AEW is bigger than TNA, especially early TNA, but seeing the mid-late 00s TNA, imagine if that got the type of TV deal AEW has. The TNA roster was so stacked too.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
They actually had a pretty good deal with Spike, but then they threw it away because of Russo. They had the star power, but the Impact Zone hurt them, and likely prevented bigger networks from wanting to parter with them. Their touring business was pretty lousy too. They couldn't shake the low rent rep. The booking held them back too. It was always something.Comment

Dec 29th, 2003. Monday Night RAW from San Antonio, TX. Triple H & Shawn are still feuding and Triple H's reign of terror was happening. The match was Triple H vs Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship. Stone Cold was fired a month prior as Co-GM leaving Eric Bischoff in charge by himself. One of the greatest RAW moments that doesn't get talked about too much, the emotion of the crowd, JR on commentary, a dusty finish and a Austin return at the end.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
Don't forget NJPW too....
January 4th, 2018, Wrestle Kingdom 12. Chris Jericho wrestled his first match in New Japan in nearly 20 years as he wrestled Kenny Omega. Jericho surprised the wrestling world in 2017 where he had a promo played challenging Omega to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 12.
January 4th, 2017, Wrestle Kingdom 11. A forgotten matchup on the card as two future Undisputed Era members would collide for the ROH World Championship on this card. Adam Cole vs Kyle O'Reilly. Cody Rhodes would also make his New Japan Debut as the American Nightmare against Juice Robinson on this card.

One of Jim Ross' best calls happened on this day 23 years ago.
"Tyson & Austin!, Tyson & Austin!"
