Too bad he never got to do the Marco Mero gimmick that he pitched when he was signed

The turnover at the Network the first couple of years was crazy. People lasting less than 6 months.

Why am I not shocked that WWE doesn't understand that people want to watch wrestling on its network?

It boggles my ****ing mind. They do have some original programing that I do enjoy but I'm not ordering a ****ing wrestling subscription to watch wrestling reality TV. Why brag about your history and tradition if you aren't even going to present it?

TV ads and plugging the wrestling content during RAW and Smackdown would make a difference. The Network is plugged, but it's either generic (subscribe!) or focused on reality-based shows.

25th anniversary of RAW for example ... why not have talent, commentators, etc., plugging their favorite episodes? My apologies if they have been, I just haven't heard it.

On Prichard's show he said that when they signed him and were trying to come up with a gimmick for him, Mero wanted a Marco Polo gimmick. He'd yell MARCO and the crowd would yell back MERO

I wish I could find a clip of it on youtube, my description doesn't really do it justice

Might be one of those deals where Vince eventually retiring or dying may help. Not sure about Stephanie though cause she seems just like him in ways. But it’s Vince’s obsession with making them an entertainment company and wrestling being a dirty word. They’re name isn’t even officially World Wrestling Entertainment anymore. They’re literally just WWE now to reflect they’re more than wrestling. They have no desire to promote their history and all that footage because they’re actively trying to separate themselves from it at every turn.

That's what puzzles me so much, they're all about being entertainment and not wrasslin, so you'd think they'd be more focused on having good, well thought out, consistent writing and storytelling instead of the way they just throw matches together

It's not just WWE though, it's many companies. Trying to just use acronyms or part of their name to show they're more than 1 specific thing.

But in general though, they do want to change people's minds about what WWE is. Don't think Steph would be any different since she is the chief branding officer already behind all this. Don't got an issue with the sports entertainment part of it because WWE is just that. But acting like wrestling is a derogatory word when talking about the product isn't right.

It's something little, but all of it combined shows how WWE as a whole needs different mindset when it comes to presenting their product.

Just finished KotR '98 HIAC match. I know what's coming but I'm shocked and amazed every single time. Wtf is wrong with Mick Foley, man?! Like, how does that conversation work between Taker and Mick? No way you could convince me of that (although I'm sure Mick volunteered for it).

"Hey, Shiz, I'm gonna grab you and toss you off the cage..."
                    "Say what?!"
"I'm gonna lightly toss you off the cell onto the..."
                    *walks away laughing*

I can't see how that conversation goes any other way.

Yeah I could MAYBE consider taking a bump like Shane did where he is in complete control of where he is landing, but there is no way I'm letting someone throw me off the way Undertaker did

Mick’s crazy *** is probably the one that suggested that spot. I say that knowing how he is and as you mention, I just can’t see how it works out that Undertaker or anybody comes to another person with that idea for that spot.

Man, after the Benoit Incident, you can definitely notice a drop off as far as storylines go.

I just watched The Dudley's promo from ECW Heatwave 99, just absolutely amazing stuff from Bubba. I really liked Don Callis on commentary too
