    Re: AEW Dynamite Thread

Is it just me, or does Britt Baker D.M.D. seem to apply moves slowly. Not in a good way.

And to be fair to WWE, we'd be complaining if they did it. Why are rope breaks a thing in a street fight?

AEW has things in common with WWE, sadly.

Like the meaningless tag team matches. I was at the show in philly and it felt like a house show. I had a good time. Best pop of the night was Omega & Kiho. Best match was probably the woman’s match.

Ummm what tag match was meaningless? Two of them were part of the tag team tournament and the other one furthered a bunch of different storylines. It's extremely refreshing to see one guy feuding with more than just one other guy. That tag match furthered Moxley/Omega's feud by building more anticipation for their PPV match and it sparked a feud between Moxley and PAC. It told a story of PAC caring about his W/L record more than Mox did and it told the story of Mox just wanting to say **** the rules and just go to war with Omega. It also improved the W/L record of Page and Omega. Nothing meaningless about that at all.

Mox/PAC vs Page/Omega was a classic WWE meaningless tag match. 4 guys in a feud team up against the two guys they are feuding with. The crowd wasn’t even into it until the ending of the match.

            Sidenote.

Something needs to be done with ticket scalpers or stop the idea of reselling tickets...I couldn’t get tickets when they first went on sale but last night about 80% of the lower section was empty...It also explains why I was able to get a $35 ticket for $12 on stub hub the day before the event.

WWE's tag matches are typically part of their 50/50 booking mentality and don't further anything in the storylines, it's just filler. This wasn't meaningless at all, maybe you didn't enjoy it but it served multiple purposes.

Man, it's not the end of the world if someone puts out mild criticism of AEW. I'm struggling to even call what he said criticism, but whatever it is definitely wasn't strong enough to need someone to jump right in to defend against it.

There's plenty about AEW to criticize, but that tag match wasn't one of them

That's a bigger problem than just in AEW.

All sports leagues have this ticket resell issue. The second they go on sale, scalpers buy them all up and sell them for more. They might not always sell all, but the money made from all the others, they can afford to not sell a number of their tickets.

In AEW case, those scalpers failed and got what they deserved.

However, nobody will do anything about it, because it still results in ticket sales. Who cares how many show up, if the tickets get sold, they make money.

I can see AEW dipping below 1 million viewers next week. Opening night for a lot of teams in the NBA and there's probably an MLB game, no?

Yeah. And they're clearly grooming her to be the future champion and leader of that division. Which is so WWE, and dumb as hell.

The women's match had a few botches, Baker needs more training and Riho is so small, it seemed like Baker was uncomfortable or hesitant picking her up because she's so small.

I enjoyed the tag match with Omega and company. Match was good, advanced the storylines and made sense. Good main event as well. Darby Allin is damn good. Back to tag teams, really hyped to see Santana and Ortiz against the Young Bucks at Full Gear.

Really enjoying AEW Dynamite. It's entertaining, fun to watch, makes sense and has good matches. Overall, it's good to be back into wrestling and watching it again.

Despite that. For some reason that was the match everyone was into and got the most pop outside of the dark match with the young bucks.

It wasn’t a bad match at all though. Especially when you had that terrible woman’s match with Nyla on Dark.

Maybe AEE sees something in Baker...I didn’t really know of her but when she came out she looked like a star and the crowd knew her.

Long term it hurts AEW. If people are watching half empty arenas each week it makes them less likely to purchase tickets. If the resale market is consistently poor, the scalpers wont use their bots to pick them up at release.

That Cody video package was awesome. Really wish WWE would use these more often but I guess that's what the sit down interviews with Cole are for.
