Sounds like travel issues are keeping some talent from showing up tonight.

MJF claims he's driving 10 hours to make it to Dynamite.

We're definitely getting some extended matches to fill the time.

I know JRs had health issues recently but he definitely looks much skinnier.

Don't want to speculate or imply anything bad, but it does remind me of Dusty when he suddenly started looking much thinner in his later years.

Christian coming out in a long sleeve ref turtleneck for his guest ref match.

Match ends with the old "attack both sides so nobody is the winner" which we all know turns in to the "If nobody is the #1 contender, everyone is the #1 contender".

Also, Willow announces her and Ishii vs Statlander and her Stokley. It'll be Stokleys first AEW match since May 2023.

Britt took so long to get in the ring Mercedes turned around while Britt was still getting ready to sneak attack her

          Okada:
          "Good luck b****"

          Claudio to Okada:
"Next week you'll have 99 problems and this b**** will be be number one."

If they're turning him heel, I wonder if it's gonna build to Mox vs Danielson for the title?

Danielson said what everyone figured after he won the title, it would be almost like a Ric Flair retirement. His next (title) loss will be his last (as a full timer).

A different spin on a farewell tour because unlike Flair knowing that loss is happening at WM, you don't know when or where Danielson could lose. Does it happen at All Out (which would seem so pointless if it does)? Wrestledream in Tacoma Washington? WrestleDynasty in the Tokyo Dome?

Mark Briscoe and KOR pairing might be the most unexpectedly entertaining duo out there.

Mercedes almost called herself "Two Belt Banks"

Hangman literally burning down swerves house!

That visual of the house going up in flames while Hangman is sitting there in a rocking chair, slowly sipping on his beer was awesome. That Steel Cage match is going to be insane on Saturday Night. Hangman vs Swerve is the AEW equivalent of Punk vs McIntyre, two guys in a personal rivalry that boiled over and has reached magnitudes of must-see TV.

And they're probably going to do stuff that makes the Drew/Punk thing look like G rated Disney. AEW PPVs go crazy like that.

Briscoe and Orange Cassidy, what viciousness! How is that even legal!?

I'll never get tired of Danielsons final countdown entrance and fans singing along.

                      Mini Jurassic Express reunion!

Mox standing tall next to BCC.....then they turn on Danielson! Mox taking a page out of Rollins play book, there's always a plan B. The B in this case stands for bag, suffocating Danielson with the bag.

Swerve vs Hangman was what you expected. This very well could be AEWs best feud in their 5 year history. A needle in the mouth followed by a chair shot to end it!?

Then the crowd literally gasping/yelling "NOO" when Hangman took just a few steps back down the ramp as if he was gonna go back after Swerve.

Nigel McGuinness gets what he wanted.

14 years later, someone choked out Danielson the way he did Justin Roberts.

And now Nigel challenges Danielson to a match!

Ahead of the McGuinness-Danielson match someone did the "Lineal McGuinness Last Singles Match" thing where the chain continues with the person who he faced in his final singles match (TJ Phillips), then the next lineal holder is whoever TJ Phillips would next lose clean to in a singles match and that chain continues.

Yes, some people have too much time on their hands.

But it turns out the current holder of the "lineal McGuinness final singles match" is none other than Bryan Danielson! A completely random and meaningless thing but also funny how this tied together.

Looks like they sold around half as many tix for this year's Grand Slam compared to the 2022 event. I tend to think attendance figures in general are trailing indicators of the product from 8-12 months (or more) prior. So, people aren't really deciding whether to buy tickets to an AEW show based on Dynamite last week, or a PPV 2 months ago. It's actually more about 2023. Which makes me worried about what things will look like a year down the road, because the product clearly isn't better than it was.

I see it the opposite. Attendance isn't as much based on the show/card, or what happened X weeks or months ago. Market oversaturation and/or ticket pricing impacts it too.

Tony Khan to make (another) major announcement on Dynamite.

This time it could be a major one.

BR Live already said AEW PPVs will no longer air on it.

Sounds like this announcement is gonna be the new TV/PPV deals for AEW (Dynamite and Collision stay the same, HBO MAX gets the PPVs), maybe the rumored FOX show replacing Rampage too?
