Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
80s crowds were awesome, I've been watching a lot of Brother Love videos lately on youtube and the amount of heat he is getting from the crowd is just mind blowingComment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
For sure. People talk about the reasons why crowds aren't like that anymore - the death of kayfabe, hotshotting, things getting too crazy in the AE/RA era, etc - but I just think fans back then were more willing to play along and have fun with the shows. It wasn't about dissecting the booking, or logical angles, etc. They just were there to have fun, and didn't care about looking cool on TV. It was like going to the movies. Now crowds want to get themselves trending on twitter.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
MSG had a completely different feel to it in the 80's; the lighting being a big reason why. You really only saw a couple of rows of seats. Felt like you were watching something taking place in a small arena, but then the crowd would pop for something and you'd realize there were thousands there watching the show.Currently Playing:

Spot on. People weren't nearly as douchey in the 80's as they are now.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Raw before the Rumble, 2 interesting notes:
1.Fans were chanting BORING during Undertakers Ministry promo!
2.Sammy! Who could forget Sammy! And infront of Henrys mom(who would later grab him by his ear and let him have it backstage). Chyna-Henry story was good.
Onto the Rumble:
Rock-Mankind in I Quit Match. Match was brutal! Another one of those "Foley is crazy!" matches. Amount of headshots he took, getting busted open, and this fall:
Watching all the progression through the weeks/months, this to me stood out as The Rocks entertaining side coming out. Being the bad guy, but still getting laughs in the crowd whenever he got on the mic when Mankind was asking if he quit. And his pre/post match promo, he slowly started doing the pause when he was like "and the millions..........and millions.", though it sounds weird hearing this with no fans joining in.
The Rumble itself was all McMahon/Austin. Even the pre-match promo for the Rumble match, it's just McMahon vs Austin...and 28 other superstars who could win $100k if they eliminate Austin. Obviously everyone knows how that ends, though one cool moment was the Ministry coming in and kidnapping Mabel in a matter of 1 minute. I've known this forever, but never watched Rumble 99 and hearing McMahons future theme used as the PPV theme. Just doesn't feel right hearing that music in situations not involving McMahon. The first time he ever used that theme was during the Rumble celebration.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
In some ways, yeah for sure. I also think it has to do with the type of people going to those shows compared to now. Nowadays getting decent tickets to an even semi big show for less than $150 just ain't happening. I think if you watch WM4 and WM5 you kinda see what crowds could be like even back then when you price groups of people out.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
British Bulldog was so terrible in his second run. Hindsight he would've been better off in some tag team.
