Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Sure, I get all that.
This also had a pre-taped Lex Luger interview doing the WBF thing and finishing with him chugging milk. Made me think of Bruce saying how much of a pain in the *** these kind of things were to do with Lex. Apparently the Survivor Series 1993 one where all he had to say was “Happy Thanksgiving” took about 6 hours lol.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
But that's the basis for every judgment today.
Even something like Friends, with the reunion airing last week, people started talking about the show again. And of course people start ripping the show or characters for their reaction to certain things (like their treatment of Carol/Susan, or Ross wanting his son playing with GI Joe instead of dolls and so on).
Wrestling has so many instances of that too. Obviously we're seeing it happen with the Right to Censor styled Network scrubbing being done.
Not really the same thing. Heenan was supposed to be playing a bad dude. Friends should have known better.

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Theres other moments where even the good guys do or say stuff controversial nowadays too.
Guys like The Rock and others despite being good guys got cheered for constantly calling Kane a "big red **tard" because he was "special/handicapped". Nowadays people don't use that word as much for obvious reason, but back in those days it was common to hear people saying things like that.
HHH was technically a bad guy, but was cheered for suggesting that Kurt wasn't really into Stephanie because he "plays for the other team" and fans were laughing at Angle for that.
And obviously many other instances like that.Comment

Not just in that instance.

Do you think a show like South Park should be removed from tv?

Although in South Parks case, it's always been offensive, so people have always been mad at it.Comment

WWE Network Discussion Thread
But that’s the point. Why are they allowed to be offensive? It’s a double standard. It’s also ridiculous.
I have no idea why modern wrestling fans think it’s a badge of honor to point out how wrong old wrestling was. But it happens all the time.

All instances from the Attitude Era/RA when they were trying to get viewers by being offensive and non PC

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
No badge of honor, no wanting it pulled off TV or Heenan cancelled. Just simply watching a show I hadn’t seen in forever and thought “Damn, Bobby.” That’s all.Comment

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
South Park pokes fun at everyone and they are able to take real life situations or whatever is deemed offensive for the day, turn it into a episode and showcases both sides of it. Take everything involved with girl sports, the episode they did where a male that looked and talked like Randy Savage said he was a girl and able to participate, etc.
So the excuse is that if you’re offensive to all it’s ok?
Because I love Heenan and I like South Park too.

Jesus, if you don't like something turn it off. Why this isn't the normal response to all these controversies is what's wrong with pop culture today. There are hundreds of channels, tens of thousands of hours of streaming content, YouTube, TikTok(?), all available to watch.
Why waste any effort getting worked up and blasting your opinion across social media when you could just change the channel or pick up a book!? I really don't understand the reactionary nature of people over everything.
Yes, I admit, things seem cringe today...but that's OK! Now back to geriatric Mae Young getting put through a table after having an affair with Sexual Chocolate post giving birth to a hand!

Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Now I'm coming up on No Mercy 2000. One of the big stories of course is Rikishi revealed to have been the one to run over Austin, and his reasoning is doing if for The Rock. He goes on about doing it for the family, naming Yokozuna as one of the family members (dont think they really mentioned those family ties on TV before?) and how other family members have told him how proud they are.
I never realized this was actually the last mentioning of Yokozuna on WWFTV before he died, and that Yokozuna actually died the day after No Mercy.Jesus, if you don't like something turn it off. Re: WWE Network Discussion Thread
Haven't watched too much wrestling the last few years but just got Peacock a few weeks ago and have been enjoying going back through the beginning of Nitro. Just finished 96 Bash at the Beach over the weekend.
Think I'm enjoying going back and seeing Malenko, Mysterio, and Eddie more than anything.Texas Rangers/Saints/LSU/Tottenham Hotspur
