Definitely a strange location. WCW had several of those.

Road Wild with Eric Bischoff living out his biker fantasies and Club La Vela for Spring Break.

ETA - and the Snow Brawl thing in Tahoe or somewhere like that

I had never heard of that, but it's on YouTube. 1999 WCW on MTV, with Rob Zombie, Jimmy Hart and Larry Zybesko on commentary.

I like that WCW ran all these weird venues. Probably a bad business move because you're not getting any ticket revenue from it, but as a viewer it's interesting to see shows in different spots.

Here's the link for anyone else who had absolutely no idea SnowBrawl existed:

The more I watch the Invasion the more I think heel Austin might be underrated.

He had range as a heel, especially a comedic heel. Reenacting Titanic from the back of a pickup truck lol.

During that month or so in the Invasion when Vince wasn't on TV, that might have helped heel Austin more.

Now into the part of the Invasion with Kronik.....

The smark crowd popped when they debuted and beat up Undertaker and somehow a group of fans near the front row already had Kronic signs?

Were they supposed to be a real popular team that internet fans were anticipating their debuts in WWE and knew when they'd be showing up? Obviously their time in WWE was the exact opposite of that but still.

Stone Cold with his own version of the "call the ambulance" meme 15+ years before it became a thing.

He beat up Stasiak for giving him bad coffee. After beating him up Stone Cold was like "call the ambulance". Debra's like "is he ok?" and Austin's like "not for him, for me, I think I burnt my mouth!"

Kronik was a pretty popular team in dying WCW for whatever that's worth but maybe it was just fans who remembered Crush and Adam Bomb.

There were fans who had a KRONIC sign (as in a group of 6 people each with a letter) almost front row, so the group itself did seem to be liked in a way (I do wonder how those fans knew they'd be showing up, either they're plants or there were internet confirmations of it).

It is kind of strange that Kronik would have that "big" of fans or WWE would even bother having plants in the crowd.

IIRC they were demoted to a developmental territory after the match but they were like 40 and been in the business for years, so they just quit as they weren't doing that.

The whole thing was a flop, I just found it weird how they got a decent pop and had signs in the crowd for their debut when they weren't anything notable.

At least when DDP debuted, he got a huge pop because of his past work, though that promo and stalker stuff killed any hype he ever had.

Watching some 1991 WCW. A couple of things:

Matt Bourne as Big Josh is an amazingly bad fit as a pure babyface. The body language and look just screams heel.

I will put Madusa from this era (as a member of the Dangerous Alliance) up there as one of the all time badass and hot women in wrestling. WWF bringing her in a few years later to be a super boring babyface was such a waste. She could have been ahead of her time if they had brought her in to play something resembling her real life personality. But they were only pretending to care about women's wrestling back then, so. Hell they could have just used her as a valet and she would have been money too.

The segment with her and Heyman at Halloween Havoc 92 was gold

Agreed. Matt Bourne just by his nature should never be a babyface. Evil Doink was great.

Evil Doink, serial killer, etc. They made Barry Windham "The Stalker," but Bourne would have been good at that one too.

Christian with the raining pyro and his first solo theme was cool. Raining pyro in general is my fave kind of pyro in wrestling.

It's definitely one of the most unique themes lol.

I like the version of "Just Close Your Eyes" that sounds like it's performed by tATu. Christian has had some good theme songs.
