He also began to transition away to the biker character he would play in 2000. Per an interview with Kevin Nash, this was a move to allow Calaway to enter World Championship Wrestling with a non-trademarked persona. Had he entered WCW, it would have been as Mark Calaway. Although negotiations were described as close, he ultimately re-signed with the World Wrestling Federation.

Are you seriously citing Wikipedia as a source right now or you just ****ing with us?

Bischoff has long since shut down those comments by Kevin Nash. I believe his exact words were “no meaningful conversations ever took place with anyone that mattered at that time.”

            Y’all better than me.

I would’ve kept that meme alive just to see how long he would go with it. “Of course Wikipedia doesn’t lie! It’s the most honest place on the Internet!”, lol.

Just put on the first episode of Superstars they uploaded and it's LOD in a tag match against jobbers. One of the jobbers is Duane Gill (Gillberg) and he has hair!

So far this first episode is good, way more watchable than 93/94 RAW, for me anyway.

They showed a vignette of a guy about to get out of jail to come get the Big Bossman. Must've been Nailz IIRC. Love stuff like that.

Man, Nailz was classic example of a guy with an A+ look and an F- in-ring.

He was an F- human being on top of everything else.

                          HELP!!!

36 year old pastor who is wanting to get back into WWE...

I have the WWE Network and was wondering if someone could suggest HOW and WHERE would be the best play to start to "catch up" before this year's Wrestlemania

I am excited to get started... I have not seen anything since 2009ish...

So I was wondering should I just watch ALL PPV events since 2010 until now and depend on the recaps... or is there a specific moment that would be a good place to start?!

In terms of the Wikipedia comments, obviously I was being sarcastic about Wikipedia pages being the most legitimate source. Though Kevin Nash did say exactly what the page said. Bischoff denied it though, so I guess Nash was just making things up(or heard things from the wrong people).

You don't really have to watch years or even months back to catch up on things. WWE isn't like a regular TV show. Especially nowadays where you could miss a few shows and not really miss out on stories(which WWE doesn't have much of anymore), or see major changes in superstar characters. They still happen, just not as often as in past eras.

There have been great moments since 2010, but not enough to the point where I'd suggest watching shows weekly, or even watching full PPVs. Just depends on how much free time you have to actually seek out and watch these big moments.

As for getting up to date to watch WM this year, I'd suggest start from this years Royal Rumble (takes place this Sunday) and watch shows each week from then on (Raw is now 3 hours, and SD is live on Tuesdays).

Going online and reading up on the careers of the current roster could help you get familiar with the superstars, but isn't really needed. Most people from 2009 aren't in WWE anymore, and the product is still PG, but not to the extreme level as WWE made PG out to be around 08/09. Cena has become a part-timer, Orton is turning into that as well, Kofi is part of one of the most popular stables of the modern era in 'The New Day', Miz has improved dramatically into one of the best promo guys on the roster, and the divas division is gone and replaced by an actual womens division which has done things never before seen, including introducing womens tag titles at the Elimination Chamber PPV next month.

Agreed with the recommendation to just start on Sunday. If there's one thing WWE does well, it's put together video packages to explain the story behind matches. They'll also run the videos until you're sick of seeing them, but at least you'll be caught up.

If anything I'd say check out the Match of the Year 2018 Collection on the Network. There's been a lot of roster turnover since you last watched - might as well just pick at random and see who catches your eye.
