This is the most excited I've felt for a Dynamite in awhile, and I'm generally pretty excitable. Whether Mercedes shows up is almost immaterial to my excitement.

I was dreading the Best of 7 series when it got announced, and while every match hasn't been a banger, they've delivered in different ways for each match so far, and obviously the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros are gonna go all out in a ladder match. Take****a and Danielson should be another Take****a loss where he becomes more over because he's just so much fun to watch in the ring(I really hope we get a Danielson legwork angle so that he takes away the Jumping Knee). Mox vs Hangman could be another absolute barnburner, and I assume whatever we're doing is going to lead to another match at Revolution. Hook suplexing Big Bill in their tag match might legitimately blow the roof off the building if the crowd is hot. Adding in the possibility of Mercedes showing up? Could be quite the night.

I’m happy to see Hangman back in the ring and him and Mox are having a banger.

Hopefully, the other Adam shows up soon as well.

All that hype for Sarayas secret partner, just for it to be Toni Storm, with it feeling like something bigger was coming since they annnounced her partner, just for it to actually be Toni Storm.

Yeah, that was a failure on TKs part. That hung over that match like a dark cloud and the crowd was noticeably upset after the fact when Mercedes didn't show up.

It didn't help that in the build for the match, they were giving clues that it would be Mercedes. Did Tony think he could pull it off, and jump the gun?

If the Trios title switch somehow leads to The Elite vs CMFTR in Chicago or something that'd be so sick

Hope he can pull off a babyface, he's such a good dude out of character that I'm sure a lot of his likeability is going to translate

I don't get why they always love hyping stuff up that just sets themselves up for failure.

AEW should know better than any other company how obsessed internet fans are. They'll speculate every possibility at all times.

You say someone big is gonna show up, they'll start guessing every major name they can think of.

Sure, you never said it was any of those people, but you should know your own fan base will think that/want it to happen. So any other result is just a disappointment.

If that segment last week was the segment the following week after Saraya was looking for a partner, and they didn't hype up a mystery partner, it would've worked even better.

Hyping stuff you know fans will be disappointed in when the whole situation could've been avoided by simply not acting like its a secret partner just to reveal its someone regularly on TV anyways.

That doesn't do Toni, Saraya or anyone any favors.

How long does a triceps tear take to heal from?

That would be "best for business" but it sounds like - of course taken with a grain of salt - there are still "hurt feelings" from that incident.

Also, I think if - big IF - Punk were to return then Khan needs to treat/use him as a special attraction.

A lot of the hype for Punk cooled down, IMHO, cause he was on TV too much (plus all his clearly unresolved bitterness towards "the other company").

If wrestling promoters could predict exactly how fans would react to literally everything, I have a feeling the industry would be much different.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm not really trying to defend Tony Khan, just that planning all of this stuff out is so much harder when you honestly never know how the crowd will react, I think it was meant to be Toni's return, but he did the announcement of Toni ahead of time when the Mercedes rumours started.
