    Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread

If anyone wants to watch some stuff without paying them for it, they've opened a lot of content up for a limited time (they don't specify how long) with just a free WWE.com account.

Has to be a top 5 WM entrance of all time. No pyro, no stage, no lighting effects, but huge charisma and pop.

It's always crazy to see some old wwe videos and see how much better quality they are compared to pro sports leagues around the same time.

And like people have said for years, WWE overproduced things at times. Some entrances look so cool with the added effects. Others dont need anything. Less is more.

I really enjoyed the RA documentary. That's the era where I started to lose interest in wrestling but after watching the documentary, it looks like it's about 10x better than today's product so maybe I'll give that era a rewatch.

What's the consensus on the "PG era" which I believe is roughly 2008-2013?

They officially made it PG in July 08, but I think the seeds were there in 07, particularly after the Benoit tragedy. Cena was main eventing PPVs with Khali even before that. Although maybe I'm conflating mediocrity with PG.

Eras according to this WWE.com poll I found and what % of people voted as their favorite:

                https://www.wwe.com/polls/what-is-your-favorite-wwe-era

6% The Golden Age (‘80s to early ‘90s)

3% New Generation Era (Early to mid ‘90s)

51% Attitude Era (mid ‘90s to early 2000s)

                21% Ruthless Aggression Era (2002 to 2008)

                4% PG Era (2008 to 2013)

                3% Reality Era (2014-2016)

13% The New Era (2016 to present)

My question early about the PG era was the quality...is it worth attempting to re-watch or should I skip over it and maybe look for the important PPV matches and stuff?

                    Doesn't necessarily mean much.

People who watched golden era and are still fans today almost for sure saw AE. They probably would've voted AE as their fave.

If they let people rank them, we'd see diff numbers.

I think most people who love that era have long since given up on WWE.

That and we just don’t spend a lot of time on wwe.com. They have a better chance of getting me to take the survey if they sent it in the mail

I would have voted Golden Era as well. I remember actively not loving the AE while it was going on. Constantly comparing it to the Golden Era and how it wasn’t living up to it. It’s not really till a lot later that I was able to appreciate the good parts of the AE.

Out of curiosity, how old are you? I have a feeling we could easily identify preference with age.
