Why am I not shocked that WWE doesn't understand that people want to watch wrestling on its network?Currently Playing:

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
TV ads and plugging the wrestling content during RAW and Smackdown would make a difference. The Network is plugged, but it's either generic (subscribe!) or focused on reality-based shows.
25th anniversary of RAW for example ... why not have talent, commentators, etc., plugging their favorite episodes? My apologies if they have been, I just haven't heard it.Currently Playing:

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
On Prichard's show he said that when they signed him and were trying to come up with a gimmick for him, Mero wanted a Marco Polo gimmick. He'd yell MARCO and the crowd would yell back MERO
I wish I could find a clip of it on youtube, my description doesn't really do it justiceLast edited by reyes the roof; 01-10-2018, 09:58 PM.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Might be one of those deals where Vince eventually retiring or dying may help. Not sure about Stephanie though cause she seems just like him in ways. But it’s Vince’s obsession with making them an entertainment company and wrestling being a dirty word. They’re name isn’t even officially World Wrestling Entertainment anymore. They’re literally just WWE now to reflect they’re more than wrestling. They have no desire to promote their history and all that footage because they’re actively trying to separate themselves from it at every turn.

But in general though, they do want to change people's minds about what WWE is. Don't think Steph would be any different since she is the chief branding officer already behind all this. Don't got an issue with the sports entertainment part of it because WWE is just that. But acting like wrestling is a derogatory word when talking about the product isn't right.
It's something little, but all of it combined shows how WWE as a whole needs different mindset when it comes to presenting their product.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Just finished KotR '98 HIAC match. I know what's coming but I'm shocked and amazed every single time. Wtf is wrong with Mick Foley, man?! Like, how does that conversation work between Taker and Mick? No way you could convince me of that (although I'm sure Mick volunteered for it).
"Hey, Shiz, I'm gonna grab you and toss you off the cage..."
"Say what?!"
"I'm gonna lightly toss you off the cell onto the..."
*walks away laughing*
I can't see how that conversation goes any other way.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Mick’s crazy *** is probably the one that suggested that spot. I say that knowing how he is and as you mention, I just can’t see how it works out that Undertaker or anybody comes to another person with that idea for that spot.

Man, after the Benoit Incident, you can definitely notice a drop off as far as storylines go.
