I'm late but just saw the posts on this topic. The backstory on that as I recall is that Austin's injury just pushed up the timeline on the inevitable. Big Show had a guaranteed title reign in his contract that he signed jumping ship from WCW and Austin going down just gave them the means to go ahead and get it out of the way.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
This Undertaker/Steph story I like how it's been going about. Also kind of funny in hindsight that Stephs first official appearance on TV happened to be HHHs first night as part of "Team Corporation". A week later, HHH and Test team up with Chyna as the manager. Almost as weird as seeing HHH and Rock teaming up the week prior.
-Kane/Xpac win the tag titles
-Al Snow/Holly feud has a unique build to it(Snow keeps watching Hardcores back because he doesn't want anyone taking Hollys title...except Al Snow).
-Undertaker announces he's sacrificing a "young woman" on the show. Later, he literally whips Christian as punishment for revealing where Steph was.
-Ministry later go and kidnap Ken Shamrock and stuff him in the back of a car and drive off
-Now for the highlight of the show, the sacrifice! Moment before the break ends with Vince/Steph in a room with security, and the lights go out. Show returns from commercial and everything is quiet, Ministry come out with a woman(her face is covered) and everyone thinks it's Steph...until the backstage camera shows Steph and Vince still in the room. Undertaker reveals it to be Ken Shamrocks sister that he's sacrificing. Using her to send a message to Vince/Steph.
-Also, Big Show pulls down the tron and Austin tears it apart!
Following Raw, Shane kicks out Patterson/Briscoe from the Corporation and basically turns on Vince as well! Shamrock also quits. Godfather wins the IC title. Undertaker kidnaps Debra. Rock/Austin battle on the bridge in Detroit and Rock throws Austin and the smoking skull title off the bridge!Comment

I didn't watch weekly until 2001. So getting to watch these old episodes, knowing full well I'll enjoy it is great.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
First time watching like this. I know the big moments like who the higher power is(although I don't know the reasoning behind it or how it makes sense) , the eventual corporate ministry, superstars and teams debuting, future stories for some guys and so on, but not week by week specific details, or even some bigger details (like hhh joining corporation). At times I even try not to remember so that stuff can be somewhat a surprise.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
No, I'm watching as much as I can. I started in 2001, but that also means I haven't watched 2001 since 2001, 2002 since 2002 and so on(minus the occasional clip throughout the years since).
If I had to choose a point to stop, I'm thinking maybe WM in 2006. Obviously I won't get there for YEARS, assuming I'm still doing this, but that's what makes it so much more fun. I don't want to binge watch shows or rush through it. I'm enjoying these shows for however long it takes me to watch them all. I think I started watching 98 near the fall last year, so by time I finish 99, it would be well over a year to watch 2 years of shows, and that's without Smackdown for most of this, meaning the amount of time it'd take to watch everything will be doubled.Comment

When I first read this I immediately thought they're putting out a collection of his feuds with women? Lol. I mean, who wouldn't wanna see Lillian Garcia in the figure four again?
