Yep. Those were fun times as a fan back then. I couldn’t imagine it would eventually become what we have now. Back then, I wouldn’t think of missing a Raw. Now, I can’t picture myself watching an episode for even five minutes.

Watching tv will never be as stressful as during the Monday Night Wars, trying to flip back and forth during the last five minutes to make sure you didn’t miss anythingComment

Ok seriously, has it really been two years since this announcement was made? Yeah thought this would be a different entry for this thread and an interesting one as WWE usually never tells us anything about contracts. The fact they said Dean Ambrose was leaving and were open about it was very odd.

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
That was the weirdest thing because you felt like they only did it because it was part of some storyline, but turns out to have been real. The final few months of his career in WWE was definitely weird, especially the Nia Jax part.
Although his part on Moment of Bliss was great. "EC3, where are EC 1 and 2?"Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
To be fair, WWE doesn't think they need anyone at this point. And they are right. They are locked in and guaranteed profit and success regardless of who they put on their shows. It's not a recipe for great/memorable TV, but I doubt they care if anyone fondly remembers this current product 10 years down the road. By that point it'll be a property owned by some media content conglomerate.Comment

Re: On this day in professional wrestling history...
I’ll watch the Royal Rumble tomorrow, I watch a handful of PPVs per year and that’s it with the current product. I don’t even remember when I stopped, I think it was around when Becky Lynch became champion. I’d just watch the PPVs and now it’s tapered off in to just watching the big PPVs.Comment

I’m on a similar schedule. I do not remember the last time I was a weekly show watcher. Probably followed closest last in 2016 ish.

Nope. Was really into Dynamite initially so late 2019...watched the Rumble...but once they went to the Performance Center, it was too hard to watch. WM felt like a glorified house show and I've been out since.Comment
