    Re: Brand Split 2.0

This will probably give AJ Styles a chance to be champion for the brand Roman Reigns does not go to.

Guys like Kevin Owens will now have a chance to win the main brand title instead of being stuck in mid card status.

Apollo Crews would now get to compete for the US/IC title because he's now an exclusive mid carder for some brand.

I just can't help but think Cody would have gotten a push from the split if he just held on a little longer.

Cody "held on" for 10 years, man. They didn't give a **** about pushing him. He was one of their most consistent workers for a decade.

Seriously on the Kevin Owens thing? Dude has been up barely over a year. He's been heavily featured for the entire year. He'll obviously be champion one day. Be patient.

He's been on every PPV(no pre-show) since his call up.

As far as the draft. I think it will be cool if done right. Hopefully it's different than the way they did it last time which I did not enjoy at all.

Make them feel different. Give Smackdown a completely different stage not just a different color.

I was also kinda hoping this would happen organically. A natural split between Steph and Shane causing Vince to split them up. Just kind of announcing its going to split out of the blue takes a lot of intrigue out of it. I'm not totally down on the idea yet but definitely in a wait and see mode.

He had every right to leave. But the split gives more opportunities to wrestlers who were previously stuck in limbo. Since wrestlers are going to be exclusive to a certain brand, there's going to be a bigger need for more mid carders to step up and I think Cody would have been one of the top candidates.

It's hard to believe it's only been a year. Owens just seems like a guy you don't want to waste time with. I think he's too good to just win IC title again.

                I agree with you.

I just don't think that's going to happen.

They don't even change things up for PPV once a month. Doubt that they will change things on the very next night since Smackdown is Tuesday.

Hopefully there are some things they can change quickly that don't require much effort but gives the show a different look.

So I think it's safe to say that Shane is sticking around. I wonder if there's going to be some sort of battle/stipulation between him and Steph on who gets which show?

I haven't followed closely for about 10 years so I don't know a ton about Cody Rhodes but, strictly from an employer's perspective, I would've told him that he'd be a top candidate before he made it official if that were the case. No way that this brand split idea came about in the short time since then. They had to have a sense that it was happening.

From Cody's perspective, he probably already knew about it and still wasn't going to get elevated for whatever reason. If he didn't, this probably justifies his decision since, as above, an employer wouldn't let a potentially top person go if they knew about the opportunity.

Don't you remember it happened at Mania when Shane beat the Undertaker.

Would make a ton of sense for the two to battle for the Raw program. WWE is Raw after all. That's what they told us.

This could all be true. But I wouldn't put it past the WWE if they wanted to keep this news top secret until the very last minute.

                            The mysteriously dropped lock box?

At least a brand split with a live SD will rejuvenate things for the company for a while at least.

Bunch of notes floating around from the prominent "insiders".

Each brand will have own Heavyweight Champion.
Women's Division exclusive to one brand.
WWE actively seeking top level free agents to fill rosters. (TNA, Japan, ROH)
Draft likely July 11th Raw in Detroit.

This honestly sounds like a terrible idea if RAW is still gonna be 3 hours. Plus, what if the injury bug hits again like it did this past year? That could set up one show to be really lackluster.
