself, there will always be "A GUY", that's how this whole thing works. Do I wish that "GUY" could be more technical, I think we all do. The bottom line though is they need a larger then life "superhero" to be the face and that's not something that will ever change.Golf: Bubba

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Watched the "Razor Ramon" debut Raw for the first time since it happened back in '96 last night. I STILL can't believe they thought that would be a good idea with the fake Ramon and Diesel thing. Though JR with the original pipebomb in WWE history was great. Much different watching that rant now as an adult that knows what I know about the business and everything that's happened since and when I saw it originally as a kid and didn't really understand it.Comment

The original pipebomb was awesome. I, like you, watched it again not that long ago as well as the lead up to it and thought wow that was awesome. Especially knowing that all that crap Vince did to him was true. It's cool to go back through those mid 90's Raw episodes and pay attention to commentary. You'll notice how in and out They were for a few years.I'm a Vince McMahon Guy!
