A certain individual who's deal with WWE just expired would be a great option as a "surprise" entrant in the "face of the Revolution ladder match."

(Christ, that match needs an abbreviated name.)

Ok, but FOTR doesn't have a nice ring to it.

Just call it the Revolution ladder match?

But this would be a great way to bring him in. Contact expiring means he can show up any time.

And with a certain family member of another talent likely coming in about 2 weeks, and hopefully Kenny is cleared for a return soon too, from Revolution onwards could set up the next wave of momentum in AEW.

Somebody on Twitter dug up Max’s Facebook post when he quit football to pursue a wrestling career. Man…that promo he delivered on Dynamite hits on a whole other level.

When you can blend reality into a storyline, that’s when pro wrestling becomes masterful. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Imagine actually letting guys be a version of themselves, and allowing them a role in the process of their character, as opposed to bringing them in and saying, "OK, here's your character, here are your lines." Crazy.

Two different ways of doing things and neither is completely perfect, TBH.

We saw how giving Cody "total creative freedom" completely derailed his run, how Big Swole said the lack of "structure" hurts the lower card talent/less creative people or how Matt Hardy's 'Broken' gimmick didn't get over with Khan so they went with the (far less appealing) HFO (or whatever it's called) stuff.

And there is also the fact that most of AEW's roster doesn't have any character depth or motivations beyond "I wrestle and want to win _____."

And, again, the same complaints can be levied at the other company with their "cheesy dialogue," stilted storytelling and lack of character development (mostly for lower card talent).

Matt Hardy just dropped the Broken stuff due to the pandemic. He himself seemingly made the decision as it's an interactive gimmick and no crowd meant no one could interact. Not sure where the HFO came from but Matt said a lot about trying to "just be himself" with his next gimmick so who knows.

It would be awesome in a way for Cesaro to show up in the ladder match at Revolution and grab the brass ring I’m sure will be hanging above the ring.

Or as Sky called it, the brass cheerio.

I've read "reports" that claimed that and that Khan didn't like the 'Broken' Hardy gimmick.

And, again, you could be right that Khan didn't like it because of the lack of a crowd. Valid point by you or Khan, but that reasoning doesn't make complete sense when a large component of the character were/are "cinematic" style matches.

No worries, homie. We are just speculating with no real insider knowledge.

The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle.

We're always being worked by talent and ownership/management, so we gotta take things they say with a grain of salt (even if true).

Matt could be 100% telling the truth but we'll never know. Or he could be working us to not upset his boss and leave the option open to go back to the character (at more opportune time) later.

AEW’s payoffs have been better than TNA’s were, but man…these big announcement promises every other week are very Dixie Carter-ish.

I'm happy that I'm not the only one noticing that pattern.

And making an announcement about an announcement that you don't know when you can officially announce. Interesting....

Sounds like a Super Show of sorts with Impact/NJPW/ROH. The reason he can't announce it is likely due to still negotiating with the other companies to make it work, finding a venue which would be a stadium my guess, etc. I'd definitely look into going to a Forbidden Door Super Show with multiple promotions involved and dream matches, etc.
